Squinting from the light of the sun hitting your soft (s/c) skin, you sat up groaning rubbing your eyes tiredly. You yawned and stretched your stiff limbs then looked around. You were in your room. You looked to the source that woke you this morning to find a smiling boy opening the blinds. "Morning (y/n), its time to get up." Kaneki? How did i? "Did i fall asleep?" He laughed to himself as he sat on the end of your bed. "You fell asleep during the movie so i brought you up here so you could get a more peaceful sleep." He smiled at you. You looked at him with a sincere smile. "Thank you." Kaneki stood up and faced you properly. There was something different about his face, maybe it was because it was dark last night and you didn't notice it, but, there, on Kaneki's right eye, was a white eye patch. You stared in shock for a bit till Kaneki noticed you. He was about to walk out of your room when you quickly jumped out of bed and ran after him. "Wait, Kaneki. Are you ok? What happened to your eye?" He stopped in his tracks as you grabbed his arm lightly. He looked down then at you. You had an expression that showed him you cared for his well being. "I'm fine, i just need to wear this till me eye heals. The doctor said it could take a couple of weeks, maybe a month even. Don't worry about it." He said to you as he smiled and rubbed your messy hair before he opened the door. You stood there holding the place where he rubbed your head like you were some sort of pet. Before he left your presents, he re entered the room. "Get changed, i will walk you to school. Also there is breakfast on the dining table when you have finished." Then he left. You walked to your dresser and started to pick out some clothes to wear. Reminding you of last night, your shoulder started to sting. Taking off your shirt to see that the once white bandage was now covered in your blood. You sighed to yourself and took off the old bandage and replaced it with a new one. Today you decided to wear a long sleeve top to cover your shoulder bandage in hopes Luke wouldn't see, you never want him to see you in pain, you wanted to be strong for him, to protect him when he was to you. After you got changed you walked out of your room and into the kitchen, you saw pancakes on the table. Your eyes widen as you saw the delicious food in front of you. The aroma in the room lured you into the pancakes. They smelt delicious. You looked around for Kaneki to thank him, but saw no sign of him. You sat at the table and began to feel a little worried. Then a piece of paper caught your eye. 

Don't stress (y/n), i will be back to pick you up for school. I have just gone to my house to freshen up and will be there shortly. Enjoy your breakfast. And please, do NOT leave the house until i get there.

You smiled at the little note as you relaxed knowing that he was ok. You wondered why he didn't want you to leave the house alone? Then the smell of the pancakes brought you out of your thoughts. You couldn't believe that Kaneki actually made you breakfast. But what amazed you even more was that he could actually cook. I mean, you didn't have any pancake mix any where so he must have made it from scratch. You took a bite out of the pancakes and as soon the texture hit your taste buds, your mouth exploded with flavor. You couldn't believe at how good of a cook he was. You savored every mouthful of the pancakes as you ate slowly noting on every flavor you could taste. Once you had finished you cleaned up the mess and gathered your school books as you sat on the couch and waited for Kaneki to take you to school. Thinking about it, this would be his first time back at school, everyone thinks he is dead. Well, the people who knew him. As you thought about it you heard a knock on the door. You quickly grabbed your bag with your non injured arm and opened the door with a smile to be greeted with a serious Kaneki. "Don't open the door so freely like that." You walked out of the door and locked it behind you. "What?! Why not?" He looked at you with concern. "Its not safe. You should know that." You looked at him strangely. Something was different, he was more....cold. "Hmm? What's got into you?" He started to walk off and it seemed like you were now talking to yourself. "Hey! W-wait up!" You ran over to him and flinched as you forgot about your injured shoulder. As soon as that sound came out of your mouth, Kaneki looked at you with worry and grabbed the bag off of you and put it over shoulder while carrying his own bag on the other. "Thanks." You looked down as you felt so weak. You hated this feeling. You wanted to be strong and brave like Luke, but you could never find the strength. You and Kaneki walked to school and you started to worry for Kaneki, people thought he was dead, especially Hide. Looking at the boy, you noticed he seemed to be on high alert as every now and then he would frantically look around. Arriving at the school gates, you instantly noticed Kaneki stiffen. Without thinking, you held his hand carefully. He flinched and then relaxed closing his eye and taking in a deep breath. "Hey! (y/n)!" You immediately let go of Kankei's hand and the warmth went away with his hand. Looking up to see Luke waving, he walked up next to you and hugged you. It being a reaction you hugged him back. "Hey, isn't that your bag?" You let go of him and looked at Kaneki who seemed to be struggling with something. But what really got you was that Luke didn't notice Kaneki was standing right in front of him...ALIVE. "Oh, yer haha." You said awkwardly as you took the bag from Kaneki and accidentally put it on your wounded shoulder. You flinched at the contact then moved it to the other shoulder. Looking at Luke like nothing has happened, he looked to be uncomfortable for some reason. "Hey Luke, are yo-" You stopped mid sentence as you saw Hide with his eyes on the bridge of tears past Luke's head. "K-Kaneki?" You looked at Kaneki as he seemed to still be struggling. He now had his hood over his head and his head down. Is....is he shivering?!  You looked back at Hide as he was walking over with disbelief all over his face.

As you were about to ask Kaneki what was wrong, Luke grabbed your arm and pulled you by his side. "Don't touch him." Luke now had a possessive side to him. What in the world is going on?.....
