What in the world is going on?

Kaneki's POV

It's been a month since i became a ghoul. I haven't been allowed in public places during the day since i haven't controlled my ghoul abilities just yet, and now that i am out here in the open surrounded by humans, i know why. It was too strong. The scent of their flesh all around me, it was all too much. I began to feel hot and flustered as my eye transformed underneath my eye patch. The scent of human flesh thrilled me as it entered my system. I couldn't get a hold of myself. I put my hood over my head and looked down clenching my teeth to hold the hunger that was inside of me. I began to shake and clenched my fists trying to fight the ghoul side of me. My hearing began to sound muffled as I tried to focus on controlling myself in a public place. I was determined not to turn out like those other monsters, i didn't want to harm humanity, but, this is now my life, trying to avoid the taste of human flesh that seemed to be everywhere i turned. This life, every single day of this damn life was pure hell. The only thing keeping me here is her...my beautiful (y/n). The hunger grew more as I smelt the blood running through the humans veins. The thing that scared me the most was not turning into a ghoul, but was hurting the one i loved. Ever since i got turned into a ghoul, my emotions have been heightened and my feelings towards (y/n) have been getting stronger by the day. Just as i was focusing my energy on (y/n), something caught me off guard. That smell, that same horrible smell of the ghoul that harmed (y/n), he was here, in the school. The first thing that popped in my head was that I have to protect her. I tried to concentrate on that one horrid scent but there were too many people around and i haven't got used to my abilities. It began to get worse, and if i don't get out of here now, it will all be to much and i won't be able to control myself. I had to leave, and i had to leave NOW before i could do any harm. 

I continued to shake as i heard my name....Hide....My eye widen as I looked up slightly and saw that Luke had his arms around (y/n)'s shoulders and Hide was beginning to walk over here. I could see the discomfort in her eyes as Luke had been putting pressure on her shoulder. This is NOT good. "(y/n), i-i have to g-go" Still shaking, i went to grab her arm, but i was stopped as Luke grabbed my wrist. I growled to myself as i couldn't move. I was starting to sweat under my jacket and it began to get hot. As i got closer to (y/n) I began to smell the blood that ran from her shoulder and onto her bandage making the once pure white cloth a crimson red. I started to clutch my stomach and take a couple steps back moving away from the two. I can't stand it anymore, the smell is just too strong. I could smell the blood type of every human in the school. I can just picture what it would be like to rip them apart and feed of their frail body's as they would scream for he- "K-Kaneki, is it r-really you?" Hide put his hand on my shoulder and i could feel the blood being pumped through his veins. Just the feel of his pulse made me linger over the flavor i would get if i just had one taste....NO.....STOP!!!  It felt like there were two people inside of me. One wanting to eat the flesh and one who wanted to just be normal again. I flinched and pushed him off me. I looked up fully now and i saw Hide for the first time in a month. "DON'T TOUCH ME!!" I looked at him furious. My face had an expression that looked like i was crazy, insane. The look on Hide's face told me everything, he was scared, afraid of me.....like i was a monster. He backed away to stand with Luke and (y/n). I looked at (y/n) and my face relaxed a little, but the agony was still visible. She stared at me with a concerned look in her eyes and didn't seem to be afraid like the other two. The look in her (e/c) orbs had a tint of lust and worry. Luke still had his arms around her as she tried to reach out to me. This made my blood boil even more. I know he is her best friend but does he really need to hold her like that? (y/n) tried to get out of Luke's grasp as he was still holding her protectively. "(y/n) i h-have to g-go" She still struggled in Luke's grip trying to help and comfort me. I stepped back weakly as i needed to get out of here, I don't want to hurt the one i love. I began to walk away as she screamed in pain. "WAIT!! KANEKI! COME BACK!" It hurt me to leave her but it was better than hurting her. But before i could make my escape, i felt someone grasp my arm. "LET GO OF ME!!!!" I yelled at them as i pushed them away not looking at who it was and focused on my next destination. I heard and felt the impact they made with the floor which made me stop in my tracks. As i looked over my shoulder, I felt pain run through my body as I saw who it was. My eye widen as i saw (y/n) on the floor holding her shoulder in pain as soft tears streamed down her (s/c) skin. She looked up and saw me standing in the distance as I looked at her with a sorrowful face. She then reached out her hand as in to say come back, but then Luke was by her side helping her up using the out stretched hand, at the same time he was death glaring me. There was now a commotion in the school as everyone gathered around (y/n) and Luke. It was all too much, i just need to get out of here and fast....
