Remembering that memory, that one memory that kept re playing in your head, that was why you deserved to be hurt. It should have been you that got bitten not Luke. He didn't deserve it, he was too kind and nice. If only i listened to Luke that day he would never have been hurt!! You began to walk faster realizing your cheek were beginning to get hotter. Your vision became blurry and the hot tears streamed down your warm cheek. You ran home wanting to get out of site and in the safety of your own home. That, that was the reason you never yelled out for help, because you deserved the pain. You deserved every bit of it without any hesitation. From that day on you promised yourself to protect Luke with your life, no matter how hard it got, or who hard it was to do. You swore to yourself that Luke would never be hurt like that again.

You woke up the next day your eyes swollen from crying all night. Remembering the promise you had made to Luke, you were determined to keep it. After that accident Luke changed. We wasn't that little imaginative kid anymore, he seemed to always put you first before him. Just like that day, if you were to get shot, he would jump in front of the bullet. You didn't want that, you wanted to be strong to defend for yourself. You wanted to make sure that Luke would no longer have to get hurt because of you. You sighed and got ready for school. Closing the front door behind you, you locked it and began to walk to school. Like usual, Luke was there with a big smile ready to walk you to school. "Morning sunshine! Have a good sleep?" Just the look of him standing there in front of you made you emotional. Although he never brought the accident up, you were just glad he was ok. You ran up to him and embraced him. He placed a warm hand on your back and rested his chin on your head. You smiled and looked up at him with grateful eyes. "I'm glad your safe." Luke looked at you and chuckled. "Ah (y/n), sometimes you just don't make any sense." He was right, sometimes you would speak nonsense and wouldn't know why you would say it, but, right there, in that moment, you knew exactly why you said it.

At school you tried to not bump into those girls. It was hard because they were at the same school as you, but, every now and then you could feel their eyes burning holes into your back. You also tried to avoid Luke while at school because you knew they would come back for you if you where near him. Remembering this morning you bandaged up your arm in hopes for Luke to not notice. He didn't. In fact, for all the times you had been hurt, you knew that you could never repay what happened to Luke. That pain in his voice when he got bit sounded excruciating. you cringed at the thought as the lunch bell rang taking you out of your daze. You were walking around the school and you noticed Kaneki and Hide coming towards you. You wondered if he still worried about you last night. "Hey (y/n)!" Hide said as he smiled, Kaneki just smiled and waved. He seemed different today, he seemed, less shy around me. You guys took a seat in the cafeteria and started talking. As you were about to eat, someone wrapped their arms around you. You looked up to find Luke smiling down at you. Looking around to see if the girls saw Luke hugging you. Taking a deep breath, they were no where to be seen. Kaneki noticed this and did the same, also finding no sign of them, he relaxed. Luke sat beside you and interacted with the boys. "So, Luke, how is it with all the ladies falling over heels in love with you all the time?" Hide questioned. "Haha, well Hide, its not just the ladies." With that Luke winked and then sighed. "It actually gets pretty annoying, they won't leave me alone sometimes." Hide looked at Luke surprised at how fast his attitude changed. "But still, gotta keep the ladies happy right? I mean, this face doesn't stay handsome itself." You rolled your eyes and nudged him in the arm. He just laughed at your weakness as Hide was still trying to find out if Luke was still being serious. His face said it all, poor Hide, he has a lot to learn about Luke....
