Sam wasn't like the Earth girls. They wore different clothes as her that showed too much of their skin. They talked fast and fluently, yet they couldn't read as well as Sam. They listened to different music that Sam couldn't even hear well. It was all mushed together. Sam could never understand them. She wasn't even from Earth.

Sam was from Jupiter. A crisis had caused her home planet to be pulled apart. Sam and her uncle got out, but her parents and sister didn't make it in time, and they had died. Sam now attended an Earth college. She skipped around the place. She had lived on Earth for 2 years now, and had made friends-- and enemies. She knew Thomas, Jonathan, and Victoria pretty well.

But there were 3 people that seemed to dislike her. Esmeralda, her sister Rae, and their friend Aaron. Aaron took a deep disliking to Sam. But Sam liked her Earth friends. She had not had friends on Jupiter. She had been home-schooled. Now her story begins, and a girl from Jupiter becomes a hero of Earth.

"Sam! There you are!" said Thomas, catching up to her. "Oh, hey, Thomas. What did you want to talk to me about?" Sam asked. "Do you remember what verisimilitude means?" he asked her. "Uh, not really. I think it might be an illusion," Sam answered. "Okay, thanks," Thomas said. They walked together to an Earth cafe. Starbucks thought Sam. That's what it's called. She was still getting used to the Earth.

Just as Sam and Thomas walked in, they ran into Aaron and Esmeralda. "Oh, great. Look who's here," Aaron said. "Aaron, what do you want? We're trying to get coffee," Sam said. She looked around. There were so many more people from Jupiter. She wasn't alone after all. "-Whatever. As if I was enjoying myself anyway," Aaron said as she stopped thinking about the people and started listening to him again. "I'm going," he said promptly. "Esmeralda?"

They both looked around to see Thomas and Esmeralda having a small chat. Esmeralda kept giggling and eventually blushed. Were they... flirting? Aaron seemed to notice this. He had a disgusted look on his face and politely asked Esmeralda to leave with him. Esmeralda waved bye to Thomas... and Sam? Earth girls are so weird, she thought. Thomas seemed lost as they got coffee and sat in chairs beside the window. He pulled out his phone and talked to Jonathan.

Heh, Sam thought to herself. Hopefully everything will be back to normal soon...
