MARC'S POV
"She said that—for real?" I couldn't help but ask Axel again as we sat side-by-side in the hospital waiting room, staring down the hall at a concerned Phil as he spoke quietly with Sean and Owen. Nothing good would come from this—there was also no doubt there would be an investigation to prove that Keelan had nothing to do with Sang's accident.
There was no way in hell I'd believe that gold-digging bitch over my Kee.
"She did. That's what she told Owen and Sean as soon as she woke up." Axel replied, deep in thought as he stared at the clock, ticking away. "Keelan has been with us all fucking day—you can't seriously believe her." I tried to reason with him, "Sang has hated Keelan from the moment she stepped foot in America. She's been trying to get rid of her, you can't argue with that."
"We still have to make sure,"
"Fine." I snarled, standing up before pacing the length of the waiting room. "But don't come crawling back to Keelan once you get enough proof. She's not prone to giving second chances."
"I'll be back soon. Stay here with Owen. I'm going to go see her." Axel rolled his eyes before leaving the room, allowing me to stare after him in exasperation. "How is she?" I wondered as Sean and Owen came back inside the room, taking a seat in front of me.
"She'll be fine," Sean sighed, "She just broke her left leg and fractured her collarbone. Nothing but a bit of time won't heal."
"That's good. Are her parents here yet?"
"Yes." Owen nodded, "They're in the room with her as we speak." He finished speaking before a tense silence erupted from the room as the three of us sat, staring at one another. Until I broke it.
"What are you going to do...about Keelan?" I asked, slightly taken aback as Owen's face hardened, "You can't believe Sang, right? All she's done since Keelan arrived was make her life hell—"
"I don't know what to believe anymore. What Sang told us is a serious accusation—I can't just let it go without looking for proof."
"As you've told Axel and the others, you've already talked to Keelan—and she told you she didn't have anything to do with it! You claim you have feeling for her, but you take Sang side on this?" I seethed, "All of you are unbelievable. Didn't you stupid motherfuckers think to check the cameras in your house?"
As I came to an end of my rant—Axel had already come back. "No." Owen swallowed hard, "Check them." Axel ordered, "She told me to get Victor to check the cameras."
"Get him to do it then." I gestured towards the hallway where Victor and Kota stood with a mocking smile, "I'll be waiting here—to see every single one of you get proven wrong," I sighed around a large grin whistle I leaned back, getting comfortable, "Sorry—continue." I urged, finally noticing them staring at my slouched form with a deadly glare.
"What time did the accident happen?" Victor questioned; eyes solely focused on the laptop screen in front of him. "Around two PM. That's what Sang told us when we asked her."
"Okay...I'm pulling it up now." Victor explained before tapping the touch screen of his laptop twice before turning it around for us to see. "It's starting off the second Sang entered the house. According to her, she was attacked after getting most of her things out."
"Sure." I snorted, rolling my eyes once the video feed began playing. I was tired of these stupid fuckers being so damn stupid. But I knew that soon, every single one of them would be proven wrong, and I couldn't wait to see them begging on their hands and knees for Keelan's forgiveness. Not that she would give it so soon.
When I finally decided to zone out for a couple minutes—I was soon jerked up by the elbow, before being dragged down the hall by Raven. "What the hell?" I mumbled, eyes frantically blinking as the rest of my brothers ran out of the hospital behind us. "We need to leave." Raven grunted, refusing to look at me as I smirked, "So? You finally saw the feed? And proved Keelan's innocence." I asked, somehow already knowing the answer to my question by the look on his face. "What's wrong, pouty puss? Scared she'll want nothing to do with any of you?"
"You're involved in this too, Marc." Axel snapped, allowing Raven in the driver's seat of the SUV as I buckled in. "I always believed Keelan, dipshit. I wasn't the one who turned my back on her. I never once doubted her—so no, I'm not involved in this."
"Where is she?" I asked, swallowing hard and closing my eyes as Raven took a sharp turn, making my head hit the window. "S-She's at the Blackbourne house. When I got there, she was packing her things." Axel admitted, looking at his hands guilty. "What are you hiding from us?" I demanded, feeling my heart drop as he continued to stare at his hands in silence.
"Tell us goddamn it!" my voice continued to get louder, as did the racing of my heart as the rain continuously pelted down on the windows.
"I made her cry." He confessed, sounding close to tears himself. "Why the fuck would you do that? Nothing had been proven at that time—just why?" I asked, yet again as a cold glare settled onto my features. "I don't know! Okay? I just don't know."
"By the time we get there, she could already be gone." Corey swallowed, glancing nervously outside the window. "What will we do if she's gone?"
"I don't know." Were the only words I could spit out as my fists clenched and unclenched as my focus wavered. I was angry—and most of all disappointed in my brothers and friends. How could they believe another women over the women that we loved—or I loved? If they truly and purely loved her the way I did, they would never second guess her.
I knew her better than that.
Keelan was not malicious or cruel—or even vindictive. Sure, she didn't have any love for Sang. But who could really blame her by the way Sang has treated her in the past? But she wouldn't hurt her or try to kill her on purpose.
That I knew in my heart.
"When are we getting there?" I wondered, wincing as a blast of lightening blasted across the sky. "In about five minutes. If we aren't careful, we could crash in this weather." Brandon put in from beside me. "Well, we better hurry." I sighed.
-------- "Finally!" I sighed in relief as the car came to a stop in front of the blackbourne house, "Seems like the others made it on time." I observed, jumping out of the SUV, letting the heavy rain fall onto my body as I searched around the area.
"Is Keelan inside?" I yelled over to Victor as he jumped out his car. "I don't know, Marc! We must check first."
"Sorry!"
For some odd reason, I had a bad feeling about this. I hope she was still here, so I could take her into my arms and hold her close. I can't lose her because of my idiotic brothers, who didn't appreciate her the way I did, I loved her too much to let her go.
"She's gone." Owen spoke quietly standing beside me as I spluttered and wiped the water off my face and out of my eyes. "What?" My mouth dried up in an instant as I swallowed harshly, looking over towards him, trying to meet his eyes.
"She's over there." He pointed, his eyes not wavering from the car—feet away from the driveway as it slowly pulled out onto the road. "Why are you standing there? We have to go after her!" I cried, not hiding the panic from my voice. "Leave her be, Marc. She doesn't want anything to do with us. Not after what we did." Axel told me solemnly, placing a firm hand on my shoulder as tears welled in my eyes. I didn't have the strength to will them away as my eyes never strayed from the retreating car.
"It's not we Axel. This is all of you." I snarled, waving a hand to the others as we all stood out in the pouring rain.
"All of you ruined everything."
A/N:
It broke my heart to write this. But it had to be done.
I hope I did Marc justice!
Also, I'm very, very excited to introduce Daphne, Alec, and Karon! I've been thinking of adding these three new characters for some time, and it'll definitely add some spice.
What would you like to see happen next?
Should Marc hop on a plane to Ireland without notifying his brothers?
OR
Should Marc call up one of his academy friends, asking them to keep an eye on Keelan until he's able to fly to Ireland?
Anyways, I hope you enjoyed the chapter, and I'm sorry for being gone so long! Thank you all for over 1.17k votes on Keelan, over 900 votes on Aries, and over 2k votes on Brett! It means the absolute world to me! Thank you!
Love you <3
