"What did you just say?" Mr. Blackbourne aka Sweets asked as his breath caught into his throat before he swallowed hard.
"I'm kidding, Sweets. I didn't take you for the type of person to immediately believe what I say." Did I put a hidden jab behind my words? Yup.
"Relax Sweets," I grinned as his hands slowly moved from the window behind my head. "Are the others already back?"
I honestly wanted to know why they had broken up with Sang -- at her house no less -- but it probably wouldn't be the best idea.
"Luke and Sean are at home, the rest of them are out getting a couple things for dinner." He explained, putting the BMW into drive and started cruising back down the road.
"Alright." I nodded with a tired sigh as we finally pulled into the driveway of his house, and stepped put of the car.
"Come, Luke and Sean are waiting for you." He told me, giving me a teeny tint smile as he took my bags from my hands before I could start towing them across the yard myself.
"Thanks," I murmured uncomfortably, I wasn't used to him carrying my things for me.
Was it something I needed to get used to from now on? I hoped not - Mr. Blackbourne's attitude was starting to freak me the fuck out.
"Come in," Mr. Blackbourne nodded towards the door, "I'm coming..." I rolled my eyes as his cheeks tinted before I stepped inside. "When did you get back?" I asked him as I grabbed my bags from his unrelenting grip. "We arrived last night." He raised a brow, "Did you use my bathroom while we were away?" He asked, trying to strike up a conversation.
"I haven't spent a night here since you all left--so no." I shrugged, "But I'll still use your tub when you're gone." I spoke with a wry smile.
"I wouldn't expect anything less." Mr. Blackbourne retorted, looking like he could laugh. "Good." I grinned up at him before he ushered me inside the living room.
"Hi Luke!" I laughed, before hugging him back tightly as he swung me into his arms. "I've missed you Kee." He grinned, winking down at me as he twirled us around in circles.
"Hey Sean." I waved to the curly blonde smiling widely in my direction. "It's wonderful to see your beautiful face," He winked.
"Uh--Okay." I replied confused as the smile on his face twitched before I gripped the bags in my hands unsurely, "I'm going to go unpack." I told them, smiling slightly before I turned and practically ran down the hallway by the kitchen to the guest room, I had been staying in.
I tried to ignore the hurt looks on Mr. Blackbourne and Sean's face, but the truth is I didn't know how to react to them--act around them while they were being...nice? accepting? It would take some getting used to, I suppose. "Finally..." I sighed smiling as I flopped back on the bed after I finished putting all of my clothes in my suitcases on the floor.
I still hadn't unpacked fully.
I HAD BEEN SNOOZING for about twenty minutes before Luke knocked on my door. "Come in." I called out to him as he peeked his head through the door. I sighed and closed my eyes once he shut the door and flopped down beside me. "The guys are back -- cooking dinner now. Are you going to eat with us?" He asked, his mischievous eyes pleading. "I don't know," I shrugged, eyes downcast as I stared at the threading of the comforter underneath us. I just now realized that I had never eaten with them before, in fear of Sang slipping fucking poison into my food or drink, I wouldn't put it past her, if I was being totally honest with myself. "Well? Are you going to eat with us? Please..." He whined with a large grin as he watched my resolve crumble.
"Fine. But I am not sitting next to the brute."
"Deal. Anyways, I don't think North will bother you anymore." He told me, pulling my body up off of the bed. "Let's go! You can help me with the final preparations." I nodded and walked behind him as we left the guest room and hurried down the hallway. "Finally! I didn't think you would ever convince her!" Gabriel yelled from the kitchen.
"She never seems to deny me! Isn't that right my little cupcake?" Luke cooed jokingly as I shoved him playfully. "Shut up!" I giggled loudly, gaining the attention of most of the room, not that I noticed, of course. "Come on! North's making plates." Luke grinned and pulled me inside the dining room and sat me down beside him.
"Cool." I replied, observing my nail beds to keep myself from shifting uncomfortably as they stared at me. "Why do you keep looking at me?" I snapped, finally having enough as I grabbed my plate from North's hand before giving him a polite nod.
I didn't like him, but I was still a decent human being. Without a second though they looked away from me, blushing slightly. Luke squeezed my knee, reassuringly as we started eating. It was awkward as hell in here, but I tried my best to ignore it. Why were they acting like this?
"How was your time staying with the Toma Team?" Sean asked, trying to strike a friendly conversation. "It was great! Axel's been teaching me a lot, and Brandon takes me to the shop to help him work." I smiled and sipped from the glass of water Luke had given me.
"It seems you had fun." Mr. Blackbourne clenched his jaw; he knew that what I had said earlier had been the truth. "I definitely did." I giggled, my cheeks flushing brightly as Luke and the others stared in confusion.
"What the hell!?" I screeched jumping in my seat as the wine glass in Mr. Blackbourne's hand shattered, startling everybody in the room. "Are you okay?" I felt guilty, I wanted to be able to tick him off a little--mess with him. Fuck, I didn't mean for him to injure himself.
"I am fine." He hissed, getting up from his seat before he stalked upstairs. "What just happened?" Nathan asked causing most of them to smirk; "I think Owen had just met is match." Sean said, getting up from his seat. "I better check on his hand." He called running up the stairs before coming down with a childish pout.
"He refuses to let me inside his room!" He spoke loudly, plopping back down on his chair. "You have to make him let us in." Sean leveled his stare at me as I shook my head, "I'm good. You're the doctor, dipshit. You deal with him." There was no way in hell I was going up there...he would fucking kill me and bury me in his big-ass closet.
"Come on, go do it. What's the worst that can happen?" Victor asked with a small smile as I crossed my arms over my chest. "He may throw me out of the fucking window!" I cried, throwing my arms up.
"You aren't going to make me go up there...are you?" I swallowed hard as smirks grew on their faces. "I don't think we'll have to Pumpkin." Sean laughed, looking directly behind me. "What? What's that fucking look for---hey!" I yelled as I was grabbed from behind and thrown onto a firm shoulder. "Put me down!" I screamed as I was toted upstairs, whoever was carrying me was strong as fuck.
"Oy! That was my nuts! Be careful you little shit!" Gabriel yelled as he carried me up the stairs, "Listen here, dickhead. I will bust your fucking nuts with my bare hands and sneak neon green hair dye in you shampoo if you don't put me down!"
"Fine! There you go, Princess. Bye!" Gabriel winced as he sat me down and started running back down. "Motherfucker!" I screamed after him before looking around to see where I was.
When I had noticed that I had been placed before Mr. Blackbourne's bedroom door, I tried to make a run for it--unfortunately Mr. Blackbourne had opened his door, pulled me inside, and pressed my body against the wall before I had the chance to scream.
"Uh--Hi."
