They were now walking around the island, talking about their previous adventures and events. Kazuha talked about his travels with the Crux, and Gorou talked about his missions in the resistance.
"To be completely honest... It has been boring without you." Gorou mumbled, Kazuha looking up to meet his eyes. He smiled slightly, reaching out to pet Gorou's head. Gorou closed his right eye and giggled a little.

As Kazuha's hands wandered through Gorou's messy hair, he noticed a shade of pink on Gorou's cheeks. He raised his eyebrow a little, rubbing Gorou's head slightly harder.
"I like this..." Gorou spoke, enjoying the cuddles he got from Kazuha. It had been a while since someone had given Gorou head pats, and he was extremely happy about it now. Especially since it was his best friend. Kazuha studied Gorou's pleased face , watching as his expression changed a little from time to time. He eventually stopped, and pulled away slowly.

"Where shall we go next, Gorou?" Kazuha spoke, Gorou shaking his head and ruffling his hair - messing it up again, even more.
"Hmm... Perhaps my place? We could sit outside, watching the sunset?" Gorou suggested. The thought of sitting with Gorou alone, watching the sun go down made Kazuha's hands slightly sweaty. He cleared his throat and nodded, agreeing to that.
Kazuha's face heated up a little, and he could hear his own heartbeat.

Kazuha's mind: "What the hell. What's happening?? Kazuha, pull yourself together. This isn't like you. Gorou's just my friend, nothing more...!"

He looked at Gorou as they walked in the direction where Gorou's cabin was located. He bit his bottom lip in secret, and was lost in thought at the moment. Gorou was babbling about all his adventures, but Kazuha simply couldn't pay attention.

Kazuha's mind, again: "I don't know what's happening. My feelings towards Gorou. It's friendship. Close friendship. Right?"

But no. Kazuha's feelings were more than friendship, he just found it hard to accept - mostly because he was scared Gorou didn't feel the same. Feelings were so scary to Kazuha. He was scared to get too attached.
After what happened to his friend all those years ago... Kazuha just couldn't fall in love again. Out of pure fear.

            "Gorou... Please don't ever leave me.
        Tomo was enough... I can't lose you too."
