I awoke in a starlit forest. Where am I? I wondered as I stood up.
A brown cat, with stars in her fur, came to me.
I asked "Who are you? And where am I?"
She smiled "My name is Aspenbranch. And you are in StarClan."
I gasped. I remembered her! She had visited my pack when I was a young kit. "But why am I here?"
Her eyes turned from gleeful to worried. She said "The time has come. You are the fifth cat. Meet a tree on the moor tonight for more instruction."
I stared at her "But... What does it mean?" I asked.
"It will all make sense when the time comes." She said as she began fading.
"No come back! I need to know more!"
But it was too late. She was gone.
I jolted awake and yowled "Blaze!"
He was in my den at once. He mewed "What happened? More SwiftPack nightmares?"
I shook my head "Aspenbranch visited me. You remember her right?"
His eyes lit up "Of course! But in your dreams? Something about that doesn't seem right Kaylee."
"Well she told me this. The time has come. You are the fifth cat. Meet a tree on the moor tonight for more instruction. What does this mean?"
"It seems like some sort of prophecy. I have no idea what it means by meeting a tree on the moor. What's a moor? And why would there be a tree on it? Unless it's the name of a cat I don't see how it would work."
"I don't either. Now, send Inara in here to speak with me about Hailey and Aspen tonight."
He nodded and headed out of my den. Aspenbranch, what were you telling me? I wonder as Inara padded in.
"Yes Kaylee?" She asked.
"Inara, I need you to come with me."
"For what?"
"Aspenbranch told me to meet a tree on the moor. Pick your new leader now, it's not my responsibility."
She nodded and I headed to the entrance "Let the Pack gather!"
The pack gathered around my perch as I spoke "Cats, I unfortunately must be leaving the pack, and Inara shall be coming with me. I am going to the Clans, for I have been troubled in my dreams. Inara, please pick the new leader of SwiftPack."
She nodded and said "The new leader of SwiftPack shall be Eagle."
Eagle was shocked as he came up. I nodded to him and headed for the entrance to camp, saying my final goodbyes.
We were a good distance away when I smelled something. I turned around to see Tiny, one of Fawn's kits. I asked "What are you doing?"
She mewed "Let me come! I don't want to be in the pack!"
I turned to Inara "Should we?"
She sighed "Might as well."
I nodded and beckoned her to follow.
Soon, very soon, we reached Clan territory. I nervously took one step over the scent line and motioned with my tail for the other two to follow. We began following scents until a voice called "Halt!"
We whipped around to see a black and white she-cat stalking towards us "What are you doing here?"
"My name is Kaylee. And I need to speak with your healer."
"I think you've found her. My name is Birchwing."
