[Search for the unknown beauty]
Hiranyakshipu was the demon king of the Asuras, a race of powerful and evil beings who opposed the gods. He had conquered the three worlds and defied the authority of Vishnu, the supreme lord of the universe. He was arrogant, cruel, and ruthless, and he had no love in his heart.
But after his encounter with a beautiful and brave woman in the Manosarovar lake, something stirred within him. He had seen many women in his conquests, but none could compare to her grace and radiance. Her skin was fair and smooth, her hair was long and dark, her eyes were large and golden. She wore a pink silk saree that draped over her slender figure, adorned with pearl ornaments that sparkled in the light. She looked like a goddess incarnate, and he felt unworthy of her presence. His evil egoistic spirit could sense a gentle and compassionate spirit in that woman. When he tried to know the whereabouts of the woman by catching her hands, her determined and courageous voice charmed his ears. But she got away when he was thinking about her. Hiranyakshipu was captivated by her beauty and bravery, and he desired to make her his own.
He became obsessed with her, and he forgot everything else. He neglected his duties as a king, he ignored his ministers and generals, and he abandoned his challenges and wars with other creatures. He spent all his time and energy in pursuing the woman, who slipped away from his grasp.
He became frustrated and angry, but also more determined and desperate. He ordered his army and spies to search for her everywhere, and to bring her to him alive. He offered rewards and threats to anyone who could help him find her. He swore that he would not rest until he had her in his arms.
Then the door of the royal chamber swung open with a loud bang, startling the Demon King.
A woman walked in, her steps confident and firm. She was dressed in a dazzling gold outfit that matched her jewelry. Her face had a demonic aura and her eyes shone with a fierce light.
She is the demon mother Diti, the powerful and feared leader of the asuras.
The Demon King waited with bated breath for her to speak.
Diti: My son, why do you look so restless and unhappy? What is troubling you?
Hiranyakshipu: Mother, I have a secret that I cannot share with anyone. It is a weakness that torments me day and night. It is a curse that I cannot escape.
Diti: What is it, my son? You can tell me anything.
Hiranyakshipu: Mother, do you remember the day when I went to the Manosarovar lake for a walk?
Diti: Yes, of course. So what happened on that day?
Hiranyakshipu: Well, mother, there is something that I did not tell you about that day. Something that changed my life forever.
Diti: What is it, my son?
Hiranyakshipu: Mother, on that day, when I was walking in the lake, I saw a woman. A woman, dressed in a pink sari, picking up the pink lotuses from the lake. She was singing a sweet song, praising Lord Vishnu. She had a radiant smile on her face and a gentle glow in her eyes. She was the most beautiful woman I had ever seen.
Diti: And then what happened?
Hiranyakshipu: Mother, I don’t know what came over me, but I felt an irresistible attraction towards her. I wanted to talk to her, to touch her, to make her mine. I only thought of her.
Diti: Did you ask who she is?
Hiranyakshipu: Mother, I tried to talk to her and know about her forcefully. But she defied me and escaped from my clutches. She is a devotee of Vishnu, the enemy of our race. I must find her and punish her for her insolence.
Diti: My son, calm yourself. What is this simple girl to you? Why do you care so much about her?
Hiranyakshipu: She doesn't look like just any girl, mother. She is very beautiful and brave. She caught my eye that day. I tried to capture her and make her my consort, but she somehow escaped and fled. She said she would never bow to me or any other demon. She said she only worships Vishnu, the lord of all.
Diti: How dare she! She is a fool to reject you, my son. You are the most powerful and glorious demon in the world.
Hiranyakshipu: That is true, mother. I have searched everywhere for her, but I cannot find her. She might be protected by Vishnu’s grace. I want to find her and make her mine. I want to break her will and make her worship me instead of Vishnu. I want to show her who is the real lord of all.
Diti: My son, you are obsessed with this girl. You are wasting your time and energy on a trivial matter. You have bigger things to worry about. The gods are plotting against you. They are waiting for an opportunity to strike you down. They have sent their spies and agents to infiltrate your kingdom and sow discord among your subjects.
Hiranyakshipu: I will take care of it later. I will surely find out about her.
Mother, do you know who might be she?
After thinking for sometime,
Diti: As much as I know, Manosarovar lake is near the kingdom of sea serpants. Jambha is the king of the sea serpants. I have heard from nearby kingdoms that he has a daughter named Kayadhu who is not only beautiful like the moon but also has wisdom. She was taught by the seven sages.
Hiranyakshipu: Thank you, mother! Now I will take my whole army and attack the sea serpant kingdom. I will capture their citizens and the royal family and force the King to handover his dear daughter to me. HaHaHa!
Hiranyakshipu found out about Kayadhu. How will the King protect his kingdom and his dear daughter?
