For the first time in weeks the diner wasn't as busy. Of course it was because it was a Monday, but it was usually busy any day. She decided to turn on the speakers and play some calming instrumentals for the 10 tables that were filled or semi filled. Usually if not all the time the speakers were off because no one ever thought about it or had time to get it set up and find a playlist.

"Y/n hun, take table 18 and 9 for me, will you?" her uncle went behind the counter into the back.

"Sure thing!" She exclaimed as she hit the keypad with her fingers. "Your total is 48.89."  The man handed her the card and smiled at the woman next to him, she scanned it, printed the receipt out and handed him his card wrapped in the smooth paper. "There you go, have a nice night!"

"You too!" They left. Y/n took her hat off and grabbed her notepad again.

"I'm going out!" She yelled from the counter, no response meant she was good to go. She went out to the tables and put on a big smile. Her first table was 18 which had been waiting 10 minutes.

"Hi, I'll be your waitress tonight, are you all ready to order?" Her eyes instinctively wandered all over the place, she suffered horribly at eye contact yet she never got a single order wrong until today. She spotted a familiar yellow spike sticking out from behind the table behind the one she was serving.

"Oh my God I'm so sorry! I really am, could you repeat that please? i'll get it this time I promise."

Y/n paid attention to the best of her abilities but that face she saw once kept reappearing in her head. She shrugged it off and continued to the kitchen to finalize the order. She had hoped she was busy the rest of the night or got released early so she could go home, at one point she thought about pretending to fall and bust her head, anything to get away from the both of them.

Kaminari could be pretty stupid sometimes. Originally, he came to the diner to surprise Y/n but as he was waiting for her to switch roles someone he knew found him and sparked a conversation with him

"Aunt Kioko? What are you doing here?"

"Denki!" She exclaimed as she sat down in the booth across from him. "I was just in town to see your mother, I didn't think you came to a place like this."

"I'm just waiting for my girlfriend. Oh! Rumi was just telling me about your little relationship, when is she coming?"

"Oh whenever I guess, she's got a few tables so she might be a while."

"Oh she works here?!"

"Yeah."

"Oh that's just adorable! I bet you two are so cute together--she should come over for dinner tonight! I told your mom I'd cook tonight--oh please it would be wonderful!"

"I mean...if she wants to...." Denki rubbed the back of his head. As much as he wanted to advance with Y/n and for her to become part of his family, he wasn't too sure about his aunt meeting her just yet.

"Can you ask? please! I'm only in town for so long."

"Is Dai here too?"

"Of course! I can't leave him alone anywhere--"

"No."  Denki furrowed his eyebrows and looked away. He felt like punching a wall just thinking about his evil cousin.

"Oh come on! It's been three years I thought you would've gotten over it by now."

"Yeah well I haven't. If he's there I'm not coming home."

"Fine, I'll put him in a cage for you."

"Really?"

"No! She laughed lightly, then straightened herself in a serious manner. "You and your mom need to stop treating my son like an animal, he's not the best kid but he's no monster!"

"Of course he's not a monster, he's Satan himself, the embodiment of evil, every sin wrapped into one human--"

"Alright that's enough! I'll admit he gives people a hard time, but he's not evil! He's an immature kid who needs help. And all I'm asking is for you two to have dinner with us, and I will make sure he behaves, please!"

"..." Denki sighed. "I'll ask, but y'know if she's busy it's a big fat no."

Katsuki furrowed his eyebrows. "Are you saying I'm lying?" He hissed.

"No, I said what I said. This doesn't seem like something Kaminari would do."

"Well it is! It's been months now!"

"Months?" Aizawa repeated, stroking his chin. "Describe to me, in great detail, what incidents have occurred so far." He pulled out a recorder and clicked it. He leaned back in his chair and crossed his arms.

Katsuki inhaled. "He's always been off. The first incident that I know was the coffee in the study hall, like I told you, I was just using the bathroom when I heard them yelling and I only went into the study hall because I thought she was under attack or something. But it was just him forcing her to do something so I pushed him." He paused and looked up at Aizawa who nodded for him to continue, he looked back down at the floor. "The second time was when she missed those two days of school. She doesn't have a phone so I went to go check on her. She was on her bed, bleeding. It wasn't enough to kill her but it was a lot--doctor said she overdosed when she tried to take something for the pain when I found her unconscious. Her brother told me he saw the idi--Kaminari...do it. yellow hair, lightning bolt, U.A uniform."

"Now she has a black eye, and she didn't get it from training. That pin--Mina! She told me about some scars on her back, I don't know about that, but she didn't get those from training either." The recorder clicked and Aizawa exhaled.

"U.a doesn't condone any type of abuse or assault, we're very--highly strict on that."

"So do something!"

"A case like this is highly sensitive. I'll proceed with questioning and--"

"She's not going to tell you anything! Why do you think she hasn't already?! I'm telling you what's happening and you still don't believe me! Why don't we just go in and arrest the god damn idiot!"

"We have to follow protocol, calm down Bakugo. We can question her all we want and she can deny even if the proof is right there. But we need her to willingly come forward, especially since we don't know why she hasn't come for help yet. If we make the wrong move it could lead to dire consequences. You can see this is a sensitive situation, so approaching this calmly and keeping your head clear is the most important thing right now."

The blonde huffed and stood up. "Your protocol is gonna get her killed."

"I recently found that having a little hope in people helps me get through things, why don't you try it?"

"You think you're funny old man? Wait until she shows up to school for the last god damn time, because nobody gives a shit to do anything about it!" he slammed the door and exhaled angrily as he walked down the hall. Aizawa put his feet on the table and rubbed his chin, he let the insult pass for now, it wasn't a mystery to anyone that he had feelings for Y/n, it was an expected reaction. The only problem now was that he actually wasn't sure what to do. He knew what to do, but he wasn't sure if it was right. Regardless, he still had to follow protocol and question Y/n and keep an eye on Kaminari.

After Kioko, Denki's aunt, left the restaurant, he stayed for a few hours until Y/n got off. The only chance he got to talk to her was during her break and he had been too scared to talk to her. It was odd because around her was when he was most confident but he couldn't bring himself to ask her until he was walking her home.

"Hey, Y/n." He said as they slowed paces. "Yeah?" She looked over at him.

"My family is having dinner and... they want to meet you." She walked with that thought for a moment. There wasn't much he could do to her around people, and she didn't have homework to do. Yet as much as she wanted to meet the people who raised Denki, she had a list of things she had to do before she could even shower.

"I would love to."

She couldn't find it in herself to say no. She had to meet these people. The one thing she was willing to do, Denki dreaded.

Then, a few hours later after she put her brothers to sleep and cleaned her room and finally got in the shower (having to cut her list short to fit it in just before they left). Denki waited outside of the house while she got ready. He wanted to take in the nice air before he had to go back home to his house that was infected by an evilness from a certain little dick of a child.

When she was finally done, she put on a pair of earrings as she walked outside, wearing a regular shirt and jeans,  she looked nice with the earrings she put on and upon seeing her face Denki was a little bit happier.

Once they arrived at the doorstep of his house they already heard some commotion, he reached the top door step and grabbed the doorknob before turning to Y/n.

"Y/n, I hate to do this but when we go in, I have to change so....you'll be by yourself for a few minutes." He looked more upset than he wanted her to be, perhaps hoping she'd ask him to stay but Y/n just nodded as he opened the door for her. The loud chatter became quieter and Denki's mom, Harumi, looked straight at her, a mean look in her eyes, Y/n backed up into Denki and he nudged her forward.

"Oh Denki!" His aunt exclaimed. The two walked towards the marble kitchen to greet everyone and before Y/n stepped foot in the area Denki departed and went upstairs.

The mean face that almost scared Y/n off was just a look of curiosity. "Denki didn't tell me he was having company." Harumi said with a soft smile as she held her hand out, Y/n shook her hand. "I told him to bring his girlfriend! I think we should all get to know each other--especially since it's very rare we have a family gathering like this."

"Yeah but, I was informed about this decision, Kioko."

"I thought you'd like it anyway." They both aggressively smiled at each other, then Narihana turned to Y/n with a more genuine smile. "What's your name dear?"

"Y/n, L/n. it's nice to meet you."

"Oh you too. You can call me Rumi--this is my husband Kenaku and my sister, Kioko and-- wheres Dai?" She looked over Y/n's shoulder into the living room but no sign.

"He was just right--Oh Lord, let me find him before he causes any trouble." Kioko left up the stairs, Harumi pulled a chair out of Y/n and sat across from her.

"What do you see in that idiot?" His dad said, not looking up from his phone even after receiving a hit from Harumi.

"Jesus! Can you ever use your manners?! I'm starting to think you don't have any."

"I don't."

"Well, what do you see in our son? I know how he can be, so..."

"I mean he's-he's nice, he's outgoing, and he's really smart...and nice..." Y/n's face was heating up, not from the typical butterfly feeling you get when asked about your significant other but the fear you get when you're deathly afraid of saying the wrong thing.

Five minutes into their awkward conversation. Kioko, and her son came downstairs. So did Denki, two minutes later after mustering up the energy to deal with his family. When he came down, everyone was socializing just fine without him, it made him question whether he should join them or not so he decided to sit at the bottom of the stairs and play on his phone until they noticed him. And it sure did take a while...

"Oh electricity is an awesome quirk to have--but lightning? Y/n, that sounds amazing. Your parents must have the same quirk then?"

"I know that my mom did, I'm not sure about my dad."

"it's awesome that you fit right in here!" Kioko exclaimed. "You have to show me what it looks like."

"Oh...I would but...it's not really for indoor use..." She trailed off as her eyes wandered to Denki, on the steps in his pajamas.

"Oh you won't break anything, trust me, Dai has tried to."

"What?" The kid said, looking up from his phone on the table.

"Nothing honey." Kioko waved him away then smiled at Y/n. "That's fine, just some other time! I just haven't quite met someone with a similar quirk as our families, you and Denki are perfect for each other!"

"You think so?" She said shyly.

"Y/n, have you  ever heard of a quirk marriage?"

"No, what's that?"

"Kioko!" Harumi hissed through her teeth. "Can you stop that, they're kids!"

"They're old enough to know, there is no harm in knowledge! I just want her to at least consider marrying my nephew to continue mom's dream, don't you? Rumi."
