12. 𝐅𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐥, 𝐋𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞!
"Bakugo?!" Y/n almost spit her drink out upon seeing the board. "No!" She cried. "Is he that bad?" Kirishima laughed.
"You should know, you just got your ass handed to you by him." Sero nudged him, Kirishima elbowed him and he coughed.
"Don't worry Y/n! I'm sure you know a lot about him and his quirk." Midoriya reassured her but failed badly.
"Actually I don't know anything, I never asked him at all. All I know is he explodes things."
"His sweat," Midoriya started. "it's because of his sweat, he excretes a chemical that he ignites, which causes the explosions. I'm not sure what you can do with that, but at least you know?" She sighed and looked at her palm where lightning danced in her hand. "I'll throw lightning at him." She muttered, somehow, Izuku had heard her.
"How are you gonna do that? It's not a....ball? Wait, did you not mean literally??"
"No I meant literally, I'm gonna throw lightning at him. I know exactly how to fight now." Or at least she had an idea of how to, it was all experimental, like her last two fights. The only difference now was perhaps confidence. She didn't want to win, she just wanted to give it all she had.

She found herself at the gate so suddenly, it felt like it hadn't even been 20 minutes.
"L/n Y/n versus Bakugo Katsuki! Things are about to get hot in here!"
She raised an eyebrow at his remark as she walked onto the platform. The bandages around her neck had completely fallen off before she walked out. The only reason she still had them on was so that no one saw the nasty fading bruise around her neck.
BEGIN!
Katsuki charged towards her with an explosion, she was immediately knocked off of her feet coughing as she accidentally inhaled the smoke. "Don't you dare! You better give it your all or I'm gonna fight you on my own time! You got that?!" Y/n stood up and sighed, it was the first direct hit she had purposely taken this entire time, she had come to the conclusion. A huge grin took over her face. "What are you smiling for?" he said, they both took a fighting stance. Behind the grin was a ton of worry.
He charged again with another explosion ready, Y/n attempted to weave it but the explosions went so far it was impossible not to lose her balance as soon as it hit her. She quickly got back up and backed up, not too close to the edge, and not too close to him.
She was starting to think of a different plan, but he wouldn't allow her--he charged again--weave--smack!--charge--weave--smack!--Charge--smack!--Weave--smack!--charge--smack!--smack!--smack! She had been hit so many times that once she finally was given a minute to collapse, she couldn't even get back up, her jacket was torn to shreds, only hanging on by her right shoulder and her pant legs only covering above her knees now. The crowd was booing the fight. Y/n was letting him win and he was taking advantage of it--or at least that's what it looked like.
"Ooh smokey! Is she gonna use her quirk? or forfeit? What do you think, Eraser?"
No answer, the man himself was too focused on the fight, or from what he could see through his bandages.
Y/n stood up again, before she even raised her knees he was charging again, this time she had charged back she raised her hand and at the same time he raised his she put her hand on his shoulder as he aimed to smack her left shoulder--BOOM! Katsuki received a taste of his own quirk for once the two had been blown back by two different explosions. The cloud of smoke was that greater than the ones before, the entire platform and beyond had been engulfed in cloudy thick smoke. His eyes widened as his head slid on the concrete. He desperately wanted to know how she achieved such a thing. He stood up, Y/n too not long after him. His eyes were wide and he had such a shocked expression, she couldn't tell if it was a good or a bad thing.
He put his hand up from where he was, aiming his sweaty palms directly at her. Y/n had lightning jumping off of her this time it was much more than usual, a lot more, it probably spread out at least 7 feet away from her, she was engulfed In what looked like a ball of lightning. Katsuki's palm lit up with bright light. Her ball of light was gradually getting bigger and thicker, he could no longer see her face because of how much lightning there was, along with that was a huge gust of wind pushing him back.
Come on! Come on! She thought to herself, her face was a burning red from pushing her quirk beyond its limit, when she had never reached her limit before. For some reason, Katsuki hesitated before letting out another explosion, the tornado of lightning spun even faster, suddenly it was just a ball of light, something so bright his eyes couldn't even take it. Y/n raised her hands as she would a lightning rod, the ball shrunk a little and in the blink of an eye she was holding the huge ball of lightning she had created above her head. Her hair couldn't even take the wind, and neither could Katsuki. He smiled. It was thrilling to him. He put his bent elbows to his side, his palms facing the ground as he was ready for takeoff at any moment.
She started to put her hand down, ready to discharge the 900 million volts she was holding in her hands, she panted as sweat dripped down her nose. She breathed, and breathed and suddenly she couldn't feel her breath anymore. She had noticed his hands, and realized how trapped she was.
"You win, Katsuki."
Y/n threw the ball of lightning down and let out a sigh, it was covered by the explosion that went off immediately after, Katsuki flew through the sky to avoid being electrocuted and her lightning struck the ground so hard the entire platform blew up--a piece struck Y/n in her forehead while she was in the air, she had already been knocked unconscious then immediately after, he knocked her into the grass with an explosion, she hit the ground.
"Bakugo Advances!"

"Kaminari, why do you like Y/n so much?" Sero asked, looking over his shoulder at Y/n, who had just passed them but not noticed them talking by the door.
"Because we have so much in common! She's so beautiful--the nicest person I've ever met. She's so special, so smart. She makes me feel like anything is possible."
"Oh man, I never took you for a lover boy--"
"But," he continued. "I don't know what I'd do if someone touched her," he said darkly. Sero cocked his head to the side. "It's like Bakugo's trying to compete with me."
"Compete for what? Y/n's clearly chosen already, and I think he's already touched her." He laughed, looking over his shoulder again at the two, Katsuki had his hand on her lower back as they walked, Kaminari looked over as well and furrowed his eyebrows.
"Yeah? Well--that's--that's nothing compared to what we've done."
"What have you done?" His tone sounded as if he had no faith in him.
"We--Mind your business Sero!" His hesitation wasn't because he was bluffing, it was because he vowed no one would ever find out what happened that day, what he did to her that night, what he has in his room, or anything about his obsession. No one.

"Y/n, why don't you like me?"
"What do you mean Denki?" She chuckled awkwardly, more awkward than normally. She moved an inch away again, any more and she would fall off of the bed. "You don't--you don't talk to me, you don't smile at me anymore, you don't hug me, you think I'm a monster, don't you?"
She so desperately wanted to scream at the top of her lungs, but she couldn't worry her brothers, and he was more than capable of shutting her up if need be. "I've just been tired, and busy--"
"Just for me though right? You have time to talk to Bakugo or sero--Midoriya--it's just me isn't it? You've been avoiding me, don't lie to me!"
"Yes I have! You just--you make me feel this...way, I can't describe it, but I just can't-"
"Really?" He said lowly. "I know exactly what you mean Y/n."
"Do you?" She said breathlessly, and hopelessly, "Yeah, I used to feel that way with you, but y'know I wouldn't have avoided you, ah, you girls are so shy! I think I understand now." He rubbed his chin in a circular motion before staring at her with a warm smile that looked warm, but didn't give Y/n any warmth. She was nothing but a cold body looking inside from the out watching all of the warmth shining all throughout--still not even close enough to reach her.
"You're so odd, really."
"How so?" She stared into a distance so far he had to dial an extension to reach her--that being his hand creeping up her thigh--up--and down and up.
"You just...are. I don't mean in a bad way, the way you make me feel is odd. I'd kill for you, if i needed to." The last part he said was as low as the wind. "Would you kill me? If I asked you to, would you?" She whispered, his ear had barely caught it, he looked up at her, she slightly looked over at him, walking the distance back to her reality now, her eyes flickered to his hand resting on her thigh.
"I'd do anything, if it made you happy, but I don't think I could live without you--well I know, I can't. You ignored me for so long and I almost went crazy, I don't think I could handle you being gone forever."
"And you don't care? About what would happen after?"
"Nothing else matters anymore Y/n! You don't understand. You're my purpose now. If I get kicked out i'll come see everyday, If I go to prison I'll escape, if I move states I'll ride a train everyday just for you. You don't understand, Bakugo wouldn't do that for you, he's selfish. No one's ever put you first, have they?" They locked eyes for the longest moment. "No one's ever going to put you first, everyone's too busy putting time into themselves and you're too busy putting time into them. You need someone to care for you, I'm the only one who can do it! The only one willing! Someone who's gonna put you first, no matter what."
It was truly convincing. Kaminari had always talked over her, or talked as if he never understood her, yet his words now spoke as if all he did was listen to hear, hear every emotion in her voice, every thought, every eye dart, the feelings even she hadn't noticed. "You'd do that?" she spoke quietly, her voice raw from holding it.
"I'd do anything, anything." He repeated, his hand grazed her cheek and fell onto her thigh, a light spot slowly fading where his hand was previously. "You're not taking me seriously." he said.
"I am, I see it," she started. "My mind...and my heart are...disagreeing with each other. I don't know if....I could ever make a decision." That was fine with Kaminari, he was closer now, wanting to look and count every pore on her face. He just wanted to be included--to know--just to know if he was anywhere in her mind lingering against her will. Then there was certainly a chance for him to stay.
"Logically, i'm the best option, right?" He smiled at her as if to laugh and say it was a joke, but his eyes averred otherwise. Logically, well, Y/n wasn't sure much logic could go into this type of decision and if it was she wouldn't deem herself worthy of obtaining enough of that logic to come to any conclusion. Naturally, he thought otherwise.
"Logically..." She started then trailed off as quick as she had started, her heart beating to the beat of a train pounding down the tracks, hissing and pouring and unable to stop in time. Kaminari's hand was on the side of her face, guiding her to him and she had done nothing to stop it, when they were just inches--no centimeters away from each other Y/n let out a small buried gasp, he stopped, his eyes darted to her lips then her eyes that he couldn't see due to the fog on her glasses. "Do you not want to?" He whispered, holding their faces there where they shouldn't be.
She responded with a small, uncertain nod. Looking back, she was so unsure of what she was thinking when she did that. What happened after. What was bound to come. It was so unfathomable to her that she had buried it so deep as if the memory wasn't even her own. Kaminari closed the rest of the centimeters between them.
Their lips had willingly touched each other, for a moment there was a shock, Y/n pulled away and he pulled her right back in as if her lips were a cover and he desperately needed warmth--a cover--a jacket--a fire only one as bright and warm as hers could get rid of his frost bite, his everlasting loneliness, his infatuation with heat. He wondered, as he was warming up, what was so great about kissing? Nothing really, he thought, yet the second his lips crashed into hers he felt his whole world twisting and turning in every single direction and the best part was that she had kissed him back.
Though it wasn't for long, she put her hand on his face and attempted to depart once more but he just couldn't bring himself to let her go. He grabbed her arm and forced it down to the bed, still so very--so very much cold. Then he thought, oh why wouldn't it be done whenever he wanted it to? Then he swore--even if he didn't want to, his body would do as his thoughts wished. He had felt her give up soon after that and had found himself not wanting to take advantage of this opportunity.
Her other hand grazed his back, his shoulder blade, his neck, his soft hair and supple skin, yet she couldn't find that same warmth he felt, the same excitement, the need, the curiosity, the satisfaction. It was all foreign to her. Yes ,his lips were notably soft and his hand on her thigh--surprisingly warm and soft, his kisses, gentle, but nothing brought any feelings to her, none left her either, not positive ones at least. It was truly sad, she had thought in the moment, perhaps she was missing out on something, maybe he was, logically, the better option. The reality was, it was then and there her brain had decided he wasn't the one, and it was that moment his hands decided to take more than just her first kiss.
