It was about an hour, Ariel and Kenma were very comfortable in one another's company and ignoring the rest of the party. However, that wasn't long-lived as a few people had barged in practically giving the couple a sex show nearly before even realising the two were sitting staring at them. Whenever a couple would leave the room, the couple would burst out laughing before they went straight back to their game.Β

"So, I gotta ask? Did you also get dragged here as well?" the blueish grey eyes flicking to meet the gold ones glancing at them.

"How you guess?" Kenma said with no emotion in his voice, as it was obvious, he'd not previously wanted to be there. However, right now he was actually having a great time with the beautiful woman, who was funny and so relaxed that he didn't feel the need to be anyone but himself.

"I guess it was the fact you looked for the first opportunity to escape to a quiet room to game...or the fact you looked pissed when your friend walked in," a smirk played along the woman's plump lips. "Because that is exactly what I did," she giggled and the sound was like heavenly bells, making the guy's cheeks blush ever so slightly.

Ariel had noticed the blush, wondering if the room had gotten a little hotter but the way Kenma's eyes kept glancing to her eyes and then going to her lips. Part of her wanted to lean forward and kiss the guy but the other part didn't want to ruin the evening that she was having in the company of a guy that was into the same things as her. Kenma noticed that he was staring at her luscious lips wanting to see if Ariel tasted as sweet as she looked and smelt. Instantly his gaze turned back to the game.

"I guess that makes sense." Shrugging he tried to appear as if he'd not momentarily been staring at the woman's lips. "Why are you here? I've never seen you at any volleyball games in the past or are you from one of the schools?" He questioned but then remembered the woman giving Kuroo the third degree about Kaylea. A girl he'd met a few years back, but he knew full well she'd broken up with Kuroo for something or another. For the life of him, he couldn't remember why, but from what he recalled, his best friend was the one heartbroken, not Kaylea.

"My friend has a friend that invited us," sighing, she placed the Switch on her lap. "I think her ex that she never got over is here. You know that guy that came in earlier." standing up, Ariel stretched her body out, having been sitting in the same position for at least an hour and a half. At that time neither of her friends had come to search for her. That could only mean one thing, she had to go see if they were ok and if they were she could escape the party and head home.

"Oh. I don't know what happened, but they were dating. She broke up with Kuroo not the other way around," Kenma stood as well, stretching his arm and placing the switch in his pocket. "I guess we should at least go see if we can escape yet," a playful smirk crossed his lips, "Since neither of us truly wants to be here. I can walk you home then head home as well." Kenma suggested.

Ariel glanced at the guy with blonde hair and black roots was a short bob style and suited him, he was slender compared to her curvy form but the way he held himself showed he lacked some confidence, the same as her.

"I'd like that," The woman flushed, her brain going a little crazy as part of her didn't want the night to end at all. It was the most fun she'd had at something like this in a long time and having someone there as Kenma had helped. The man was handsome, smart, and kind, everything that ticked her box and the fact he loved gaming was an absolute win. The insecure part of her thought there was no chance that she could ever land a guy like Kenma and he was just being friendly with her.

As the door of their sanctuary opened, the sound of the rest of the house was extremely noisy but a lot of the noise was coming from one direction. Ariel looked in the kitchen first, as that was the last place, she'd seen the two women that had accompanied her. Even though she didn't find the two of them, more people had arrived that she'd never seen before.

"Are Bokuto's parties always this busy?" she yelled to the guy walking close by.

"No. For some reason, he was even more of an airhead and invited a lot of old faces. It's been a while, since we went to uni we've not really seen half the people here anymore," Kenma stated, making Ariel curious, but she didn't ask more. Mostly because she couldn't hear due to the sound of music, so they went deeper to get closer to the noise. Clearly, something was happening in the middle of the room, as people had filled the room.

A hand gripped her slender one, startling Ariel but when she looked to see it was Kenma's hand, her face set on fire with a flustered blush. Kenma's face was also going as red as a strawberry, as he leant into the woman's ear.

"I didn't want to lose you in the crowd," he confirmed but that was a lie, it was a house. Sure, it was a large house but he'd no doubt have been able to red meet the woman at the front door to leave together. Part of him felt that he'd had to justify unexpectedly grabbing her. Ariel was so shocked as she held him back, only nodding in response when she heard Kaysha call out.

"32 counted them myself!" the woman's called over the crowd and the voice that responded was indeed the second part of their trio.

"Fuck off! He doesn't need to know that!" Kaylea yelled in an annoyed tone at the other girl.

"They're in there," Ariel advised Kenma who just nodded and began forcing his way through the crowd, each person stopping him to ask how he was doing as Ariel glanced nervously in the direction of her two friend's voices. Trying to pick out what they were saying, but there was a lot of other voices mixing with theirs that she couldn't work out what was going on. Ariel wasn't expecting the site in front of her though.

There was a beer pong table in the middle of the room, at one end Kaylea stood looking a little uneasy on her feet and no longer wearing the heels she'd come and rolled the dress sleeves up. Then on the other end was Kenma's best friend Kuroo, a smug but annoyed look on his face aimed at the woman at the other end of the table attempting to throw a ball into a cup. It was clear that she was losing.

That's when she saw Kaysha standing in a group of guys. The twins from before, a redhead and a very stern looking guy who kept glancing down at her friend with such a lustful look. Kaysha glanced at the table and then saw Ariel standing on the other side.

"HALF TIME!" the mousy brunette shouted loudly, making Kaylea throw the ball at her in shock. Everyone was laughing, as Kaysha was protected by four different hands and the ball rebounded onto the table knocking a few cups over.

"That's one way to get a break," someone commented as Ariel noticed the Kiyoko pass her friend a bottle of water.

"I think that's our cue," hot breath was on her neck as she noticed how close Kenma was to her. "I'll tell Kuroo. You check on your friends," he didn't know why, but the line of her neck just called to him as he softly placed a tender kiss on the soft skin. The woman instantly went the colour of a strawberry before his presence was gone and replaced by Kaylea and Kaysha.

"Where have you been?" Kaylea swayed the stench of alcohol on her breath.

"I was with Kenma playing my game," Ariel admitted, causing her friend's heads to slide over to see the boy looking at Kuroo, saying something and then looking to the trio. Kaylea clearly knew the guy as she waved. Kenma did a small wave back but went back to talking to Kenma about something or other.

"That's cool. What's up? Let me guess you're gonna go home?" Kaysha added, clearly a little soberer than Kaylea but her eyes kept gazing back to the group of guys then to the actual host of the party. Ariel and Kaylea would usually put money on who the woman would end up with, but Kaylea wasn't in the mood it seemed as she kept glaring at Kuroo.

"Kaylea, are you gonna be good if I head? Or do you want to come as well?" Ariel suggested, the girl's ice-blue eyes stared at her and then over to where Kuroo stood. It was clear she wasn't sure if she should stay, as she would no doubt do something she would regret in the morning.

"I'm good. Got a match to finish!" Kaylea yelled, catching the bed-headed males' attention. When Ariel looked at Kuroo, truly looked at him, she noticed that when he looked at Kaylea there was definitely lust there but there was also love.

'What the hell happened?' the woman questioned herself, not sure it was the best time to ask.

"Text us when you get home?" Kaysha stated, knowing that they would get no sense out of Kaylea who was now lumbering up at her side of the table.

"Ariel! I'll win this for you! Text me when you get your sweet ass home," the redhead didn't even turn to look at her friend as Kenma walked back over.

"Ready?" holding his hand out, Ariel cautiously took it before being led to get their coats. Glancing back at her friends, Kaysha shot her a wink and Kaylea gave her a thumbs up. From the way she dragged her feet, Kenma could tell the woman wanted to stay to protect her friends at the expense of her own fun.

"Kuroo won't let anything happen to Kaylea," the voice stated, shocking the woman whose hand he held. "Also, the guys your other friend is with won't hurt her either," it was reassuring that Kenma thought so highly of the people there and even though she'd just met him this evening, her gut told her she could trust him. Knowing that she allowed him to walk her home, but as they got to her door the snowstorm was really coming down and part of her really didn't want the night to end.

"Why don't you come in and stay? It's really bad and I'd hate for you to get stuck or ill." pleading eyes started into the startled golden ones.

"I want to but I don't think.." before Kenma could finish, Ariel took the leap she'd wanted to do. Pulling him into the apartment, her lips crashed into his. After the initial shock, Kenma kissed back with twice as much force and hunger. Pulling away from the passionate embrace, the two of their eyes locked together.

"Sorry I couldn't help myself," Ariel apologised.

"Don't say sorry," Kenma's thumb grazes over the plump lower lip, watching how it glistened in the light. "Maybe we should get a little further in the house?" he suggested, Ariel's cheeks flaring with heat as she pulled him towards her bedroom.

***Happy day 7!***
