You wondered how you got to this point, she seemed fine yesterday. What happened?

You stared down at the woman you’ve known all your life, your best friend

Kathy

The usually cheery woman was standing at your doorstep, her makeup was smeared, eyes puffy, body violently shaking with every sob that left her lips.

She was ruined

You gently grabbed her hand and led her into your house

“What happened?” You asked in the softest tone you could make

“Ethan” Was all that left her lips before she started to cry again

You tried your hardest not to sigh, you had a feeling Ethan wasn’t good for her but you could never say it out loud without seeming like you were jealous

But you were

It wasn’t fair, she was constantly getting her heart broken while you were right there, you were always there but it seemed like she never noticed

It was tiring, having to see people live your dream only to leave in the end

No matter how good Kathy treated them they always left, most of them let her down gently but others… others left her like this
