Imagine getting back together with Elena after she breaks up with Damon.

A knock to your door was not expected that night. You were all bundled up in warm pj's with your favourite book in hand when the echoed knock came.

You had raised an eyebrow as you got up and answered the door but all of it faded as you saw your ex girlfriend standing at your door, soaked from the pouring rain outside and what appeared to be her crying.

Her blotches face and red eyes showed her sadness, along with the heartbroken look on her face.

"I didn't know who else to go to." Elena whimpered.

You instantly pulled her to you, wrapping her in your warm embrace and pulling her inside your house.

You brought her to your couch, getting a blanket and not caring about the damage as you held her, worried about what had happened.

"What happened?" You asked, rubbed her back as she cried. You brushed her wet locks away from her face and held her between your hands.

"Damon. We broke up." Her lip quivered, the look in her eyes sad enough to break your own heart. It was the same look she gave you when she broke up with you months ago because she wanted to keep you safe.

Without another word you let her sit by herself for a moment, running upstairs and grabbing the warmest clothing you had before coming back down. You took the blanket from her and helped her undress.

She raised her arms and you peeled her soaked shirt, leaving her upper part bare. It didn't bother you, you seen it plenty of times. You helped her into the sweatshirt.

Her pants we off as well as her panties, which you let her put on herself before she took a different blanket and wrapped it onto herself. You laid yourself on the couch, letting her lay next to you and resting her head on your chest and she sniffled.

You hugged her tight, kissing her head as the fire lit up the dark room. "It's his loss. I'll punch him for you tomorrow." Elena laughed a choked laugh, wiping her tears and looking up at you.

"You always know how to make me smile in sad situations." Elena said, recalling many moments you'd spend together that weren't always happy.

"I'll always care about you Elena. Always." You admitted.

"I didn't mean to fall for anyone else. I was going to come back to you again after everything. I still love you." Elena confessed.

"I know. Love is a funny thing." You said. It was quiet after that as the two of you fell asleep in each others arms.

The next morning you woke up with Elena soundless asleep in your arms. It brought back good memories. Damon was jerk for whatever he did to make her break up with him, or for him to break up with her.

You rose from your spot and left Elena to sleep and made your way to the kitchen.
You started making chocolate chip pancakes and bacon. Suddenly arm wrapped around your waist and a head was placed on your shoulder.

"Thank you for last night. And I'm sorry for coming to you." Elena apologized when there was no need to.

"Stop apologizing. I'm always here for you, for anything Elena." You said, recalling when you'd broken up and you said those exact words before she left.

Elena pulled you close and hugged you properly. You wrapped your arms around her then turned around with her still attached and continued making breakfast.

"Remember when I'd always do this and you'd be so annoyed?" Elena giggled.

You nodded. "And when you'd always drag me to school danced because you loved the themes and being around everyone."

You flipped the pancakes and bacon. "Or that time on your birthday I made you a cake only to throw it in your face. You still ate it!" Elena exclaimed.

"Why would I let such ate good cake go to waste?! Plus I got my revenge on your birthday." You laughed with her. You liked recalling all these memories.

"Oh my god! Do you remember swimming at the school and running away from the teacher that caught us?" Elena said and you busted into laughter.

The teacher had fallen when he tried to chase after you around the pool giving you a head start. You both got detention but it totally worth it.

"Or when I'd always do this at random times." You held her shoulder and kissed both her cheeks. It's how they did it in Europe and you thought it was cute.

Elena blushed. "I always loved when you did that." She admitted.

You smiled and put the pancakes on plates with the bacon and set them on the island table and sat on a stool to begin eating.

Elena watched you, admiring you. She never stopped loving you, you always held a special place in her heart. Something in her knew you were the one for her.

"Y/N?" She called. You looked up from your almost empty plate to see her staring at you.

"Yeah?" Elena leant forward and placed her hand on your cheek before kissing your lips softly.

You couldn't lie, the familiar feeling of her lips brought back even more memories. The way Elena kissed you made it feel like you two were still together.

You broke away, your fingers instantly brushing your own lips. It felt wrong to do that after only one night from the breakup.

"We shouldn't have done that. You're still hurting from the break up." You rambled, getting up from the table and leaving the kitchen.

"It felt right though, didn't it?" Elena followed you. You turned to face her, to yell at her because she was acting with a broken heart, but all you saw was the exact look on her face when she came to your doorstep last night. You never wanted to see that face again.

"I did." You whispered. Elena tightly smiled.

"I want to be with you again, Y/N. You're the one for me, I know that. I never stopped loving you." Elena confessed, hold your hands in her own.

"I told you I always would. That hasn't changed. Are you sure? With all the vampire stuff going on are you sure you want me in your life again. Are you prepared to let me know everything and help you with everything?" You asked. Elena never wanted you to be involved in all the bad things surrounding her life.

Elena pulled you into a sweet kiss before answering. "Yes."

Finally updated after 5-6 months. I'm so sorry but I just got inspired to write. Also I think I'll work on Warzone  more before writing anymore of Human. Given me some more ideas! And would you like if I wrote imagines for all the girls in a separate book? I'll leave Elena and Katherine out since they already have their own book :)
