Imagine seeing Katherine after centuries, having been together but separated in a harsh way.

You kicked a pebbles that was at your foot as you sat on a rock, pindling you thoughts as you stared out at the lake.

You hadn't been swimming in such a long time, only because that is how you died. Someone had drowned you and somehow you were brought back as a vampire, something you never wanted to be.

You'd met someone very special to your heart when you'd spent a good chunk of your life in England. Katherine Pierce.

She had just come from Bulgaria as she told you, but that was about the only thing you knew about her besides her name.

She was a pretty woman, who was frightened and seemed broken. She knew next to nothing of English, so you were nice enough to teach her.

It was almost a year before Katherine had came out with her feelings with you. It seemed spending time with Katherine had erupted feelings she had only felt once.

That night was special. Fireworks soared through the sky as the two of you locked lips on the exact rock you were sitting on right at that moment.

You returned to England to visit after such a long time. It was the first time you'd thought of Katherine in such a while. This rock wad a place built on memories between the two of you.

The two of you had had a happy life after that. That is, until you were killed.

It was an ordinary night. You were on your way home from a friends house when someone bounced you. They kicked you to the ground and the next thing you knew, you were being drowned in the water.

You never knew who killed you that night, but you never felt the need for revenge. Though they made you have to live forever in this world until someone beheaded you or staked you, you had gotten to see the world develop in ways no one could explain.

You sighed, patting the side of the rock and standing up. You had no need to be near this rock anymore. Nothing was left for you.

Katherine had left you the night you died. At least you think she did. You had planned to go back to your house like nothing had happened, but she was nowhere to be found.

You were heartbroken for months, years even. Until you got over her with the amount of drinking and hitting rock bottom. That's when you finally realized she was gone and was never coming back.

You turned and began walking to the Quarry. As you turned a corner you saw something. A flash of brown curls. Your mind was messing with you, memories of your past in England resurfacing.

A feeling came over you as you began to run, running around the corner and seeing a head with bouncing curls walking away from you.

You couldn't help but open your mouth and shout. "Katherine?!"

The body stopped abruptly, turning around with a look of fear and something indescribable. Katherine's eyes instantly glossed over.

"Y/N??" Katherine said as she began walking to you. You jogged, soon turning into a full run and crashing into her.

Your arms encircled her tightly as tears fell. Her embrace was something you never thought you'd feel again. Emotions went overboard as you heard her sniffle.

"I thought I'd never see you again." Katherine whimpered.

"You left me." You whispered, putting your forehead against hers.

"Someone threatened me. That if I didn't leave, they'd kill you." You wiped tears that rested on her cheeks.

"I'm guessing you stayed."

"I didn't want to leave you."

"I believe you, Katherine." You said, cupping her face.

"I'll never leave you again, if you let me in your life again." Katherine promised.

"It'll take time, but I trust you." With that the two of you kissed. A blistful kiss that showed just how much you missed each other.
