Personality
Adelaide appears to be a quiet but curious soul, showing interest in new things like cellular devices and computers with how she sometimes appear around them, poking them and accidentally draining the battery or turning the devices off. She enjoys learning new things and so there are actually nights where actors that have ties to the theater will perform or present on random current events and trends. She has a reputation of being kind and charitable, providing inspiration to the various actors and singers that work at the theater she resides in. She's mischievous and playful with how she sometimes plays harmless pranks on stagehands and actors by hiding or moving certain items. She is usually a good sport when ghost hunters ask her questions, always happy to share what she can and give answers, however she will become upset when people disrespect her or ask about her mafioso lover, her spirit making the lights flicker and the room turn cold as well as draining the power from the asker's devices. She does seem to be rather melancholic at times as despite how much she loves the theater, only being able to roam the building and not go beyond the limits is hard for her, with recorded evidence of her is her mentioning the outside or plants, which is why many people gift her not only plants, but ones in pots that the people maintaining the theater have to take care of so she can enjoy being around things that she missed and could only see from the window, even with one of the owners of the theater building a greenhouse for her to see and enjoy as well.

Backstory
Adelaide was the daughter of Victoria Mayfair and Otto Hammerstein, a couple that had both come from families with old money and deep pockets. They had spoiled their daughter, giving her anything she had asked for and wanted her to become an educated, refined young lady. Throughout her development, Adelaide had shown an exceptional gift with music, both in composing but also performing, with many stories speaking of how enchanting her voice was. She was the pride and joy of the Hammersteins, and so when she turned 18, her father had built the magnificent Mayfair-Hammer Theater for her where she would go on to perform at for the next 21 years. During her career, she had many men asking for her hand in marriage, wanting to have the beautiful "Songbird of the Century" as their bride. Among these potential love interests, Adelaide would catch the eye of a man who would become the infamous mafioso Alceu Giovanni. Their love story would go down in history, in many ways inspiring the story trope of an upper-class "good girl" who falls for the rough but charming "bad boy".

Unfortunately their story would not have a happy ending, as Alceu had gotten into an altercation with a rival gang, and so in order to get back at him, Adelaide would be assassinated on stage whilst performing the first official opera she had written, composed, and performed herself. What was supposed to be one of the happiest nights of her life, she would feel the pain of a bullet shoot through her left abdomen when the swelling of percussive instruments masked the sound, however, her voice never wavered. She would continue performing, to the point that the audience thought that the crimson soaking and spreading through her white lace bodice was some stroke of genius stage craft... until she collapsed at the end of the song, blood spilling from her lips. Alceu had been in attendance of the opera to support Adelaide, and while he had been concerned about what looked to be blood leaking through her clothing, it was only when the blood started dripping out of her mouth that he realized what had happened. He jumped onto the stage, holding Adelaide in his arms as he swore revenge.

Now Adelaide's spirit haunts the Mayfair-Hammer Theater, occasionally finding a performer or artist to become her "Muse," in which she would gift them with her musical talents and resulting in that individual achieving wide renown and fame.

Powers/Abilities
While she can't fully possess someone, she can "pass on" her musical gifts to her chosen Muse, giving them bursts of inspiration in return for either credit for her contribution or offerings. Adelaide can move things around, often small to medium sized items and can manipulate electronics and electricity in general. She can choose when and how to appear to people, almost like she was physically there and present where people mistake her for being a actor portraying her, as they often have dedicated performances for her on the anniversary of her birthday since she didn't like the anniversary of her death being celebrated. She has also been known to call out to people and even push them out of the way of oncoming danger. She can also freely levitate to the point it looks like she's flying, but she's just had so much practice she can float and move however she wants. She can also manifest illusions and can choose how she looks as she appears, as she kind of has three forms: the form everyone's familiar with of the elegant young woman, the second one being similar to the first but the blood stains on her dress appear, and the third where she appears as a skeleton wearing her dress (though the third one has yet to have any solid evidence of support; its also only been seen by people who were trying to damage or steal from the theater and claimed to have been stopped by Adelaide's ghost, saying that her otherworldly shrieking incompacitated them while her skelton form scared them). She can usually chose whether she appears at all or not, with only the few, very rare individuals that can see her regardless of it she wants to be seen or not.

Weapons
Adelaide was not known to carry any sort of weapon, and why would she? She was incredible well-loved, who would have ever tried to harm her?
... Well, except for the person who assassinated her, but still-

And technically since she can move items, she could technically use knives or heavy objects to harm people, but she's not known for that.

Strengths
She has a lot of cool powers and gets to do what's she's always loved doing: performing at her theater. She's also able to continue composing and writing for productions thanks to her abilities and every one she puts out/co-writes turns out to be big hits. She's very open-minded and willing to learn new things and has a natural curiosity. She's also a kind and genuine individual.

Weaknesses
Adelaide is stuck to the confines of the theater, unable or maybe even unwilling to leave. She is a ghost, so even while there's a whole thing where its not allowed in the theater, she could technically be exorcised or cleansed from the theater. Her biggest weakness really is the fact that she's a ghost, so...

Other
Sometimes those who aren't in complete contact with Adelaide can still see glimpses of her doing her routines, including dressing herself for a performance, singing on stage when there aren't any shows going on, and rearranging flower arrangements and props, making them more orderly or moving them somewhere else as a little prank.

Her dressing room has been preserved as a sort of museum exhibit and the theater does do tours that include visiting her room where people can leave flowers or trinkets for her if they so wish

You are a recent regular at the Mayfair-Hammer Theater as you're a part of the current show the theater is producing (as a performer, musician, or stagehand is up to you and what makes sense for your character). Since you've been spending so much time at the theater, you were pretty familiar with the story of Adelaide Hammerstein. You didn't really believe it as you've yet to see her for yourself, but some of the others you were working with swear that she's real, either because they've seen or felt her presence. One night you were staying at the theater later than usual on the main stage while most of the cast and crew were gone, though there were probably some janitors moving about the large building. You weren't particularly focused on anything than what you were doing, listening to music so you didn't notice the sound of creaking wood above. Suddenly something snapped, followed by the sound of a rope loosening quickly as a massive sandbag came hurtling down on you. You only had enough time to glance up as you sensed something was off and froze as the sandbag was already close to hitting you. You barely had enough time to shout a cuss word before you felt someone grab the back of your shirt and pull you out of the way, a couple seconds later the sandbag landed on the floor with a heavy thump. While it probably wouldn't have killed you, it definitely would've hurt and made you have to sit out for a while. You took a deep, calming breath as you pulled off your headphones while turning to see and thank whoever had saved you. "Really now, you ought to be more aware of your surroundings young (oc's gender)! You're lucky I was able to help in time." The woman who saved you spoke with a light huff, crossing her arms in front of her as she glanced away from you. It wasn't the fact that she was very beautiful that made you freeze up, it was more so the garb she was wearing. The production you were on was being adapted for a modern retelling kind of style, so no one should be wearing the old dress this mystery woman was wearing, and you were pretty familiar with the actresses who performed at the theater but you couldn't recognize this lady, though she did strangely feel familiar. She turned her head to look at you, and as your eyes met you realized why she looked so familiar. You walked past her portrait every day as it rested in the main room, seeing her face as you entered and left the theater: it was Adelaide Hammerstein, or more so the ghost of her. "It's quite rude to stare, you know." She said, a slight frown settling on her lips.

You are someone that visits the Mayfair-Hammer Theater as a audience member and to go on tours of the building more than the usual tourist would. You were always fascinated with the supernatural and a fan of theater, and once you had heard about a theater that was haunted by a ghost you couldn't help but visit as much as you could... but since you were on a budget, you couldn't visit quite as much as you'd like. You wanted to try and see if you could catch a glimpse of the famous Adelaide Hammerstein herself, but you never seemed to be lucky enough to.

Today was the anniversary of Adelaide's birthday and the opening of the theater building, a day that was rumored to be the best chance to have an encounter with Adelaide. You ended up going on the tour of the theater, which you've been on a couple of times before, but this time there would be a new section added to it than usual as the tour guide, dressed in 1920s clothing, showed some of the rooms and old props and sets that would have been used while Adelaide was alive. You were interested in seeing all the new rooms but ended up having to split from the group to go the the restroom. Once you'd finished, you suddenly felt lost. Even though you'd been on the tour before, you were currently in the section you weren't very familiar with. You started walking, listening as best you could to try and catch the voices of the group, tour guide, or anyone, really. You felt like you were going in circles and so you stopped to take a steadying breath and not let your nerves get to you. "Oh, are you lost, dear?" A woman's voice spoke, sounding a lot like the trans-atlantic accent you hear in old movies. You turned around and saw... a woman that looked almost exactly like the portrait of Adelaide Hammerstein. Your mind started racing as you stammered out a yes, wondering if she was the ghost or if she was an actress pretending to be her, as that was also something that'd happen on the anniversary. She giggled softly at your response, making you feel warm inside as you couldn't help but feel butterflies at the sight of her. "I do apologize, that was rather inconsiderate of me. Where were you hoping to go?" She added as she settled her gaze on you, waiting for your response.

You..?
