Two
After the professor gave me my red Pokédex and 10 empty Pokéballs, he led me outside to show off my Bulbasaur to my family. As we walked down the halls all the worries I had had previously were washed away as Bulbasaur sat snugly in my arms. The leering white of the halls didn't bother me anymore, that is, until the front door came into view.
I tripped on my own foot but managed to make it go unnoticed. The professor led me to the door and pushed it open. Nothing happened. Then I noticed a sign under the door.
"Uhhh... I think it's a pull door."
His face lit up bright red as he realized his mistake. It put me in a fit of giggles and when I finally calmed down he pulled the door open revealing the small crowd gathered at the base of the steps, my parents at the front. I could tell they were trying to hide their surprise at me emerging with a Bulbasaur in my arms and not a Charmander at my side.
I skipped down the steps having been reenergized by the professor's blunder. "What do you think?" I asked them, my new found excitement bubbling over. I held Bulbasaur up for my mom to see. I noticed her cringe as she gently pushed him away.
"It's very....nice honey."
"He's not an it he's a he.". I stoked Bulbasaur's head causing him to let out soft bulba! Luken walked up to me ruffling my hair "He suits ya sis."
I smiled up at him before my father interrupted, "You better get started on your journey before the other trainers take all the good Pokémon!" I gave him a curt nod, hugging them and giving them all a kiss on the cheek.
"Bye!" I yelled at them as I took off down the dirt road, Bulbasaur at my side.

(A/N HA! This chapter isn't over just yet!!)
"Bulbasaur use tackle!" We had just found a Caterpie and I was determined to make it my first catch. Bulbasaur leapt into the air but the Caterpie dove underneath him, making him fall to the ground. Bulbasaur was dazed from his fall giving Caterpie enough time to use string shot and slither away.
"URGGG!" I screamed into the air as I walked over to untie Bulbasaur. We had already been through a Pidgey and a stray Kakuna. "We'll get one next time." I told Bulbasaur as I pried off the last of the string. Bulba! I led us back to the path to continue on our way to the next town.
We had only been walking for a couple of minutes when a orange flash flew across the road. Cautiously, I crept over to the bush it had dove into. Just as I was about to peer over it, an Arcanine jumped over it, clearing my head by inches, before bounding away. Dusting myself off I continued down the path. I wouldn't let that Arcanine have the satisfaction of scaring me.
Bulbasaur jumped into my arms as we walked snuggling in for some rest incase we came across another Pokémon. We were just coming out of the forest into some grass lands when another Caterpie wriggled across the path. "Quick! Bulbasaur, go!" Bulbasaur woke up shaking himself off before jumping onto the ground in front of the Caterpie. The Caterpie reared up in fear but I shouted a quick command to Bulbasaur to use vine whip to keep it in place.
"Now! Use razor leaf!" Bulbasaur followed through flawlessly. "Bulbasaur release your grip on Caterpie and use tackle!" Caterpie was crushed under Bulbasaur's weight. (no I'm not calling him fat) When bulbasaur jumped back, where he had been lay a fainted Caterpie. "Alright we got it!" I pulled out a Pokéball and threw it at the little Pokémon. The ball rocked back and fourth three times before the button flashed red.
Bulbasaur picked up the ball with his vines trotting back to me happily before handing me the ball. I rubbed his head with my free hand, "Great job Bulbasaur!". I shrunk the ball and placed it on my belt. "I can't wait to get to know Caterpie!" I told Bulbasaur as we walked out of the forest and into the tall grass. "Maybe we can catch something else here!"
•time skip because I said soooo• (imagine that with music)
Just up ahead I could make out the tops of buildings. I took off at a run, Bulbasaur struggling to keep up with me. As we reached the entrance I stopped to read a sign.
Pewter City
Rock Gym
Pokémon Center
First the Pokémon center then a little exploration. I began to wander around the city, taking note of places I would want to come back to, until I found the Pokémon center. I opened the glass door just in time to see a nurse Joy rushing a Nidorina into the emergency room. A crestfallen looking boy walked over to the waiting area and slumped down on the gray couch. After returning Bulbasaur to his pokeball, I handed them to a chansey, then I walked over to the boy.
The boy had sloppy brown hair and deep green eyes that watched me closely as I moved to sit next to him. "So," I started "What happened to your Nidorina?"
"The gym leader happened that's what!" he snapped at me.
Geez! This guy had a temper!
"If I were you I wouldn't even think about challenging that guy! He's unbeatable!"
"We'll see how long he stays that way!" I said to him jumping off the couch. "As soon as my Pokémon are healed I'm heading strait for that gym and I'm going to win that badge!"
"Good luck!", he scoffed, "You'll need it!"
I ran over to the front desk as fast as my legs could carry me. "Chansey! Are my Pokémon ready yet?" Chansey! She picked up my two pokeballs off the tray and passed them to me over the counter. No sooner were they in my hands then I was out the door, calling a quick thank you over my shoulder before the doors slammed shut.

(A/N HA! You thought this chapter was over again didn't you! Well your wrong. ^•^)
I've been roaming around the city for 2 hours, unsuccessful in my search for the gym. Finally I see a building up ahead. It looks like it could be a gym, so it probably is. I run up to the door throwing it open in my excitement. To my dismay there's an ongoing battle. I recognize the girl as the one from my town, Angel, the one who chose Squirtle. I quickly let Bulbasaur out so he could watch the battle.
"Bubbles use Tackle!" Angel commanded to her worn out Squirtle. Bubbles leapt up in the air with strength I didn't know she had and somehow managed to push over the giant, panting onix. It didn't get back up. "Onix has fainted!", the referee shouted, "The winner is Angel!"
Angel started to jump up and down, running over to Bubbles and giving her a big squeeze before she seemed to collect herself. She calmly walked up to the gym leader extending her hand. "Thank you for the great match Brock!" He shook her hand before reaching into his pocket and pulling something small and shiny out.
"Angel, take this badge as a sign of your victory here at the Pewter city gym." Brock said placing the badge in her hand. She took it and placed it inside of a pink badge case with hearts all over it. "Thank you so much!" He gave her a curt nod before walking over to a door in the back. I ran up to Angel just as she returned her Squirtle.
"Hey Angel!" I said as I stopped directly in front of her.
"Kate! Oh my gosh! How are you? Have you caught anything? What pokemon did you pick for your starter? Did you see me win? How was I? I-"
I held up my finger cutting her off. "First off slow down, secondly I'm great. Bulbasaur is my starter." I told her gesturing down to him. "So far I've only caught a Caterpie that I haven't really had time to talk to, but yes I did see you win and I must say Bubbles is amazing!"
Just as I finished someone came up beside us. It was Brock. "I regret to inform you that the gym will be closing now but will I be seeing you in a battle tomorrow?" he asked me.
"Oh, okay. Yeah 'ill be here tomorrow."
"Good. That Bulbasaur of yours looks strong."
"Thanks!" I said smiling up at him, "See ya tomorrow!"
With that Angel and I exited the gym, making our way towards the pokemon center.
"Hey, you wanna share a room?" Angel asked me as we pushed open the double doors.
"That would be great!"
We walked up to the nurse Joy at the counter. "Room for two please." Angel told her.
"Of course!" she said, reaching bellow her and pulling out a key with a number tag on it, but there was a Pokémon on it too. We were staying in room 201 with the Rattata on it. As we're walking down the halls towards our room I see the boy from earlier
"So did you beat gym the leader?" he asked in a taunting tone.
I shook my head "The gym closed before I could, but Angel did!"
Angel looked as if she would burst with pride.
"My match is tomorrow.", I continued, "You should come so you can see how it's done." I told him placing my hand on my hip.
"Maybe I will.", he said, a gleam in his eye, "Maybe I will."
That was the last thing he said before Angel and I walked off to our room.

(A/N HA! It's still not over! I'm such a troll. ^•^)
I laid my already Sleeping Bulbasaur down on my bed. In the room there were to twin beds opposite of each other. There was a bathroom and a mini fridge as well. I walked over to Angel who was sitting on the mini tan couch that faced the tv.
"Hey, so how's your journey been so far?" she asked me as I took a seat next to her.
"Pretty good.", I replied, "Ive already battled a Pidgey a Kakuna and two Caterpie."
Two Caterpie.
"My Caterpie!" My hand went straight to the belt around my waist where I picked up the second ball. I pulled it out and clicked the button. A beam of white light shot out of the open lid forming into the Caterpie I had caught earlier.
"Hello Caterpie!" I said to it excitedly. It recoiled hiding as far away from me as possible on the coffee table. I reached in the pocket of my bag and pulled out my Pokédex. I aimed it at Caterpie and looked at its stats.
Female
Level: 6
Moves:
Tackle
Dig
String shot
Iron tail
Iron tail?!?How in the world did a level 6 Caterpie learn iron tail? My surprise must have shown on my face because Angel asked me what was wrong. Not able to say anything I handed her my Pokédex. Her image mirrored mine when she saw it. She passed me my Pokédex back to stare at the cowering little Caterpie.
I shut my Pokédex and held my hand out to Caterpie in a calming gesture. She stopped shaking and looked at my hand before cautiously wriggling over to sniff it. After she gave it a thorough sniff she crawled up my arm to sit on my shoulder, rubbing her head against mine affectionately.
"Awwwww!" I cooed, " I think I'm going to name you Sweetie Pie!"
She let out a little noise that I assumed meant she liked it. "Wow!", Angel said, "Your like the Poké whisperer!"
I just laughed and we headed off to bed. It was a little harder for me since I had to inch my way around Bulbasaur, and Caterpie had already fallen asleep on my shoulder. After the day I had though, it wasn't hard to fall asleep. I couldn't wait until tomorrow. After I won that gym badge I could finally open the mysterious pokeball from my parents.
