Brahmmand started his evil rituals to please his Dark Lord, Kapali and Karnpisachini. Kapali and Karnpisachini were two dark entities who represented all negative aspects of the universe like lust, malice, greed, envy etc. To evoke them and gain powers one should give the sacrifice of positivity and purity. Many centuries back Brahmmand did their Puja and sacrificed the blood of 100s of sages to the Yagna. Due to this Kapali and Karnpisachini gave them their dark magics. By using those powers Brahmmanad started torturing humans, devs also the Asurs. They kidnapped innocent humans and sucked their blood to maintain their immortality and strength.  In that situation, all Devs prayed to Devi Adishakti Mahamaya to stop them. Devi Adishakti had created her Avatar Kalratri who along with Dev Kaalbhairav attacked Pisachlok. Kapali and Karnpisachini's power would work only on those who were born from their mother's womb. But both Devi Kaalratri and Dev Kaalbhairav were formed from the internal energies of Devi Adishakti and Mahadev. After their defeat, Brahmmand prayed to Mahadev for mercy. Mahadev was the God of Pisachas as well, so he requested Devi Kaalratri to spare the pisachas life. So Devi Kaalratri imprisoned them in the darkest corner of Patal and warned them that if they again tried to disrupt the balance of the Universe then they would be again defeated by someone who was a reincarnation of Devi Mahamaya. 

Brahmmand was a cunning Pisacha. He knew that if he did anything wrong again, then Devi Mahamaya would punish them. So they patiently waited for the perfect timing to defeat the positive energies. Brahmmanada also did penance for Kapali and Karnpisachini. Karnpisachini was the one who knew everything about black magic and dark forces. She told Brahmanand about the blood lunar eclipse. Also she told if they wanted to attain immortality and gain all dark power, the pisach king should give sacrifice of something pure. The stronger the sacrifice's aura was, the more powers would the pisachas gain. So when Asurraj asked them to keep two powerful devs as their hostages, then Brahmmanand had no idea that those Devs were none other than Lord Surya and his charioteer Arun. It seemed that their evil lord was giving them perfect opportunities to be the ultimate ruler of the Trilok. Afterall Lord Surya was the dev who gave light and strength to all the world. He was the king of Navgrahas. If the pisachas could sacrifice him then they would become the strongest entity.  So Brahmmananda asked his senapati Raktaksh to fight with the Devis so that he could finish the yagna. Once he sacrificed Suryadev, then no one...not even Devi Mahamaya could also defeat them.

Battleground,

Rakhtaksh was prepared for the fight with devis. Brahmmananda knew that women were one of the strongest creation of God as they were the lifegivers. So he warned Rakhtaksh not to underestimate the women, but Rakhtaksh was confident about the strength of soldiers. Still he took his trusted warriors along with the common soldiers to fight.

Devi Avantika blew the conch to signal the start of the war. Both the pisacha soldiers and the devis charged towards each other. Devi Varahi and Devi Mahiswari attacked the soldiers from one side while Devi Indrani and Devi Narsinghi attacked from the other side. The way a mighty lion tore apart a pack of Hayenas, the women army destroyed the pisachas in the same way. The devis were the positive force and in presence of them the pisachas loses their powers. Seeing it, Rakhtaksh ordered the warriors like Chamur, Chikkur, Asiloma who were great pisachas with various dark powers to attack the devis.

Chamur had a special power to change the appearances. He turned himself a woman and join in the devi army to sabotage from inside. He stealthily entered inside the chariot where Avantika was waiting with all other warriors. Chamur planned to kill the leader of the army so that the battle could be ended. But Avantika already sensed his presence. Chamur entered to the topmost chamber of the chariot and when he entered, he saw a Devi was sitting on the throne. 

Her radiance had made the entire gloomy pisachlok bright. She had weapons as well as a branch of a tree on her hand which represents both power as well as life form. She was the goddess of balance who protected everyone. Chamur thought, 'I have never heard of such a devi. Maybe she was a new one but who cares? I need to somehow defeat all other devis and take her as my prisoner. Pisachraj will be pleased to have such a beautiful woman as his queen.'

He slowly moved towards devi Brahmmani who defeat her. But before he hit her all the devis suddenly vanished. Then Chamur heard, 'Foolish Pisach, do you think we cannot recognize you?' Chamur realized that whatever he saw was an illusion to lure him in a trap. Being desperate Chamur tried to summon Pisachastra but Devi Kaumari beheaded him.

While Devi Maseshwari fought with Chikkur. Chikkur had a special power. His scream was so intense that it could make everyone unconscious. First both of them fought valiantly but then Chikkur realized that he could not defeat Devi Maheswari. So he emitted the scream. All the devis had to cover their ears because of the sound but suddenly the pisachas heard a sound which counter Chikkur's sound. Then everyone saw Devi Brahmmanai was creating a sacred sound with her bell. Then Devi Maheswari attacked Chikkur again and killed him.

Rakhtaksh seeing this was agitated. He then himself came to the battlefield. He was the pisach son of Asur Rakhtabeej and has similar power like his father. All the devis tried to defeat him but interestingly from his blood new asurs were formed. Once Devi Chamunda swallowed the blood of Rakhtabeej to prevent the formations of new Asurs, but Rakhtaksh had a boon that his blood would act as a poison so it could not be swallowed as well. Then Avantika started dwelling with him. Both of them dueled for some time but each time Avantika injured him, more new pisachas were formed. 

Rakhtaksh, 'Ha ha devi, you could not defeat us. Soon you all will be under us.'

Avantika then said, 'Murkh Pisach, you can do some great with this boon of yours...but you chose the path of sin. Now see what we can do.' Then Avni summoned her power and a ball of fire formed in her hands. She threw the fire to Rakhtaksh instantly burning him.

Asiloma realized that it was not possible for  him to defeat his opponents. So he decided to delay their advance until Pisachraj would finish his Yagna and sacrifice Suryadev in it. Once he attain the power of Navgrahas, they would be invincible. So he used his special power that was to reduce the power of his opponent. He could reduce the opponents' strength to half with his power. Due to his dark power suddenly all the devis except Devi Avantika and the Navdurgas felt week. Seeing that Devi Kaumari said, 'Devi Avantika how can we  stop this Asur?'

Devi Narsinghi, 'This Pisach is delaying the war. I have a feeling that the Pisach king is doing something sinister.'

 Devi Avantika prayed to Devi Adi shakti, 'O mother of the universe, please show us the way to stop the effect of the dark magic. Why we cannot be able to defeat Asiloma.'

Devi Adishakti, 'Putri, you cannot defeat him until you assemble all the positive energies of the universe. You have Navdurgas but you also need to assimilate Devi Vinayaki's power. Dev Vinayak is the siddhidata. He is the one who has to be worshipped first. Till now Devi Vinayaki did not participate but it is time to ask her to come for you aid.'

All the devis prayed to devi Vinayaki who was the female form of Dev Ganesh. Mahaganesh appeared in front of the devis and then he took the form of Devi Vinayaki and challenged Asiloma. In presence of her, all negative energies were eradicated and then she used her axe to behead Asiloma.

Devi Avantika and Devi Vinayaki, rushed inside the palace while other devis killed the rest of the pisacahas.

Avantika entered into the yagnasthal and was stunned seeing the unholy atmosphere. The entire room was filled with pots filled with human bolld, human skull, claws of cats, eyeballs of vultures, rotten skin of animals, jars filled with poisonous snakes, leeches, scorpions etc. In front of the Yagna both Suryadev and Arun was tied and they were unconscious. Brahmmanada sacrificed those unholy things on the Yagna and summoned Kapali and Karnpisachini so that they could devour Suryadev and Arun and transferred their powers to Brahmanand. 

Avani roared, 'Pisach king, stop....leave my father and kakashri otherwise your end will be so gruesome that the entire Trilok will shiver.'

Brahmamnda, 'Today no one will stop me. I already summond my aradhya. Now I will get the power of the lightgiver and then I will cover the entire universe with darkness. All devs including tridevs will be my slaves. Then Devi I will make you mine.' Saying that he raised his 'Rakhtkharag' the weapon of Kapali to sacrifice Suryadev.

Devi Vinayaki threw her sword but Karnpisachini covered the Yagna bhumi with an energy field. Then Devi Vinyaki said, 'Devi Avantika, now it's time to summon the destructive energy of yours. You can only destroy them as you are the Goddess of protection and part of Devi ADishakti.' 

Avni closed her eyes and summoned her inner Kundalini shakti. Bright light equal to another sun engulfed her, the entire universe started shacking again, the huge storm appeared, in seas and rivers, huge waves were formed. It seemed like the entire creation was scared for the upcoming event. Then everything slowly came back to normal and Avni turned into ........

Devi Vikayaki, 'She is Devi Pratyangira, the protector from all black magics and dark forces. She is one of the most destructive from of Devi Adishakti. Only she can stop Kapali and Karnpisachini.' 

All devis also reached there and they cheered, 'All hail to Devi Pratyangira, the protector.'

Devi Prathayngira roared which reverberated the entire the universe. All DEvs also cheered for her.

Devi Pratyangira just hit the ground with her left foot with destroyed the energy field that protected Brahmmananda. Then she started fighting with both Kapali and Karnpisachini.

All the Devis rushed towards Pisachraj and surrounded him. Devi Sangya and Chaya rushed in and untied Suryadev and Arun. Kapali and Karnpisachini used many dark magic son Devi Pratyangira but she either defected those or swallowed those. Then she used her energies which stumbled both Kapali and pisachini. Seeing their defeat both of them vanished desserting their bhakt Brahmmananda.

Then Devi Pratyangira attacked Brahmmananda. They faught with their tridents. Both of them summoned their powers but when Pisach dev and devis could not stand the Goddess of protection then how could the king stop her. Sensing his defeat, Pisach raj sat on his knees and asked for mercy. But Devi Pratyangira said, 'Once Devi Kaalratri showed you mercy but you are not worthy of it. Today entire Pisachlok will be annihilated from the existance.' Then she tore the Pisach king apart with her trident.
