'What? Dhumrasur was killed, but that's impossible. He was almost immortal. He had a boon that nothing can kill him except Mahadev's own celestial weapon.' said engaged Bhayankarasur.

'Yes Asurraj, that is why you asked him to attack Kalinga as there was no one in there who can wield Mahadev's celestial weapon.' said Chandasur, his Senapati.

They called Adrishyasur, their spy who knew many things happening on earth.

Bhayankarasur, 'Adrishyasur, who killed Dhumrasur?'

Adrishyasur, 'Prabhu my spies told me that Kalinga Princess was eloping with the prince of Hastinapura and during that fight, Dhumrasur died.'

Bhayankarasur roared, 'Prince of Hastinapur, I will turn your marriage yagna into your funeral. Senapati, take an army of demons and destroy Hastinapur.'

Chandasur, 'But Prabhu it is not that easy. Hastinapur has some great warriors like Gangaputra Bheesm, Dronacharya. Crown prince Duryadhan is a student of Mahabali Balaran and a great mace fighter. If we attack Hastinapur then the devputra Pandavas will also come to save their relatives as well Dwarka will also intervene.'

'He is right Bhyankarasur....Don't do anything that you regret later.' Entered Shukracharya. He exactly knew who killed Jarasandha and Dhumrasur but he could not reveal Karna's identity to anyone due to Mahadev's order.

Shukracharya, 'You cannot defeat Hastinapur without your sons' help who are busy in penance to please lord Mahadev. Once they get the boon then you will be powerful enough. But now don't attack Hastinapur.'

Bhyankarasur, 'Okay Gurudev, if I cannot attack directly at least I  can create problems for the citizens and develop fear in their mind against me. Senapati, go and attack the villages of Hastinapur. Destroy the crops, kill the cows, abduct the women, destroy the gurukuls and kill the sages. Now Hastinapur will see what happens when you challenge Bhyankarasur.'

 Shukracharya,' Bhyankarasur, you are warrior then fight like a man. Why are you attacking innocent people.'

Bhyankarasur, 'Gurudev, I don't want to listen to your lecture, you are my Guru that's why I don't want to disrespect you. But please don't interfere in my matter.'

Shukracharya left thinking, 'Bhyankarasur till now no one gets success after insulting their Guru. I can clearly see that your end is near.'

In Hastinapur

Everyone was celebrating Duryodhna's wedding. Karna was very busy with the preparations. After the wedding rituals were done and the newlyweds retired to their chamber, Gandhari asked Karna to go to the guest-chamber and take some rest. But Karna asked her permission to go home as due to all the works he could not give time to his family.

While returning home in his horse Karna again thought about the mystery girl. He was happy with his foster family but still felt a void in his heart. But whenever he thought of that girl, those dark eyes, the melodious voice, the smile, the lips, he had a sense of connection. 

Karna, 'I need to know about her, who is she? Is she married...no no Karna think positive. But what if she is really married or someone's fiancee? Then I will definitely forget her....but if she is single? Oh..no..Karna stop this nonsense. From tomorrow you shall meditate properly, you are Suryaputra, Parshuram, Shukracharya, Brihaspati shishya Karna. You cannot lose your control like this. The main purpose of your life is to help your family and protect mother earth from adharma. It's your mission to teach people the true meaning of Dharma. You cannot bind yourself in all those moh maya.'

Krishna, 'As without shakti shiv is incomplete, without Lakshmi Narayan is nothing, same as without your soulmate you are incomplete. The upcoming war will be tougher and you need your shakti to complete you. Only a Sampurna Yoddha can win the war and your soulmate will make you that.

Rukmini, 'Prabhu but I have a doubt. Karna is the son of Suryadev. He has the power and radiance of both Sun and Devi Sangya. Only fire can withstand the strength of the sun. How will Avantika, the daughter of earth tolerate it?

In Suryalok

Devi Sangya asked the same question to Suryadev, 'Arya, the daughter of Agnidev rejected my son, but how the daughter of earth can stand against Karna's radiance. I remember what pain I felt when you had your full strength and radiance. I cannot even come near you.'

Suryadev, 'Devi, Mother earth has the power to contain my radiance and heat within herself. Earth is the symbol of endurance. Avantika was born with her mother's strength. Only she can contain his power.'

Next day

Karna went to the bank of river Ganga to perform his morning prayer. He was missing his Pita, Mata and siblings in Suryalok. During his stay not only his parents but all other members like his stepmother Chaya, brother Yama and Shani, sister Yamuna loved him. But here on earth, his own brothers did not like him. During the marriage function, Bheem and Nakul never left any chance to taunt him. Yudhishtir and Sahadev did not say anything bad but they did not stop their brothers either. Karna also felt bad for Draupadi's rude behavior as well. He always respected her as she was her younger brother's wife but it seemed like she had a personal grudge against him. He saw that Draupadi was a kind and sweet person who even talked politely with her maids as well. But when it came to Karna, her behavior was very cruel. Karna was confused. Why was she angry with him? But what pained him most was his mother's silence. Even after seeing her eldest being taunted, humiliated by her other children, she never said anything. 

After the puja instead of returning home, Karna sat on the bank. For the past few days whenever he felt bad, he just closed his eyes and thought about the girl. Her thought took away all his pain and he felt complete bliss. Suddenly he heard a jingling sound of payal. Turning he saw the person whom he wanted to see for the last couple of days.....the mystery girl. She wore a simple light blue-colored dress with simple jewelry. Still, she looked like some celestial beauty in the morning light. Karna was mesmerized by her. He could not turn his gaze away. The girl had a pot in her hand to bring water. She came near the river and looked at Karna. For Karna, it seemed like the time was stopped. 

Avantika

Avantika had a habit to wake up early every day. She helped her mother to do all household chores, She also helped the villagers by giving them medicines. She also taught the young children reading and writing. The villagers also loved and respected her for her sweet nature. Every day she came to the river in the afternoon during the sunset to get water for their house, but yesterday she was busy and didn't have time to fetch water. So today she came early morning.

Avantika was lost in her thought. Her parents wanted to find a suitable groom for her. She never disobeyed her parents and would marry whomever they chose for her. But she always felt a deep void in her life as if there was someone waiting for her. She was a practical girl, never believed in a prince in a white horse. But at night she had dreams, dream of a person with big lotus eyes and a calm smile. She never saw his face properly but that mysterious man always came in front of her and raised his hand towards her and asked her to hold his hand. 

Her dream became clearer and clearer from the day she met Radha aunty's son. She went to their house as friend Roopmati wanted her help. There she saw him. Karna...that's his name. He was decorating the door. He looked almost like the mystery man from her dream. When he smiled at her, it seemed like the sunlight became brighter. His deep, polite voice shivered her. From that day she started seeing Karna in her dream. But she knew it was wrong. From her sister Mrinalini, she came to know that Karna was her fiancee. Avantika felt a stab in her heart after hearing this but she controlled herself. 'Why am I thinking like this? I don't even know him but still, why am I feeling so restless? Hey Shivji, please help me. I need to control myself.'

But today she saw him standing in front of her. He wore a simple white dhoti with a white shawl over his perfectly chiseled upper body. He was glowing like the sun itself. The morning light gave his flawless skin a golden radiance. It seemed like Sun God himself is standing in front of her.

Both of them looked at each other. Suddenly Avantika thought, 'Avni what are you doing? He is your cousin's fiancee.' She averted her eyes and moved towards the river. 

Karna broke the silence first. 'Deviji, I want to thank you for completing my work on that day. Also want to apologize for my delay. I am sorry that you had to finish all the work alone.'

Avantika, 'Please don't need to apologize or thanks. I am happy to help.'

Karna, 'The decorations were very beautiful. By the way, may I know your name? I am Karna, son of Shreeman Adhirath and Radhama.'

Avantika, 'I know. I am Avantika, may be you know my parents. Shreeman Saarthak and Renuka devi.'

Karna, 'Of course I know Sarthak Kaka and Renu kaki. Your mom made the best modok in the entire village.'

Avantika smiled and Karna's heart skipped a bit. 'Oh God how one can be so beautiful.' Karna knew that Sarthak kaka's daughter had good knowledge of medicine but he had no idea that she was the girl.

Karna, 'I saw you crying the other day. Avantikaji, I was so sorry for Mrinalini's behavior. Lakshmi told me everything.'

Avantika, 'Please it's okay. I don't mind her words. By the way congratulations!'

Karna, 'Congratulations! but why?

Avantika, 'For your engagement off course.'

Karna dumbfounded, 'Engagement, with whom? Who is that unlucky girl whom I need to save by breaking the engagement?'

Avantika surprised, 'Mrinalini off course. Your Fiancee.'

Karna again dumbfounded, 'Mrinalini ....that beauty queen..Haha. Sorry my lady I should not talk about a girl like that but no.. she is not my fiancee.'

Avantika, 'But she and aunt Sumedha told everyone that they fixed Mrinal's marriage with you.'

Karna, 'Oh God...please save me. Before this marriage, I will surely take sannyas.'

Krishna smiled mischievously.  

Avantika could not stop herself anymore, she started laughing. Karna completely lost himself in her laughter. 'She is perfect. it's like a goddess herself came down to earth.' Suddenly Karna remembered Draupadi, she was like a fire, the scorching sun in the midday that could burn but this girl, her beauty had a calmness like the full moon night. Then Avantika said, 'I have to take my leave, I am late for work. Nice talking to you Karna.' Little did they know, few pairs of eyes were watching the scene and were burning with jealousy. 

Next- Karna accept defeat

Note: Something happened that really saddened me. Someone started a book but it has many scenes completely copied from my story just changing a few grammers and arranging the lines dialogues a little differently. I just want to request, please don't copy the exact scenes or the dialogues. Sometimes we got inspired by others' works and use the ideas to write the stories but always tried to represent them differently. I also asked permission from MAYANKKUKREJA26 whose story inspired me.
