The army of Hastinapura reached the Panchal border. Listening to the news Drupad was furious. He already wanted to take revenge on his daughter's honor but he waited as he knew that attacking Hastinapur without Pandavas would be a grave mistake. Sometimes he thought that his decision to marry his daughter to Arjun was also a mistake, 'Those who cannot protect their own wife, how could they help me in getting my revenge?' But now the army of Hastinapur was here. He also came to know from his spies that the Karna whom his daughter insulted was none other than the eldest brother of Pandavas and he was the one who protected his daughter. And now he had come to attack Panchal along with a huge army. Drupad called his generals, Dhrishtadyumna and Shakandini to plan strategies.

Dhrishtadyumna, 'Pitashri, we have more infantry than Hastinapur as from our information we know that Hastinapur still had enough soldiers in their borders and in the capitol. That means they don't bring enough soldiers to attack us.'

Shikhandini, 'But Yuvraj Duryodhana is not a fool to bring less number of soldiers. We need to know from where do they bring this army and what's the number?'

Drupad, 'Shikhandini you are thinking much. We are ready for the attack. Once we capture the Yuvraj, then Bheesm will come and you will get your revenge.'

On the battlefield,

Both the armies were ready in front of each other. Both of them were waiting for the commanders' orders. Drupad, 'Duryodhana, you insulted my daughter. Today I will take my revenge.'

Karna, 'Maharaj, first you have to cross me to reach to the yuvraj.'

Drupad ordered his army to form a Vyuh.

Shakuni, 'What kind of Vyuh is that? I have never seen such a weird vyuh.'

Karna smiled, 'So you are making naag Vyuh, okay I have a perfect strategy to break it.'

Karna ordered, 'Shyena-vyuh'

Then they ordered the respective armies to attack. The Shyena or Gadud vyuh destroyed Drupad's vyuh formation completely. Shakhandini tried to attack Duryodhana. Karna was busy in fighting with Drupad and in the meantime, both Shikhandini and Duryodhana were engaged in a fierce duel.

Seeing that Shakuni screamed, 'Karna save the Yuvraj,' as Shikhandini was overpowering Duryodhana but suddenly she was distracted. Everyone was shocked to see Bheesm came on the battlefield in front of Dyruodhana.

Shakuni, 'From where did Mahamahim come?'

Shikhandini, 'Bheesm, today I will complete my vow. No one will save you today.'

She attacked Bheesm but Bheesm vanished and 6 more replicas were formed in front of her.

Duryodhana, 'How did Pitamaha know this type of illusion?'

Suddenly he looked in Karna's direction. Karna was shooting some different arrows which were turned into Bheesm's image. Karna just smiled and said, 'This is "Maya Asurastra". It can create any illusions I want to distract my opponent. Yuvraj, go and attack her and bind her.'Saying that he himself shot Mrityunjaya Astra to the soldiers to destroy their lines. 

Duryodhana captured Shikhandini while Karna shot Parshwapastra which put Dhrishtadyumna into sleep. He then ordered Drupad to surrender. He had no other choice but to obey Karna. They took him to the Hastinapur's camp to negotiate the treaties. Grudgingly Drupad agreed to all their conditions and pay the tributes. 

From then Hastinapur's Digvijay was started. 

In the western direction, Karna after defeating Drupad defeated all the small kingdoms.

In the northern direction, Karna defeated Bhagadutta the king of Pragjyotish. Then he went to the Himalayas to win all the kings. 

In the Eastern direction, he won Bangas, Kalingas, Mandikas,Magdhas & Karkalhandas, Avasiras, Yodhyas & Ahishastras. In Batsa-Bhoomi he killed the Rakshasas to free the people there. He also won their kingdom including Kevali, Mrittikevali, Mohana, Patrana, Tripura & Konasa.

In the south, he defeated Rukmi, Pandya, Nila, Chedi, Yavana & Varvara & many others. 

Then he also won all remaining regions including Mlechecheas, Bhadra, Rohitakas, Agneyas, Malavas, Sasakasand, Yavanasunder & many others.

Meanwhile in the Kamyak forest,  

The Pandavas stayed in the Kamyak forest. Avni also stayed with them. When she first met with the Pandavas, it took all her self controls not to beat them in that instance. Somehow Krishna controlled her and asked her to control the Pandavas so that they could not further do any stupidity. After Krishna left, Avni ordered them, 'Look I don't want to speak in your personal matters but if you want to regain your kingdom after the exile, you have to prepare yourselves.'

Bheem, 'Please order us Bhabishri, what do we have to do?'

Avni (irritated), 'Don't call me bhabishri, you have no right to call me that. It's devi Avantika to you.'

The Panadavas and Draupadi were scared to see her Rudrani Avatar. They just hung their heads as it was their stupidity that destroyed her life. Somehow Avni controlled her anger and said, 'Bheem, Nakul and Sahadev, first of all, you all should start penance to please your divine fathers respectively to get boons to raise your power. Arjun you shall go to Himalaya to start penance to please Lord Mahadev to get Pashupat Astra. Arya had all the tri Shastras of Tridevs but you also need to have at least some of the divine weapons.'

Arjun and all other three Panadavs, 'Sure Devi, we will do whatever you ordered to us.'

Then Avni told Yudhistir, 'You and Draupadi shall take care of the people living in the forest. By people, I mean all people not only the sages. You shall feed the sages as well give education to the local tribal people and teach them weapons, Shastra, Ved, Puran. Till now you always serve the high-class people. Now it's the time to retribution by spreading your knowledge to all. In fact all of you, when you finished your penance, I want you all to teach your knowledge to them and try to learn from them as well. The local tribal people also have many knowledge about the forests, medicines animals etc. You cannot understand each other unless you exchange your Gyan among each other.'

All the Pandavas and Draupadi, 'Sure Devi, we will do it.'

Avni, 'And Draupadi, if I see you discriminate among the people, then no one will save you from my wrath. Not even Govind. I am the daughter of mother earth. She never differentiates among her children, so I also believe in equality and will not tolerate any kind of bias or favoritism towards any caste.'

After arranging everything Avni made a small hut for herself separate from the Pandavas. Every day she supervised their works, helped them in serving food to the sages, give education to the local tribal people and at night she watched the surrounding to protect themselves from enemies. Both Yudhisthir and Draupadi were stunned to see leadership quality. Sometimes Draupadi felt jealous towards the girl who had complete perfection in all her work. But she realized that instead of being jealous she should try to be like her. For Yudhisthir Avni became his role model. Till now he did whatever was written in the books. But he realized one should do what was good for the society not written on the scripts. 

Avni even contacted Hidimba and Ghatotkach and befriend them. Hidimba called her Jiji and she was Jyasht mata to Ghatotkach. She taught Ghatotkach shastra, Ved, Puran and she also learned many things about the Rakshas culture from them.

Draupadi tried to befriend her many times but Avni always had an aura of seriousness around her which made her completely unapproachable to them. In the mean time Bheem, Nakul and Sahadev also returned. They also felt guilty and sad because of her cold behavior towards them. Seeing Draupadi sad once Yudhisthir asked, 'Panchali, why are so sad? I know you are having difficulty staying in the forest.'

Draupadi, 'No Arya, I am sad that even after all these years, Jiji is still angry with us. She loved Hidimba but always avoided me.'

Yudhisthir, 'It's our fault that she is angry on us. But I am sure one day both she and Jyasht will forgive us.'
