Chapter 4: Nagisa's Phantom Classroom, Part 2

~Karma's POV~

I walked into the classroom and smirked, sensing the fear off of the students immediately. No surprise, they're probably concerned about the Kendo sword in my hand. I smiled brightly at them. "Good morning kids. As you've probably all logically deduced by this point, I'm your new math teacher. And what also must be growing obvious by this point is that each of your new teachers are phantoms. And that each phantom offers a reward if you manage to hit them. I'm no different from the others." I said. I smacked the Kendo sword into my palm, scaring a couple of them. "You mange to hit me, I'll let you skip for a day. Any of your other classes too. Basically hitting me is a 'get out of any class' free card. But I warn you now, the others don't bite back. I do." I said. I noticed an empty desk in the front row. "Where's Akane?" I questioned. Tori raised her hand in the back. "I think I saw her chatting with Asano on her way out the door." She said. I sighed a little. "Well she better hurry up. I'm not the most patient out of the phantoms." I growled. "Yeah, yeah. I get it teach." I shot a smirk at the door. "Akane. How nice of you to join us." I said. The red headed female waved a little before sitting down. "So anyways. Who here is actually good at math, or at the very least likes it?" I questioned. Everyone shot eachother looks. But no one raised their hands. I sighed a little. "Thought so. As I've gathered, math is the least favorite subject of  most people. Whether or not they're just bad at the subject or if they legit just don't find it useful is up for debate. Most of the time however, you will actually be really good at math, it's just that the teacher doesn't explain it properly. Which is where I come in." I said. I leaned on the Kendo sword with a smirk. "I plan on explaining the subject quickly with ease. I'm not planning on over complicating the explanation or try to make sense of it and explain why it works like that. This is how it works, just memorize it. Surely you can do that, correct?" I questioned. The children all nodded. "Excellent. Now then, for the first day I'll just be answering questions. We aren't gonna do any work first day. I'm not that cruel. I'm cruel, but not Karasuma cruel." I said, rolling my eyes a little. The kids continued asking questions and I answered to the best of my ability. Mostly questions about me and the others. I made sure to keep somethings confidential. I'm not an idiot. Eventually the class period was over. "That's the lunch bell. Class dismissed." I said, leaving the room. I walked to the teachers lounge seeing the others already there. "Hey guys." I greeted, sitting next to Shadow. "Hey Karma." Asano returned. "Anyway, as I was saying, I don't care. It may have been a few years but I could still beat him if I wanted to." Nagisa hissed at Itona. "Fat chance viper boy. He'd kick your a*s before you even got a hit in." Itona argued back. Nagisa scoffed. "I'd like to see him try. You think I've just been lounging around the entire seven years?" Nagisa shot back. "You may have kept your skills sharp but he's in an entirely different league now. You think you could take on (Y/N)? No? Then you have no f*cking chance." Asano commented. "What are you guys talking about?" I questioned. "Nagisa here thinks that he could beat you in a fight." (Y/N) said, sipping on some tea. "I could!" Nagisa protested with a small whine. I chuckled. "Oh that's funny. Nagisa you have no chance." I said. "You're overly confident! I beat you once I can beat you again!" The blueberry growled. I sighed a little. "One, I let you win that and everyone knows it. Two, it's been seven years and my training has only gotten tougher. Three, I am no longer (Y/N)'s apprentice Nagisa, I'm officially her partner now. Which means I'm on her level. As Asano said, if you think you can beat her, then challenge me, by all means. However, if you even think for a second that you could beat either of us after seven years, when we've been training non stop while you've studied teaching, you'd better think again." I growled. Nagisa looked f*cking livid I tell you. "You, me. PE tomorrow. We'll settled this then." Nagisa hissed before leaving the room. "He's so dead." Itona muttered. "Don't kick his a*s too hard man." Asano said, shooting me a look. Shads just sighed a little before sipping her tea again. "His bloodlust has been pent up for too long and it's on the verge of snapping. Karma, it's best to get the fight over with as soon as possible." She advised. I nodded, having sensed the coiled cobras inside of Nagisa's aura. "Right now, he's dangerous and out for blood. We'd better watch him closely." I mumbled.

~Time Skip~

The day went by quickly. Itona taking care of Science then Shads taking Language. I finished the day with Home EC. We all got home, Nagisa going back to whatever apartment he had now. I sighed a little, standing in front of the room with the blue door on the first floor. "Thinking about him, huh?" (Y/N) asked, appearing at my side in a flash. I smiled a little. "Yep. Wondering how he's been doing over seven years. You think he missed us?" I questioned. She nodded. "Probably. You know how lonely he can get sometimes." She agreed. I sighed a little. Feeling a tap on my shoulder. Me and (Y/N) both looked behind us to see Caramel standing there. "The kids want to see you." She said. I smiled in pride as did (Y/N). "Go ahead and bring them up. It's time they meet the others." (Y/N) said. Caramel nodded before heading down the underground passage to go and get the kids. I sat on the couch and (Y/N) sat next to me. A couple of minutes later we were both tackled by two red and black blurs. "Mom! Dad!" They said in unison. I chuckled a little picking up the blur that tackled me. Noting the pure red hair and mostly red clothing I smiled. "Natsu. How's it going little buddy?" I questioned. My son smiled a full toothed smile at me. "Things are going great! And I totally beat Phoenix and Mario Kart again!" Natsu responded. "Liar! You cheated!" Phoenix responded, sitting on (Y/N)'s shoulders and sticking his tongue out at his brother. I smiled brightly at my family. My real family. Natsu took mostly after me. Looking exactly like me with pure red hair and wearing mostly red. Honestly, once he got older I was afraid of people mistaking us for eachother. He had my gold eyes too. And didn't have his mother's pale skin. Phoenix however looked a little like his mother. Or, more accurately took after his mother. He had red hair and gold eyes as well, but there was a few strands of black hair. He wore mostly back like his mother but he also wore glasses. According to (Y/N) bad eyesight came from her father's side of the family. She never had bad eyesight but she did carry the genes for it. Granted, Phoenix does have dragon eyesight. Whenever his eyes turn into slits he can see just as well and as far as the rest of us. But if his eyes aren't slits he's apparently near sighted. And can't see distance very well.

Natsu and Phoenix are both twins. They looked exactly like eachother minus a few of Phoenix's features. (Y/N) wasn't kidding when she mentioned that they looked like me. Both boys took after their father. But Natsu was the twin more like me. Phoenix, as said earlier, takes after his mother in more ways than one. "So we heard you two got your powers. Care to show us?" (Y/N) prompted. Phoenix held out his hand and a tiny black flame flickered to life in the center of his hand. Natsu snorted a little before lighting his hand on fire. "Great. Another thing they get from you." (Y/N) mumbled. I snickered a little. "Hey, let's be fair here. The red hair and gold eyes are dominant genes in my family." I retorted. "Oh is fire more powerful than shadows now?" (Y/N) shot back. "I'm the one with the elemental advantage here." I returned. "I was joking Karma. It's better for them to have fire anyways. Less dangerous." (Y/N) said. "Riiiiight. Because two five year olds with fire is definitely safe." I said sarcastically while sweatdropping. (Y/N) snickered a little. We heard footsteps and I saw Asano yawning a little, coming down the stairs. "Done with your nap Asano?" I questioned. He nodded slightly before walking to the kitchen. "Three." (Y/N) started. "Two." I muttered. "One!" Phoenix and Natsu chorused. "Wait a second!" Asano said, poking his head back out to look at us. I smiled and set Natsu down. (Y/N) did the same for Phoenix. "Kids, that's your uncle Asano. We've mentioned him before, go say hi." (Y/N) said, nudging them forward. Asano knelt down in front of them, looking like he was about to tear up. "Holy-, I'm actually an uncle. Oh my God." Asano muttered. Me and (Y/N) started laughing a little. "Asano, you alright there?" I questioned. He shook his head slightly before hugging the both of them. "I'm more than alright." He said, tears starting to fall from his eyes. Eventually Itona came down and had almost the same reaction. Ritsu had known about the kids for a while now. In fact her and Caramel helped take care of them for a while since me and Shads got so busy at times. Eventually the kids passed out on the couch with smiles on their faces. Asano and Itona were currently glaring at me and (Y/N). "You two....are such a*sholes." Asano hissed quietly. "What did we do!?" I whisper shouted. "You f*cking hid them from us!" Itona spat in annoyance. (Y/N) rolled her eyes. "Well we aren't now are we?" She questioned. "That doesn't change anything!" Asano spat. "Demon Gods, why did you even hide them in the first place!?" Itona questioned. I scratched the back of my neck a little. "Um..." (Y/N) trailed off avoiding eye contact. "You don't even have a good reason do you!?" Asano growled. "Okay, calm down you guys." Caramel interjected. "Where did you even hide them!?" Itona questioned. "(Y/N)'s summer house." I responded. Asano tapped his foot in slight annoyance. "Underground there's a large cavern directly under the house. I used my shadows to make a small house down there for whenever I needed a day off. I never wanted to be too far away incase I was needed. So I needed my vacation spot close by. Hence my summer home." Shads explained. "The cavern has a river, all kinds of plants, including a few small trees. But the ground is really soft, surprisingly. Covered in a layer of moss and grass. (Y/N) really liked that since she has a habit of passing out at the worst times whenever she's tired." I added. The (H/C) haired female elbowed me in the ribs causing me to chuckle a little before muttering a quiet 'ow'. As Shads kept talking to the others my thoughts kept turning to what happened with Nagisa. I walked over to the kids before picking them both up. "Hey Shads, I'm taking them up to our floor." I said as I was walking past. She nodded as I started moving up the stairs. Itona and Asano let out quiet protests but were hushed immediately. Once I got up to me and (Y/N)'s floor I found the room that we had set aside for the kids. I got them tucked into their new bed before turning off the lights and quietly closing the door. I went a little further down to the room across from me and Shads bedroom. I walked inside the training room. I pulled out my knife and started practicing.

A couple of minutes to an hour later there was a knock on the door. (Y/N) walked in with a small smile while I was practicing with a training dummy. "I thought I might find you here." She said before chucking something at me. I dropped what I was doing and caught it. A strawberry milk carton. I smiled a little before sheathing my knife. "Alright. I get the message." I said, taking the straw and unwrapping it. She sat down on the small bench we had and I sat next to her. I poked the straw through the hole and took a few sips. "You worried about your fight with Nagisa?" (Y/N) asked. I shot her a smirk. "What? Of course not. Just because it's the blueberry doesn't mean I'm worried." I said. She gave me a serious look. "Not even worried about hurting him on accident?" She questioned. I sighed a little before ruffling her hair. "You worry too much Shads." I said. She smiled a bit before grabbing my hand and intertwining our fingers. "Maybe I do. But don't hurt him....too badly. You don't want to terrify the students." She said. "You're having them watch?" I questioned. She smirked a little. "Well it's during my class period. Don't have much of a choice. Besides, might serve to prove something to the kids." She added. "Prove what exactly?" I questioned. She held a finger to her lips while winking. "Proving a point is all. That no matter how good you were, if you don't train or work harder everyone else will long surpass you." She said. I nodded before kissing her forehead. "That's a good lesson to teach them." I muttered. She tugged me to my feet. "C'mon. I have a surprise for you." She said. I couldn't help but smile at the happy expression on her face. "Alright. Alright. I'm coming. No need to drag me." I said with a laugh. (Y/N) led me over to our room before pushing the door open. She dragged me inside before closing the door behind us and leading me over to the desk where a wrapped gift box was waiting. "What's the occasion?" I questioned, shooting her a look. She snickered a little. "Demon Gods Karma. Not every gift I give you has to be for some occasion." She said before handing me the box. It was light, not very heavy but clearly held something inside. I fiddled with it for a minute judging the weight before guessing what was inside. "A pet? No, then the smell would be stronger. Book? No, box is too big." I hummed a little to myself. "Clothes. Final answer." I said. She nodded a little. "Not just any clothes though. Open it." She said. I nodded before removing the wrapping paper. Then I opened the box. Upon seeing what was inside a smirk came to my face. "Seriously Shads. What's the occasion?" I questioned. "Try it on." (Y/N) said. "With pleasure." I muttered, ducking into the bathroom.

~Time Skip, Tomorrow Morning, Akane's POV~

I yawned a little, walking behind Shadow as we made our way out to the field. Tori was walking next to me with a bright, cheery expression. We stopped out at the field when I saw something.....odd. Nagisa-sensei. Just standing there. In the center of the field. But something was off about him. I was getting a weird tense feeling from him. His head snapped up as he glared at Shadow. "Where is he?" Nagisa-sensei questioned. Shadow waved a hand dismissively. "He'll come, if that's what you're worried about. Now answer me this Nagisa: When was the last time you fought someone? Or done anything to quell bloodlust?" Shadow questioned. Nagisa-sensei avoided eye contact. As if he was a student getting scolded by his teacher about a rule he broke. And knowing how odd the Phantoms were at times, this situation could very well be just that. Shadow sighed a little. "I had a feeling." She mumbled. I noticed movement out of the corners of my eyes, seeing Asano and Itona walk up with two little kids. Looking about five years old. They else looked like mini versions of Karma. A girl was walking behind them. She had long golden brown hair with eyes that matched. One of the children wore mostly red, looking exactly like Karma in every way. While the other had a small black highlight in his hair, wearing mostly black with framed glasses. They both ran over tackle hugging Shadow. "Mom!" They both said in unison. That's when it dawned on me and I facepalmed. "Right! That's Phoenix and Natsu! Shadow and Karma's kids!" I mumbled, remembering the picture the two showed me. My eyes were drawn to the long haired female in the back. "That must be Caramel then." I mumbled. Nagisa-sensei's eyes lingered on Phoenix and Natsu. "Is that-are they....?" He trailed off. Shadow nodded. "Blueberry, these are me and Karma's kids. Phoenix, Natsu, that's Nagisa. He's the one who's gonna be fighting your father today." Both boys had large grins on their faces. "Hello!" They both greeted in unison. Natsu giggled. "We've heard a lot about you Nagisa-san!" He said. Phoenix nodded. "Have fun sparring with dad. Oh, and good luck!" He added, pushing his glasses up with a smirk more similar to Shadow's than to Karma's. Both children ran off towards the steps that led down into the field before sitting down. Natsu slid something towards Phoenix with a very Karma-like smirk before mumbling something to his brother. Phoenix shook his head before pointing at Nagisa-sensei while saying something. Shadow turned to the class while sweatdropping. "Sorry about them. It's one of their first outings. And Caramel wanted to see the fight so they're probably gonna be sticking around for a while." She said. "What fight?" One kid asked. Shadow facepalmed. "Your homeroom teacher believes that after seven years he could beat Karma in a one on one fight." She grumbled. She then shot me a look. "Can you watch Natsu and Phoenix for me Akane?" She questioned. I nodded a little before tugging at Tori's arm a little. "Only if she comes with though." I said. Shadow nodded. "Deal." She said. I tugged Tori over to the children. They both stopped talking when they saw us coming. "Hi. I'm Akane! This is my friend Tori. Mind if we sit here with you?" I questioned with a smile. Both boys scooted over letting us sit down. I noticed Phoenix and Natsu both giving me weird looks. "Something up?" I questioned. They both blinked at me before Natsu smiled brightly. "We saw Mom talking to you. Do you know her?" He asked. I nodded a little. "Yeah. I know your mom. She's one of my teachers." I responded. Phoenix tilted his head at me. "You're pretty strong, aren't you?" He questioned. "What do you mean?" I asked. He pushed up his glasses a little before Natsu punched his arm playfully while sticking his tongue out. "Ignore him. My brother asks things like that to every new person he meets." Natsu said. Phoenix had a tick mark forming on his forehead. "Well I don't meet new people often Natsu!"Phoenix hissed a little, pushing his brother a little. I sweatdropped, sticking a hand between them. "Alright kids. Enough of that." I grumbled. That's when we heard a noise. Every head flew towards the sky as a flash of light was seen. Fire. That was all that was visible until it crashed into the ground next to Shadow. Causing the rest of my class to jump back while screaming bloody murder. "Dad!" Phoenix and Natsu shouted in unison. The fire fell away revealing Karma. My eyes widened a little as did a few of the others as Shadow smirked. He wore a red undershirt and black pants along with black combat boots. There was also a utility belt with many forms of weapons and other equipment attached. He wore a black tail coat over it all, along with a red and gold mask. The tail coat had red trim, looking brand new. And on the back of the tail coat was a logo. Two dragons rearing up, placing their talons on a P with a snake curled around their back talons. That's when I noticed something else. There was something red curled around Karma's form. With hints of gold here and there. Karma's hands were covered with black gloves, hints of red outlining visible when you squinted at him. Karma and Nagisa-sensei glared at eachother for a while. Then Nagisa-sensei started laughing a little. "Great minds think alike, eh Red Devil?" He questioned as something behind him moved. I heard the hiss before I saw Guardian. Nagisa-sensei's snake slithered up next to him as Nagisa-sensei rubbed the blue scaled animal. Karma smirked as the thing around him moved. Two blood red wings with gold membrane spread from Karma's back, causing the tail coat to flutter a little as a red scaly head poked up from Karma's shoulder. I sucked in a gasp. "A dragon." I muttered as the creature crawled off of Karma and onto the ground. "Flare!" Phoenix and Natsu cheered. Shadow shot a look at the two before stomping her foot. "What did I say about bringing familiars into this!?" She shouted. Guardian hissed a little, coiling up by Nagisa-sensei's feet as Karma's dragon lowered itself to the ground. Spreading it's wings and hissing a little itself. "Is that a new uniform!?" Asano shouted, throwing his hands out in front of him. "It's a prototype. I consider this to be an....appropriate testing ground." Shadow said with a smirk.

Karma and Nagisa-sensei slowly began approaching eachother. Their creatures following in toe. I saw Tori's eyes following both males carefully. "Who do you think will win?" I muttered to her. Tori didn't respond for a while until her eyes widened in fear. "Karma. No questions asked." She mumbled. I raised an eyebrow. "Why do you say that?" I asked. "Their auras. Their Bloodlust. Akane can't you see it? They're on completely different levels-Karma, is on a completely different level." Tori muttered, pointing a shaky hand at Karma. That's when everything in the area went black for me besides the two males and their respective creatures. That's when I saw it. Flare and Guardian both faded in the back ground as different creatures replaced them. The same species mind you. But....different. A large blue snake, bigger than Guardian was coiled up around Nagisa-sensei. Hissing in furry as ice formed under Nagisa-sensei's feet. No. Not just one snake. Many of them. Many blue snakes appeared around Nagisa-sensei. But my eyes widened at what I saw standing behind Karma. A large, larger than large dragon was behind Karma. Towering over both males. The dragon was huge. Under it's scales rippled muscle as it's tail lashed back and forth. It let out one growl. A single growl that sent tremors to my very bones. Fire began to form in it's mouth as a furious hiss could be heard rising in it's throat. Everything snapped back to normal as I stumbled back a little, eyes wide with fear. Tori noticed my distress. "You saw it didn't you? The snakes and the dragon." She said. I nodded slightly when I heard two giggles. I turned my head to look at Phoenix and Natsu, both of which wore matching smirks. Both of them having hints of Karma and Shadow. "You see why I wished Nagisa-san good luck?" Phoenix questioned. Natsu crossed his arms. "That twig doesn't stand a chance. The only one who can stand up to father is mother." He said. Both boys turned their attention to the fight as Karma and Nagisa-sensei slid into different stances. "Tori..." I muttered. "Yeah?" She questioned. "How bad is the damage gonna be?" I asked. "Dunno. Too hard to tell." She said.

"Nagisa! Let's make this fight a little more interesting shall we?" Karma questioned with a smirk. "Oh?" Nagisa-sensei questioned. "A little wager. Sound good to you?" Karma asked. Nagisa-sensei scoffed a little. "What are the terms?" He prompted. "If I win, you have to come back to the team and restart Phantom training." Karma said. "And if I win?" Nagisa-sensei questioned. "No need for that. Cuz you aren't gonna win." Karma said with an eye roll. Nagisa-sensei's eyes dilated into slits. "Deal." He hissed, pulling out a blue knife. Karma chuckled. "Oh Nagisa. My dear dear friend." He trailed off a little before snapping his attention back into focus. A serious look spreading across Karma's face as he relaxed his stance and lowered his guard.

"You just made a fatal error."
