Prologue

Drowning. Slowly sinking, drowning. It pours into my lungs, filling my throat, and my vision. Miles around me, nothing else in sight. I'm alone. Completely and utterly alone. I try to claw my way back up to the surface, refusing to let myself be consumed. The fear of what might lurk in the depths, and of what I might become, fueling my efforts. But its useless....

I don't feel like I'm any closer to the surface. In this ocean of madness, my efforts only result in me sinking further. I'm so afraid. Why is this happening to me? Why did I fall in? I'm terrified. I have no idea what will happen to me. Everything feels like its burning. But eventually, the panic in my mind slowly becomes numb. The stinging pain in my lungs, a reminder I was still alive. Why me? Why is no one reaching to try and save me?

How long has it been? How far have I sunk into this realm of madness? It's still in my lungs, my air slowly replaced by the waters of insanity. The longer I remain here the more calm it feels to me. I'm being consumed, and I no longer have the energy to fight it. I hear laughter. My eyes shoot open as I look around. I then realized the source of the sound. It was coming from myself. I reached up to cover my mouth, but my arms wouldn't move. My eyes drifted shut again, letting my own laughter ring out into the water around me.

The calm around me, the silence, it was suffocating. But my body has become one with the madness around me. I feel warm and fuzzy. As if consumed by the warm embrace of a friend. The thought made me giggle. I was able to relax. I felt safe, and strangely enough peaceful. What was I so scared of before? Insanity is a friend to me. It welcomed me in its warmth. Yes....warm and peaceful.

Feeling slowly returned to me. I was able to move again. My hands cut through the water smoothly, met with little resistance. I could easily glide through the water now. Chuckling and giggling to myself as I did so. I stared further down into the water. Into the dark depths in which I had no idea of what resided in it. Tilting my head to the side, I dove deeper. Giggling a little as I swam further down. I wanted to explore my new domain. My curiosity at an all time high.

Drowning. Slowly sinking, drowning. My mind was so consumed by doubt before. My mind was so easy to trick before. But a broken mind surrounded by the waters of insanity is a lot harder to fool. Fear and doubt now such a foreign concept. I didn't realize how powerful I was until it was too late. And people suffered the consequences. I was scared of what I was capable of. But now I'm not. Why couldn't I see before? No one can touch me down here. No one can hurt me if they can't reach me. My laughter echoed in the water. I felt invincible.

I laugh as hands reached into the water, begging me to take them. I laughed, seeing eyes stare at me in both fear and concern. I laugh, seeing small flickers of insanity in every pair of eyes. I open my mouth, and tell them to join me. Everyone is a little insane, they just need the right motivation to jump in after me. I spread my arms and just laugh. What a wonderful feeling! Voices echo in my ears, and I see one or two people dive in after me. But they never reach the levels of madness that I reside in. I see them fail to follow me all the way down. Their fear keeping them tethered to the surface.

My gaze scans over the eyes once again, finding a new pair of eyes that I had not yet seen. The golden gaze held two things that I knew well. Bloodlust, and insanity. He reaches into the water, and for once I reach back up. Our hands brush before gripping onto eachother tightly. He tries to yank me up to the surface, and I try to pull him down into insanity. All eyes fly to us. Wondering what would turn out from the battle. He struggles against my hold, but I can see into his mind. He's insane, just like me. But not on my level...yet at least. I pull harder with new energy, a smirk on my face as he slips a little. I want to drown him. It's been so long since I've wanted something. Our battle rages on, and the number of on-lookers increase.

Who will win I wonder? Pure insanity, or suppressed bloodlust? Place your bets folks. This will be an exciting match!

Rejected. Betrayed. Outcast. How is this justice? But I have to cling to it. I made a deal after all. I can't go back to how I was. Not like I want to in the first place. But I do miss the rush. The freedom....I shouldn't think like this. I shouldn't be thinking this at all. But I can't stop what runs in my head. Nor what's in my blood. I'm not as strong as some of my friends. And yet, why am I seen as their superior? Why do they follow me?

I'm chained down by a deal I was forced into. I never wanted this. I don't like this at all! And yet I can't get away. I have to change. Prove I'm not who I used to be. I have to stay strong. I have to become the person they want me to be. But my bloodlust is hard to contain. After years of sharpening it, and using it. I just...it's hard.

So many ties. So many lives. Different paths to take. Different roads to follow. And yet, I seem to constantly be making the wrong choices. I'm trapped. I feel helpless. Alone. Why does this always happen to me? I don't feel like myself anymore. I thrive on excitement and chaos. I want to be seen as an equal. I want to be respected and loved. Not feared. Not under constant suspicion of betrayal. Did our time together mean nothing? Why do they all hate me now? Weren't they all trained the same way I was?

Why do I only feel alive around her? Why does she make me feel like myself? I know she's manipulating me. I know she's cornering me. I know she's trapping me. But I don't feel scared. I don't mind. I find it exciting. Just how f*cked up did I become over the years? Dealing with an insane murderer and I feel more comfortable in her presence. Her games are fun. She's interesting to me. I should be fighting her. I should be arresting her. But I won't go back on my word. Not ever. Not even to someone like her.

It's hard to say. But as I learn more about her, the more I want to spend time with her. I want to find out more. I want to know what bothers her. So weird. Then again, I am weird.

I can see now what he's been doing. I'm not going to fall under his rule if he's constantly going to use me! I'm not a tool! Deal or no deal, I'm done. I refuse to be a part of this any longer! I am my own person! And I decide what I want to do! It's time to break my chains. It's time to sharpen my knife again. This is my life, and I'm taking it back from those who've robbed me of myself! Maybe I'm a little insane. Maybe I am like her. But it doesn't matter. I've been wronged. And those that have wronged me will pay.

Two minds tortured and insane.
Find eachother in the weirdest game.
One's heart as red as hell flame.
The other's heart anything but sane.

A battle of light.
A battle of night.
A battle of strife.
A battle to prove who's right.

We have a king.
Who's soul silently sings.
We have a wild card.
Who is almost always on guard.

Battle of insanity.
Battle of calamity.
One fighting for his sanity.
The other to destroy humanity.

Welcome one and all, To Kiss of Insanity!
