Chapter 14.

She would never do such a thing. I walk over to her.

"Julie? Julie?" She turns and looks my direction.

"Hey"

"Hey?"

"Yeah what's up?" I can not believe how dump she's playing right now.

"What's up? Julie are you okay?"

"Uhm yeah I'm good."

"You forgot didn't you?"

"Forgot what?"

"That we were supposed to meet at Pizzaiolo at three."

"Oh no. I am so sorry. I'm so so sorry Dale. I totally forgot, I just have a lot on my mind."

"You could have at least texted me."

"I know. I'm sorry Dale I forgot. Please forgive me?" Her voice is shaky and small.

"It's fine Julie. I'll forgive you only on one condition."

"Which is?"

"You have to tell me what made you forget about our lunch today!" I raise my eyebrows.

"It's nothing major." Her voice is low. I sit down next to her. I see a tear coming out. I look up to the grey cloudy sky, looks like it's going to rain.

"Hey! Hey!! It's okay...shh...What's wrong? Talk to me I'm here for you." I do my best to try to soothe her.

"There isn't much you can do! It's nothing really." She wipes her tear with her hand.

"You know Julie sometimes you just have to stop feeling sorry for yourself and allow Julie to be happy again."

"It's not that easy. What are you actually saying? You telling me to put all my feelings aside?" She is flaming. I can feel the fire transportation burn in my eyes.

"No that's the complete opposite of what I'm saying. I'm saying that you shouldn't deny your feelings because they alone shape you into becoming a tougher person. There is something in you that the world needs stop asking yourself where the treasure is. Juliet you are braver than you believe." She looks down at her hands but I gather them in my palm. Gosh her hands are small.

"You'll never see eagles fly if you're always looking down. Sometimes I wish that you could open up to me." She doesn't say anything. We all look at the river.

"Cheer up Minnie Mouse!" I tease her.

"Did you just call me minnie mouse." She giggles.

"Yes I did."

"Thank you." She wipes her tears

"For what?"

"For the kind words and cheering me up."

"Hello. Duh! I'm the happiness fairy. Pew, pew, pew. I just sprinkled happy golden dust on you let that dust shine and manifest on you."

"You are funny you know that?"

"Hardly! Wanna know what I do when I'm upset and need a little motivation in my life?"

"Nope. Care to tell me" That smirk. I pull out my phone from the back pocket. I turn on the screen, go to Music then play Life goes on by Tupac.

"No! No!!! Turn it off, turn it off Tupac? Really Dale he is ancient news!" Her head rolls back in laughter, it's impossible to ignore the cute dimples that pops only when she laughs this hard. The fact that I'm the one calming her down brings great pleasure to me. Damn Julie is beautiful that it hurts. I wish I had magical powers so I could rewind her laughter time and again. She laughs like red roses, Valentines can't compete with her.

I pull her slowly by her arm, she stops laughing. Irresponsible thoughts flood my mind but I push them back. The last tear fall I quickly bring my hand to her red flushed cheek, the pad of my thumb slowly captures the last tear before it rolled down to her cheek. Her lips part.

"Are you okay?" She nods. My mind is racing. I pull my bottom lip in between my teeth I'm not certain what to do now but I sure would like to keep this motion going. I remove my hand from her cheek. We are staring deep into each other's eyes the flame grew back from the retired smoke but this time out of passion not anger. It's like we are having a conversation without using words.

What is this feeling? My body moves from extinguish to ignite. It is so hard to resist her beautiful pink lips. Sensation has taken over every detailed fiber of me. I take her hair down just so I could have a better look at her gorgeous face. I have always wanted to touch it, it's so soft.

"You are so beautiful, that you make butterflies jealous." I whisper into her ear. The attraction is irresistible. Her lips are still parted like they are somehow waiting for an answer. I lean in, my lips suddenly press against hers. Her lips are soft and salty from her flourishing tears of terror. I'm glad that she did not push me back because my mouth against hers feels desirable. She knots my shirt tightening her grip, I wrap my arms around her Julie shivers.

Everything around us starts to evaporate ripping the sky open. An arch of whiteness appears from the crack above us, the light surprisingly opted Julie and I. The colorful birds stopped crying and started crowning us.

And that is what I call the perfect kiss.
