Schedules
I'm gonna say it. I don't care if it's been over two weeks since I updated my book.
I'm going to write when I want to write, not when everyone else wants me to write. Do I have chapters prepped that could be published? Yes. Am I going to publish them yet? No.
The very simple fact is that I am very impulsive. Sometimes, I need to take a minute to see if what I've written is the actual direction I want the story to go and that results in long breaks between updates. My goal is for thorough planning and forethought to result in something that feels put together rather than segmented pieces that I'll have to scrap in the end anyway.
I am not a machine. I refuse to spit out content on demand, even if I am fully capable of doing so. It comes down to the basic quality over quantity. If J.K. Rowling spent over ten years planning the world of Harry Potter and writing the first book, I think I am okay (as a highschool student writing as a hobby), to allow myself an extra two weeks to perfect a chapter.
