Kal pov

Today was my teams day off. Just got out of school (my magic lessons) and finally able to relax with my team. I have a huge problem. Thanks to Wally and his great ideas we have to have karaoke night at the cave. All of our mentors are coming. Even Roy Harper. The same guy I have a crush on for the past 4 months. I never tell him that though. He is dating his work and I couldn't handle a rejection like that. I help the team set up for the night since I refuse to participate. I found myself humming a lullaby I heard as a child when I was afraid. I was so lost in my own world I started to sing out loud.

I hear a soft whimper and some clapping. I turn around to see my team behind me.

"How long we're you standing there?" I asked
"Long enough dude." Wally spoke
"Kaldur. I didn't know you could sing." Megan asked in awe.
"No one does really. My mother taught me to sing but I just choose not to after what happened the last time I was caught singing."
"What happened?" Artemis asked
"My step father slapped me and threatened to kill me if I did. I was so scared to sing in front of people. Even after I left to live with Annex."
"Dude. You should totally sing tonight." Wally implied.
"What point of I was too scared to sing in front of people do you not understand?"
"We won't let anything happen to you." Conner inputted.
"Conner is right. The worst that people could do is laugh. Trust me you will be fine. Beside I hear a certain someone is coming too." Artemis winked at me.

She was the only one who knew about my little crush.

"Is this about Roy again." Robin asked.
"What's up with Kaldur and Roy?" Conner asked
"Nothing drop.."
"Kaldur your lying to us!" Artemis screamed
" I can feel your emotions to him. OMG! Guys Kaldur's in love." Megan cheered jumping up and down.
"I do not know what you are talking about." I lied.

My hand started to glow blue. That happens when I lie.

"Liar liar hands on fire." Wally and Robin said laughing.
"Oh zip the lip." I muttered trying to calm down so my hand would stop glowing.
"Oh. Someone is getting feisty. What's wrong don't want to admit you are in love?" Artemis teased along with the others.
"Kaldur are you sick. Because your cheeks are red." I lift my hand to my cheek and it felt hot.

The others high five Conner and laughed.

"Kaldur you should be happy you are in love. Everyone feels it sometime in life." Megan said
"You are singing tonight or we'll tell Roy you love him." Robin threatened
"You would not dare.!?" I asked
"You're right. Robin wouldn't but you know I will." Artemis said.
"Ok. I will do it. Just do not tell Roy."
"We won't now get ready. We have a show to host." Wally said while playing with his hair.
"And please pick some good song Kaldur. You'll do great." Megan hoped.

They all left the room leaving me alone. I prayed that I wouldn't make a fool of myself. I went to pick out my songs and give the list to Robin.
