Machop Line

No puns in this chapter, or I think they'll make Machoke with laughter!

This Pokémon used to make me just a little bit uncomfortable... it looked so human-like, it felt wrong giving it orders! But I still like this Pokémon quite a bit, and think of it as a fighting type classic.

Type Factor:

This Pokémon evolutionary line is purely a fighting type line. That gives it advantages over normal, ice, rock, dark, and steel types. Flying and psychic types are this Pokémon's only weaknesses, so there's a lot of potential here!

Design Factor:

I won't lie, this Pokémon's design isn't my favorite. I've always found this evolutionary line to be a bit bland, in terms of design.

However, that changes with Machamp! The four arms really adds some variety to an otherwise mediocre design. So, while I don't think this design is terrible, I certainly don't think it's amazing, either. But again, that's just my preference!

Lore factor:

According to the Pokédex information, this evolutionary line is crazy strong! For instance, Machamp is capable of moving entire mountains—with only one arm!

Stats Factor:

The strongest stat for this Pokémon is the attack stat, which is no surprise there! The lowest, however, is speed, which I actually do find surprising. I thought it would be special attack, or something!

Evolutionary Factor:

As a whole, I think this evolutionary line is decently interesting. I don't think it's the most fascinating or awe-inspiring line out there, but I do think it's pretty solid! It's certainly not a boring evolutionary line, with the four arms and all.

Conclusion:

Overall, I think that this Pokémon line is a solid classic, at least as far as fighting types go. The design may not be my favorite (at least not until Machamp comes around), but there are plenty of other wonderful factors that this Pokémon has to make it a great choice for any team!

To my fellow researchers:

Is Machop as strong as it seems? Or does it have some significant weaknesses?
