Bellsprout Line
Ah, Bellsprout. My favorite little weed!
I've always been fairly endeared to this Pokémon and its adorably, stringy limbs. In fact, it's one Pokémon that I would really like to have if Pokémon were real. Without further ado, let's dive into some more thoughts!
Type Factor:
With the sole grass type, this Pokémon would be weak to bug, fire, flying, ice, and poison.
But with the introduction of the poison type, Bellsprout's weaknesses are narrowed down to fire, flying, psychic, and ice. Not too bad!
Design Factor:
I think Bellsprout is cute! The twiggy look is endearing, to me.
I'm not a huge fan of Weepinbell, but I think the dopey vibe is cute as well.
As for Victreebel, this design is horrifying in the best way possible! I mean, look at that gaping maw! Imagine falling into the abyss of that Pokémon's jaws... yikes! Overall, this design is pretty solid!
Lore Factor:
This evolutionary line is deceptively vicious! For such a gentle looking Pokémon, the lore behind it is frightening. This Pokémon is carnivorous. Not only does it eat bugs that wander too close to it, it's been known to eat large animals whole! Fascinating lore, in my opinion!
Stats Factor:
As for stats, this Pokémon's strongest base stat is its attack while the weakest is special defense. Although the stats don't blow me out of the water, they're not a huge let down, either. This Pokémon can definitely be useful!
Evolutionary Factor:
I like this evolutionary line! I think it does a good job at taking something small and seemingly weak and turning it into a terrifying predator.
Plus, I think the entire concept of the carnivorous plant is fascinating. It's a top tier grass type to be sure!
Overall/Conclusion:
To wrap this chapter up, the Bellsprout line has a lot going for it. It has a decent type combination and a pretty good design, along with a fantastic evolutionary line as a whole. So, if you want a tough grass type, this Pokémon is the one for you!
