Carrier Range

If one thing in Yokosuka would make you interested in ship girl actions that would be the carrier range since this is the daily sight for every carrier stationed in Yokosuka to practice and hone their skills on being a carrier the most common of this was Kaga, Akagi, and finally Enterprise.

Hornet: You guys saw the new girl right?

Yorktown: Yeah she does resemble Sara and Lex for some weird reason.

Akagi: Yeah more that she resembles Saratoga-san which is weird the only notable difference she has is her hair color and her body size which is of a Battleship more so a  Dreadnought not a fast Battleship which i noticed.

At that sentence Saratoga and Lexington was silent deep in thought thinking who might be the newcomer and why her face resembles Sara in near identical proportions at the of what Akagi sentence Kaga spoke up.

Kaga: Well i can say you Americans are quite happy that you guys get a new ship all of a sudden and add to that a Dreadnought which is to be honest i didn't see yet, you guys did built plenty of classes but her not that i have seen her in my life not even in my former hull when were there at Pearl she said in her ever stoic voice.

As Kaga said that Maryland came in the carrier range trailing behind her was Sodak and Arizona at the sight of the three old battle wagons the carriers stopped what ever their doing and came up to meet the newcomer some were confused as to why bring a battleship let a lone a dreadnought to the carrier range most notably was Jun'you, Hiryuu, Souryu, and Taihou, Chitose and Chiyoda couldn't care more as they kept drinking whatever the alcohol they've brought with them.

Lexington was the first to spoke up followed by her sister Saratoga.

Lexington (CV-2): Ah so your awake now good for you, oh and my name is Lexington CV-2 first of the Lexington class fleet carrier and besides me is my sister Saratoga CV-3 she said and Sara just waved but spoke up next

Saratoga: But i gotta ask why do you resemble me well my face to be more specific did me or Lexi here have any relation to you?

As she asked that both her and Lexington just saw the wide smile of the newcomer that she is showing them and at that she nodded and said.

Sodak: Why do i look like you Sara? because i was supposed to be you and Lexi's running mate if my class was built we would've been the big guns of the navy back then and its quite amusing you guys don't remember me but does this hull number give you two any bells to ring BB-49?

At that sudden reveal who she is Lexington and Sara widened their eyes in shock as supposedly their running mate and supposedly comrade in the battle line that even never got finished or completely constructed is standing in front of them with a smile on her face and at that Lexington was first to speak.

Lexington (CV-2): South Dakota!? is that you!?

Saratoga just started to tear up and ran up to her supposedly battle buddy and hugged her and a second later Lexington joined in the hug they are doing and sobbing quietly as they are finally reunited with long lost friend that they've never once been with during their service careers.

Saratoga: I thought I'll never see you again South sara said while still tearing up.

Lexington (CV-2): I thought i'll never get to see you again o'l buddy i was shocked when the navy announced the cancellation of your class and i couldn't help but be a bit agitated at the sight of your hull being scrapped instead of being finished.

Sodak: Well i'm here and were together again and i'm more than willing to serve once again with you guys she said with a warm smile as she has her own small tears forming on her eyes that she is finally reunited with her lost friends that she didn't even met in her former hull.

As the three began to separate from their warm hug Maryland and Arizona couldn't help but crack a smile at the sight of their friends being reunited with someone they haven't seen for a long time.

At that Sodak turned her attention to the other occupants of the carrier range and greeted them.

Sodak: Hello everyone my name is USS South Dakota BB-49 of the South Dakota class Dreadnoughts.

Enterprise: Welcome to the fleet South but we already have another South Dakota on base what you'd want us to call you?

Sodak: Just call me South, or Dakota or just shorten my name to Sodak thank you very much she said with a smile.

Enterprise just nodded and then Yorktown spoke.

Yorktown: My my a new Dreadnought i guessing that battleship row would be more than delighted to have a new member with them.

Then Hornet spoke.

Hornet: Wow! so your a super dreadnought that's amazing say what's your armament specs? If your a super dreadnought like Mary and Ariz you gotta have some interesting firepower for your self.

At that Sodak just nodded 

Sodak: Well i can tell you that i am armed with 12 16 inch Mk 2 naval rifles my other armaments are not of the original as I've inspected my gear on the docks that i am using the late war configuration, well what would've been my modernized refit if i was built maybe around 1943 or 1944 configuration since i have 16 5 inch Dual Purpose guns,  quad mounted 40 mm Bofors and a handful of twin and single mounted 20 mm Oerlikon auto cannons since by the looks of it my original configuration was more so outdated to today's standards.

At that sentence Hornet was just amazed at their new comrades capabilities and firepower then Kaga and Akagi came next to Sodak and Akagi was first to speak.

Akagi: Ah good to meet you Dakota-san its a wonderful addition that you bring to our firepower especially our battleships.

Sodak: Ah hello there Akagi correct?

Akagi just nodded

Sodak: I see good to meet you and don't worry about me harboring any ill will towards the Japanese i might add since my class wasn't built and completed and i didn't fought any of you in my previous hull.

Hiryuu ask Sodak

Hiryuu: What do you mean you do not harbor any ill will towards us, you do know our nations were once at war right?

Sodak: As I've said to Akagi my class wasn't completed my hull was scrapped due to the Washington Naval treaty as such I've never harbored any ill will to you all and the war that was close during my construction was the great war which if i can remember that the United States is Allies with Japan and during my time before i returned here I've befriended two Japanese ships.

Hiryuu just nodded at the answer then Kaga spoke.

Kaga: two Japanese ships, may i ask who are these ships?

Sodak: Well during my time there I've formed good friends to the Japanese Battleship and Battle cruiser. Tosa and Amagi does that ring any bells? she said with a smile on her face.

At the mention of their sisters names Akagi and Kaga was shocked that she knew their sisters let a lone she was an American ship girl.

Sodak: Well i also did have friends from the French and British and I'm still kinda working on the two Germans since they're still kinda bitter that her country lost the previous war, for the French if i remembered correctly would be the French Battleships Lyon and Tourville for the British I've formed close friendship with two Battle cruisers and a Battleship, if i can recall their names the two Battle cruisers one is named Anson of the G3 class, and Incomparable and for the Battleship her name was Agincourt of the N3 class Battleships.

The others are just shocked at the sudden reveal of a place where ships that aren't built or completed dwell in away from everyone, and then Taihou spoke up.

Taihou: Wait wait so your saying there's a place where ships that aren't built could dwell in then how could you be here? The fact that you aren't even completed since most of the Kanmusu that returned are ships that are built and served their countries in the past.

Sodak: Well how did you guys comeback here since if i can recall if not everyone here is either sunk scrapped or have become targets during the post-war years, take Sara here she was used as a Target yet she returned now i'll ask again how did you all returned back?

Saratoga: Well we answered the call, its like answering the call to arms to fight the abyssals since they endanger both us ship girls and humanity in general.

Sodak: Then that's my answer to your question, i answered the call since im not just going to sit there doing nothing while you guys bleed and sweat off your backs while i just watch from a far and see my friends being hurt i could say the same as well to my friends back in that dimension they just need to answer the calls of their Commander or Admiral or their people and they'll gladly return to serve and protect anyone they care about.

Taihou: Very well, i'll accept your reasoning since its logical and sound and she then nodded

Sodak: While i do love to chat here with you guys i'll need to check up on the battleships as well so i'll see you all later at lunch at the mess hall, C'mon Mary, Arizona i would very much like to meet the rest of battleship row *Soon the three battle wagons left the carrier range*
