You sat at the smooth cafe table with my friend (f/n), She was kind and outgoing unlike you who was super quiet and nervous all the time. You both came here because You had an EXTREAMLY big crush on a boy who worked here. The cafe was called Anteiku. The smell of the cafe made you drool and the sound of glass cups clinking was very soothing for you.

You spotted him. You didn't know his name. He has short black hair and a white eyepatch covering one of his eyes. He was in his classic Anteiku uniform and he always looked so cute with his innocent grey eye. You wanted so badly to speak to him but You were always so nervous. You always hoped he would serve your table but the only contact You made with him was a blushed smile and he blushed and turned around.

'Am I really that hard to like?'

It made you sad. You saw him sitting at a table with a girl with dark purple hair. Her bangs were covering one eye.

"Is that his girl friend?" (F/n) whispered to you. Your heart sank. But then You got angry. You remembered how he always looks away when You looked at him. You watched them wondering what they were talking about.

Kaneki sat across touka. He was madly blushing. He was really nervous to tell touka. Would she laugh? Be angry? He didn't know.

"I-I really like a-a  girl.... And I don't k-know what to say to h-her...."  Toukas eyes widened. She looked straight faced but then she smiled a bit. "Who is she?" Touka looked curious her eyebrows raised. "I actually have never met her. I've only looked at her." touka then looked angry.  "your telling me you like a girl but you have never talked to her?! Your so pathetic you know." Kaneki  looked down at the cup in his hand a tear rolled down his cheek and landed with a drip in his coffee remembering what happened the first time he went on a date.

"Why are you crying? I'm sorry. I don't mean it." Touka looked annoyed.

Your (POV)

I looked over at them talking. "IS HE CRYING?!" I wanted to know so badly why he was crying. I wanted to hug him for whatever reason.

"It's just so hard to talk to people for me" he said looking down. Touka almost looked like she cared. "Just say hi to her for a start?" Kaneki looked up and shook his head. "How can I? I'm too weird and what if she hates me? Remember what happened on my first date? It didn't go well." Touka put her hand to her face. "Who is she?" Touka asked. "She's actually sitting over there at that booth. She is the one with the (h/c) hair." Touka looked at her. She was actually pretty cute. Touka got up from the table and walked towards the girls table.

"Oh the girl he was talking to is coming our way!!" You whispered to (f/n). "Mind if I have a seat here?" She said her blue eyes looks so innocent. "O-of course!" I pulled out a chair and she sat in it. "How are you?" I said wondering why she all of a sudden decided to sit here. "Well I have some news for you and don't take it the wrong way." Your heart dropped.

What could she mean. I don't know her. "That man over there likes you a lot." She said pointing at the boy with the eye patch. You suddenly got extremely hot and very sweaty. "W-what do you m-mean?" I said my voice shaking. "He had been staring at you everyday and he's afraid you won't like him. How about you grab a seat with him and talk." She said smiling at me. She them got up and Left the table and returned to her work. You hid your face in your hoodie.

He likes me? What?! He doesn't know me! This has to be some sort of mistake. (F/n) is way prettier than I am. Why didn't he choose to like her?! Your head was searching for answers. Your friend noticed your state and grabbed your shoulder. "Hey (f/n)... Go over there and talk to him. It would make you both happy." She said brushing your (h/c) hair out of your face.

'All I have to do I start a conversation.' You thought. You shakily stood up and walked towards the cute boy. It looked like his face was shoved in a book and he was trying not to look at you. You sat down across from him and blushed bright red.

"H-hi I'm (y/n)... I really wanted to talk to you for awhile now." You didn't know how to talk to him.

'Was that ok? He doesn't think I'm weird right?!'

He nodded quickly at you and put down his book. "I'm k-kaneki ken. It's very nice to meet you." He blushed his eyes looking away. He held out his hand and you shook it.

'What should I say! This is so awkward ughh!'

"What happened to your eye?" Was the first thing that came to your head. You mentally face palmed and wish you didn't bring that up.

"Oh I um I..." He started stuttering. 'Great. I'm making him feel uncomfortable now. Way to go.'

"Its ok you don't have to tell me!!" You managed to choke out. He relaxed a bit but still looked very nervous. "I didn't think id ever be able to talk with you (y/n)..." He said quietly. "Same here" you replied. You both chatted for what seemed like forever. You learned you had many of the same interests as he did.

"I uh got you a thing just in case we did meet."  He reached into a small bag and after shuffling his hands around he pulled out something. Your heart started beating really fast. This had to be a dream. You still couldn't believe he liked you. Your (e/c) eyes wide he handed you a small book. It read The Egg of the Black Goat. You gently took it from him still shocked. You loved to read mostly fanfics and manga but this was something you knew you were going to read if it was from him. He smiled. "That's my favorite book. I really hope you like it!" He started rambling about the book even giving some spoilers away." You just laughed at him. He was so adorable. You leaned in and kissed his red cheek. Both of you froze.

"Aye kaneki stop kissing your girlfriend and get to work" you saw the purple haired girl joke. 'Damn it.'You thought. Both of you looked like tomatoes. He scribbled a number on a piece of napkin and handed it to you. A phone number. You were flipping out inside. You gave yours to him and he folded it and placed it in his pocket. A moment later a boy with golden hair ran into the shop and pretty much dived into the both with you and Kaneki.

"Hello I'm hide!" He said quickly grabbing your hand and shaking it. 'Damn he was hyper'. "Oh hi I'm (y/n)" you said nervously. "Hide stop your scaring her!" Kaneki said sternly to him. "If anyone is scaring her it would be you kaneki with your creepy eyepatch" hide laughed. "Hide that's not funny!" Kaneki and him were arguing and you just watched and laughed. You took out the number kaneki wrote for you and texted him:

Hey it's (f/n) I'm going to head out but I would love to see you again! Why don't we go to a book signing together and grab some ice cream afterwards? That would be really fun!

After you texted him you left the table and waved at them. They didn't notice you left because of the arguing but once you walked out of the shop with (f/n) you peeked in the shop window to see kaneki looking at his phone reading the text. He didn't see you watching him but he punched the air in victory with the biggest smile on his face.
