The entire gang reaches Ramani Amma's place around 5pm.
After the initial pleasantries and congratulations to her and Subramanian for becoming grandparents, they all settled down in the living room as the cook starts preparing dinner.

RA: "Adei kuttigala, unga kuda velayaada inoru kutti papa seekrame varapogudhu theriyuma ungaluku?!"

Kriya: "Adhu ipo enga vara pogudhu paati? Asha perimma thoppaiku ulla vechu dhaana kootitu varuvaanga? Velila varumpodhu USA la dhaana irukum! Naanga epadi velayaada mudiyum" she voiced her genuine doubt with a pout.

Rakshan: "Hey loosu, idhulaam oru mattera.. andha kutti papa epo velila varudho Appa Amma va nalla paduthi eduthu oru US trip podutadalaam. Adhulaam naama paati kuda pesi plan pannalam. Enna paati engaluku help panuveenga dhaane?!! Sollunga Paatiiiiii"

And just then another voice interuppts him "Endha paati ya kekara Rakshan kuttttiiiiii".....
The kids immeadiately knew who that was and turned around and started running towards the voice! "Haiiiii Paaaaaatiiiiiiiiiiii".

It was Maragatham and Sankaran, Ramya's parents at the door!

R: "Ammma... nee enga inga?! Appa, vaanga!"

RA: "En ma Ramya, neenga elaarum inga vandhuteenga, ivanga rendu perum ena paavam pannanga thaniya okaandhu sevutha paarthu dinner saapda?! Naa dhaan vara sonen!! Samandhi nalla irkeengala? Anne vaanga vaanga!!"

Maragatham: "Apdi kelunga samandhi, inga vara poraanga nu Kishorum onum solala ivalum onum solala. Elame neenga soli dhaan naanga therinjuka vendi iruku!! Enamo, adhu irkatum. Modhalla kaiya kudunga! Paati aaiteenga polruke! Romba romba sandhosham" she shakes her hand after giving a packet of sugar and a sweet box to Subramanian.

Sankaran: "Enna sir, thatha ngra position ku naanum Srini sir um matum vandhutu unga company ku wait panindhom. Ipo neengalum enga club la join panna readya?!" he side hugs Subramanian as Srinivasan walks along.

All the three men find a corner and break into the usual 60+ talks about the country and its current state.

The ladies are all chatting in the living room with their usual conversation starters- admiring each others outfits, jewels and the current price of Gold.

Krishna and Kishore read the room, understand they dont belong to both the gangs, nod at each other and walk to the television stand and take out Aravindh's old playstation and start playing games as Kriya and Rakshan sit on their either sides and cheering them.

Maragatham starts sharing her grandma-wisdom as she had helped Ramya and Latha with their children and Ramani amma just keeps commenting about her misfortune of being on a wheel chair which limits her activities as a grandmom!

RA: "Manasu neraya aasaya kuduthutu indha kaala pudingi tholachutaan aandavan! Hmmm.. enna panradhu?!
Ennalayum normala nadakka mudinja ipove Atlanta ku kelambi poirupen kozhandhaingala paathuka! Ipdi manasu padhapadhakka inga okaandhu irukka maaten!"

M: "Enna samandhiyamma ipdilaam pesreenga! Adhaan Aravindh um Asha vum 5aam maasam Chennai varaanga la. Ipdi idha nenachu varuthapadama Valaikaapu ku aagavendiya kaariyatha paakalam vaanga! Oru kalakku kalakkiduvom!! Enna Ramya solra?!"

R: "Aama aama.. Enna Ramani amma neenga, unga manasula irukara aasaiku avanga inga varumpodhu ennalaam senju kudukanumo senjutaa pochu!! Cheer up.. Happy news kuduthutu neengale varutham aana epdi?!"

P: "Adhaane.. enna amma, podava kadai nagai kadai nu plan poduveengala, kaal aa pudingitaan nu feel panitu irkenga! Naanum Ramyavum neenga "um" nu sonna porum, shopping varadhuku readya irkom!"

RA (wiping her tears): "Seri seri, naa varutha padala. Enaku onnuku renda ponnunga neenga irkeenga, naa azhamaaten!!
Aama Priya, un paatu class ellam epdi pogudhu? Nee seekrame indha skype aa pipe aa.. adhula class nadatha erpaadu paniko. En pera pullai ku nee dhaan paatu solli tharanum. Ippove soliten!"

P: "Amma.. epidi ma.. ipodhaan azhudhutu irundheenga, adhukulla 9 maasam kazhichu poraka pora kozhandhaiku skype class book panitu irkeenga! Anniyana vida mosama personality maathitu irkeenga neenga!" and all the ladies laugh together.

After a while, Latha, Solomon and Thaman join them at the dinner table,as Ramani amma had invited them as well "Adhu epdi en chinna ponnu, maplaiya kupdaama viduven" she explains.

The kids all continue playing on the PS along with Kishore as the adults inaugrate the "Saapattu Kadai"- aptly named by Krishna!

The dishes on table had amazing varities, just like the topics of discussion that were going around! Politics to pregnancy, everything was being discussed and debated and then the topic comes back to Aravindh and Asha's trip to chennai 4 months from now.

Krishna: "Adhaan pesanum nenachundhen Aravindh kitta, adhe time la oru important meeting iruku Atlanta la. Australian clients vera visit panraanga. Ena plan vechurkaan nu therila."

RA: "En da Krishna, avan unkita solave ilaya?! Nee dhaan Atlanta poi elaathayum paathukanum! Idhula enna sandhegam unaku?"

Krishna did not expect that and Ramya just turns and stares at him equally shocked!
