Thunderstorms
Kanan's pov
"Why are you doing this Hera?" I ask in a very angry tone.
"You need to have a better friendship with Rex. It's important you two get along." Hera says.
"I'm not in the mood to make friends with the person who killed my master." I say holding back my tears.
"He didn't kill her Kanan. He actually had a choice to disobey. The clones were controlled. Can't you just put that all to the side?" She asks me.
"Yeah, of course I will put that to the side. Maybe I will also become best friends with Rex and we will defeat the Empire together." I say sarcastically.
She sighs. "I know it's hard for you. Going on a supply run with him will help. I know it."
"I don't want to go anywhere with him alone." I say.
"Then I'll send Ezra too."
"That's even worse. I don't want Ezra near Rex either." I say.
"He will be fine. You all are going on a supply run and that's an order." Hera says.
I sigh. When Hera gives an order, we have to do whatever she says. Even if we don't agree. I definitely don't agree with this one.
"Fine. Not like I have a choice anyways." I mumble.
"I'll tell Rex and Ezra to get ready." She says and walks away.
This should be awful. If Rex tries to do anything, I'll make sure he can't walk.
Time Skip.....
"What exactly do we need to get?" Ezra asks while we are walking around town.
"Just the basic survival supplies. We already have everything on the list, but I guess Captain Hera wants us to get more." I say almost getting mad.
"I think we should split up." Rex says.
"No, that's not a good idea." I say. "We stay together."
"Why are you always against me?" Rex asks.
"Probably because everything you say is not good ideas." I growl.
"Guys!" Ezra interrupts us. "Can't you two stop fighting and try to get the supplies we need?"
We both were silent for a second. I know Ezra hates when we fight, just as much as the rest of the crew. But he is the one who doesn't fully understand why we argue all the time.
"Lets just get the supplies together, and if needed, we will split up." Ezra says.
"Sounds like a plan." Rex agrees and we begin our search for the first thing on the list.
Time Skip......
It's been an hour and we only got half the list of supplies. I wish we could be done now, but Hera wouldn't want us back on her ship till we got everything.
Rex and I would get into an argument every few minutes. Ezra had to step in every time to talk some sense into us.
But what really got me angry was that some fights, Ezra would take Rex's side. I was so close to just storming away from them. Ezra is my padawan, he should be supporting me all the time. He shouldn't side with an old clone who I hate.
While the three of us are walking around town, it suddenly starts to drizzle. I look up and notice the grey clouded skies.
"Looks like it's going to start pouring hard." I say.
"Yeah, probably some thunderstorms too." Rex says.
I could see Ezra tense up at what Rex said. I would ask him about it, if I wasn't mad at him.
"Should we head back? We'll get the rest of the supplies another day." Rex says.
"No there's no need to. I'm sure it's nothing we should be worried about." I say.
"But what if it is? I say we go back. We got most of the supplies anyway." Rex says.
"Hera wants us to get all the supplies." I say starting to get mad again.
"I think she won't mind if we get them a day where it won't rain." Rex says raising his voice.
"What could rain do to you?!?! Will the water make you melt?!?!" I shout.
"Kanan." Ezra starts. "I'm sorry but I think we should listen to Rex. We wouldn't want to be stuck in a thunderstorm."
He's taking Rex's side again!!! I can't believe Ezra right now.
I suddenly lose it. "Really Ezra?!?! You're taking his side again?!?! I can't believe I have a padawan who isn't strong enough to take a little bit of rain!!!"
Ezra's eyes widen. "Kanan I-"
"No Ezra, I don't want to hear from you. If you wanna go back to the ghost with Rex, then be my guest. I'll just get the rest of the supplies. It would be nice to have a strong padawan instead of a weak one." I say cutting him off.
I then walk away from them, not even turning back.
Walking back to the ghost was quick but also very frustrating. It was already raining like loth cats so I got drenched.
I also kept thinking about Ezra not taking my side. Why shouldn't I be mad? He's the one who would rather be with a clone instead of his own master.
When I went inside the ghost and into the common room, I saw Hera, Zeb and Sabine sitting down, looking at their devices.
Well, except Zeb. He was just looking out the window.
When Hera noticed me, she got up. "How did it go? Where's Rex and Ezra?"
I gave her a confused look. "They're not here by now?"
"No. I didn't even get contacted by any of you." Hera says.
I didn't contact Hera because I wanted to be alone. I decided not to get any more supplies because I was too mad. So I just walked around the town for a half an hour to get some space. I thought Rex and Ezra would be here by now.
"I don't know where they are. After I left them, I thought they would come here." I say.
"What do you mean you left them?" Hera asks.
Oh no, shouldn't have said that. "I got mad and needed some space."
"You and Rex got into another fight, didn't you?" Sabine asks getting into the conversation.
"Yeah....but it-"
I was cut off by a blinding flash of lightning and a loud thunder noise after it.
"On the imperial news, it said it was going to be thunderstorms all night." Sabine states.
"Thunderstorms?" Zeb asks getting worried for some reason.
"Yep, wait what about Rex and Ezra?" Sabine asks.
"I'm sure they will be fine." I say.
All of a sudden, Rex comes in just as drenched as me. He looks at me surprisingly.
"Oh, Kanan you're here." He says.
"Where's the kid?" Zeb asks.
"He's not here?" Rex asks.
"You don't know where he is?" I ask him a little concerned.
"Hold up, I'm lost. Can someone tell me what happened?" Sabine asks.
"After Kanan left us, it started to rain and Ezra ran off. I thought he got upset and was coming back here." Rex says.
That's when another loud thunder noise made all of us silent.
"Wait, Ezra's out there alone? In the thunderstorm?" Zeb asks getting even more worried.
Why is he getting so worried?
"We need to find him. Who knows what could happen to him." Hera says.
I know I should want to find him. But I must still be mad at Ezra that I'm not being that worried about this.
"We should probably wait till morning. He will come back eventually." I say.
"Kanan are you serious?" Zeb asks while gritting his teeth.
"What? Ezra should be fine. A little thunderstorm shouldn't kill him." I say.
Zeb then unexpectedly punches my arm.
"Ow!! What was that for?!?" I shout.
"That was for you acting like a careless master to your padawan!!!! How could you not worry about Ezra when he is out there alone in a thunderstorm?!?!? He is probably terrified right now!!!!" Zeb growls.
We all stood there shocked at Zeb's sudden outburst. Why is he acting like this all of a sudden?
"Why would he be terrified?" Sabine asks finally breaking the silence.
"Because......I promised him I wouldn't tell you guys.......but I have to tell you. Ezra's deathly afraid of thunderstorms." Zeb says. "He would be up all night crying in our room and I will have to comfort him until it stopped."
I was shocked. Ezra's afraid of thunderstorms? Why didn't he tell me?
"Why didn't he go to me? I could've helped him." I say.
"He didn't want you to think he was weak." Zeb says sadly.
"It would be nice to have a strong padawan, instead of a weak one."
What I said before keeps repeating in my head.
Oh no, what have I done?
It all came to me. Ezra agreed with Rex so he could avoid the thunderstorm. That's why he was so tense. And I yelled at him, only thinking of myself.
"I.....I'm a terrible master." I say with a few tears streaming down my face.
Hera was about to put her hand on my shoulder, but I bolted to the door.
"Where are you going?" Hera asks me.
"I'm finding Ezra. No one else come, I need to fix all of this alone." I say and leave the common room.
Ezra hold on, I'm coming.
