New Ending
My version of the ending of Star Wars Rebels.....I do not own Star Wars Rebels
Ezra's Pov
I grunted in pain feeling my back throbbing after being shot. I look at Thrawn still tied up in the purgil's arms.
"You may have won this time, Bridger. But not for long. The Empire will take back Lothal and destroy everything you love." Thrawn growls.
"Are you done yet?" I ask recalling his earlier words to me. "Because I have to get back to my family."
"How? You did send us into hyperspace didn't you?" He asks.
"Yes, but I put a tracker on this ship. So they should be coming here soon." I say with a smirk.
"So? What are you going to do with me? Leave me to die tied up like this?" He asks.
"It's tempting, but no. Sabine is probably going to want to paint this star destroyer. So we will just give you to the purgil, I'm sure they could use a new guest." I say.
He starts struggling and grunting. I sigh and take my comm.
"Spector 6 to ghost." I say. "Surprise, I'm still alive."
"That's a good thing. Because now I can kill you." I hear Sabine say.
I chuckle. "Can't wait."
Time Skip
When the others boarded the star destroyer, I made my way to the ramp. Hera ran up to me and gave me a tight hug.
"Don't ever scare me like that again. I thought I lost you like Kanan." Hera says, tears in her eyes.
"I'm sorry. It had to be done." I say, hugging her back and trying not to wince from the pain in my back.
She releases me and notices my wound. She gasps. "Come on, let's get that patched up."
We go into the ghost where Hera already set course back to Lothal. I immediately get welcomed by everyone clapping.
"You did it kid." Zeb says patting my shoulder.
"We did it." I corrected.
Sabine runs up to me with a relieved expression on her face. She punches my arm.
"You made all of us worried about you." Sabine says.
I rub my shoulder. "Good to see you too."
She then unexpectedly kisses my cheek. My jaw hung open in surprise.
"There's my surprise." She says and sits down.
I smile feeling heat in my cheeks.
"Ezra my friend!!!" Hondo shouts from behind. He puts his arm around my shoulders. "I knew you would make it!!!"
"Don't I always make it?" I ask in a sarcastic tone.
"Guess that must be a Jedi thing." Rex says and puts a hand on top of my head. "That was brave, kid. You saved Lothal, Gregor would be proud of the accomplishment."
"I'm sorry about him. I wish there was something we could've done to save him." I say.
"There was nothing we could've done. He is in a better place now." He says.
"Guys look!!!" Sabine shouts. We all turn to the window in the cockpit.
Everyone was cheering and dancing celebrating the victory. I smile seeing peace finally put on Lothal.
"I can't believe this is really happening." I say amazed. Hera puts a hand on my shoulder.
"You have really made a difference from the past 4 years." Hera says.
"Not without you guys. We are family." I say. "And nothing is going to change that."
We all then gaze back at the now brighter, empire free Lothal. This has been an amazing journey. The Empire will come back, but we will be ready.
"I am very proud of you, Ezra."
I turn to see Kanan smiling at me.
"May the force be with you."
"Always." I say out loud. He then disappears and I turn my gaze back outside.
3 years later.........
I have been meditating for awhile now. It has been a lot easier to focus since there has been no ties or any imperial activity here.
"Ezra." I turn my head to see Sabine with two cans of paint in her hands. "Ready to paint some more?"
I nod. Sabine and I stayed on Lothal enjoying our lives Empire free. We got to know each other more than we did three years ago. We told each other every secret we could ever have kept to ourselves.
But there is something still I need to tell her.
Turns out, Hera was pregnant with Kanan's child before he died. She hid it well from us. She gave birth to a young boy named Jason Syndulla. He looked a lot like her. The last time Sabine and I saw her was four months ago. Hera has a lot more adventures ahead of her.
Zeb took Kallus to his home planet where the Lasat excepted Kallus as one of them. That was awhile ago, but I'm sure they are fine.
While walking with Sabine to the half painted Star destroyer, I saw the wolves a few yards away.
That means it is time to go.
"Sabine." I say stopping her in her tracks. "I just wanted to say, thanks for your help with everything. I know I could always count on you."
"You have been saying that a lot. What does it mean?" She asks.
"I have to go." I say. "The wolves need me for things I cannot share."
Her eyes widen. "What? No, you can't just disappear."
I put a hand on her shoulder. "It's for the best."
Sabine was shocked. But then an idea came up in her mind.
"I'll go with you."
I give her a disapproving look. She holds my hand.
"Come on, Ezra. Even though you are taller than me, you still need me." She says.
I look down. She is right. I never thought otherwise.
"Are you sure? You really want to spend your days with wolves?" I ask.
Sabine chuckles. She then pulls me into a kiss on the lips. When she pulls away, she says.
"I wouldn't have it any other way."
I smile and kiss her again. We stay like that for a few moments before we pull away.
"Ready?" I ask.
"Ready." She says.
We both then walk to the wolves holding hands. We get on top of separate wolves.
"Hold on!!!" I shout playfully.
The wolves start running with us on them. I look back at her smiling, excited on what the future will have for us. She smiles back enjoying the wind flowing through her cut hair.
Just when you think the journey is over, a new one begins before your eyes.
