Are, watch where your step may lead

Or you'll trip again.

But before the bruentte could fall to the ground, a strong arm reached out and grabbed hers.  "Are you all right?" a calm voice asked, helping her up.

"Yeah, thanks," Aster brushed her skirt, looking up as her onyx eyes suddenly met dark chocolate ones.  She focused out to see who it was and caught her breath.  It was the kendo committee president.  But, since she had been too introverted the past few days, Aster hadn't caught his name.

"You're...Aster, correct?" he nodded curtly.

"Y-Yeah..." Aster felt a blush rising to her cheeks.  Oh gosh, this is so embarrassing! was her first reaction.  "And, sorry, I didn't get your name..."

"Hey!  Shiro!" Ray waved to the spiky pink-haired guy.  "What are you doing here?  I thought you were going to practice your kendo!"

A small smile seemed to appear on Shiro's face.  "Hey, Ray.  I was going to drop off my lunch for my sister, but I haven't seen her yet," he nodded, walking off.

As soon as the newcomer left, Ray peeked over and glanced at his sister's face.  "Hello~?" he waved his hand in front of her blank face.  "Seems someone's smitten~"

"N-No, I'm not!" Aster argued.  "It was just that...that was embarrassing!  I could've crashed into someone!"

Ray just snickered to himself, walking forward.  "Let's go already, clutzy sis~" he couldn't help but tease, his raven hair bouncing with each step.

Aster mumbled under her breath groans and such.  However he did it, she'd never know.  They finally reached a slightly secluded area in the hall and sat down to eat.  "Where's Alyce?" Aster picked up her sandwich, thinking about her older sister.

"I heard she was going to go hang out with those popular people in the cafeteria," Ray made a serious[ly adorable] pouting face.  "Seems like she saw someone that she likes there."

Aster rolled her eyes.  "How typical," she shrugged.  "Oh well..."  Of the three siblings, Alyce Rose Pink was definitely the most charismatic and talkative one.  So it was no surprise that she wasn't hanging out with her siblings.

"Well," Ray piped up, "I think I like this better~  I get to hog all of you to myself~" his jealously protective brotherly side appearing.

Aster couldn't help but give him a noogie.  "Do you have tennis practice after school gets out?"

"Yeah," the raven-haired boy nodded.  "Are you going to walk home first?"

"I was thinking about it, since Alyce could take you home after she's done with her cheerleading practice," Aster caught the sudden disappointment in his face.  "But I guess I could stay until you're done-"

"ALRIGHT!" the younger boy glomped the brunette happily, almost knocking both of their lunches to the floor.

"Why are you two sitting in the hall?  Don't you know that it's against the rules to eat in the hall?  You're supposed to be in a supervised area in order to have lunch," a sudden voice caught their attention, which made the tangled duo slowly look up and come face to face with a [slightly short] female student, her orange hair falling clean below her knees, her golden orange eyes piercing through the siblings.  She had a black trenchcoat on and- was that a katana at her waist?!

"A-ah!  Miss Akira-san!" Aster and Ray slightly cringed.  Of all places to be caught by the discipline committee...and the president, too?!  "Sorry, we didn't know."

The redhead huffed a bit, planting a hand on her hip.  Thank God she didn't draw her katana with her at the moment.  "I'll let you two off this once since you're new, but next time, please stay within supervision," she swiftly turned and walked away as quickly as she had come.

"That was close," Ray let out a shaky laugh.  "Let's move to the courtyard then, sis?"

Aster just nodded mutely, picking up her lunchpail.  "Let's," was her agreement.  "Eh?"  She noticed a gray arm band laying on the floor.  Was that there before...?  Then, she remembered with a slight gulp.  It was Miss Akira-san's.

---

"It is nice outside, though, you have to admit," Aster started to cheer up a bit.  "I mean, the weather's nice and all."  Perfect for inspiration to write... she grinned inwardly.

"Yosh!" Ray plopped down on a bench nearby under some shade and pulled out his DS, starting to play his Pokemon game.

Aster took a seat by him and pulled out her phone.  Scrolling through some messages, she received a notification.  New comment on your cell novel, it read.  "Uhhmm..." she hummed, opening the notification.

"Hello, Tenshi-sama!  I was so excited when the new chapter came out!  Aoko-chan is DEFINITELY in love with Yamamoto!  I can just tell!  I can't wait for you to update!"  -Jewelspark

Aster smiled and texted back a quick reply.

"Jewelspark, I'm glad you enjoyed my novel.  I'll be updating soon, so don't forget to check it out!"  -Tenshi

"Hey, is that your blog thing, Aster?" Ray peeked over her shoulder.

"It's called a cell phone novel," Aster made a face.  She had always been a good writer, but it was DiDi's idea to start cell phone novels as an easy way to gain popularity behind the scenes.  Now, Tenshi was a top-notch writer who had gained her popularity both in Japan and California.  "What are you doing, Ray?"

"Training my Dragonite, like a boss~" he grinned, waving his DS in front of Aster's face.
