Velvet found Haruto wounded in a lake and for 3 weeks she nursed him back to health.

In Scarlet Night, Velvet's brother-in-law Arthur killed her little brother Laphicet as a sacrifice. Velvet then becomes a Daemon that feasts on Daemon.

While Haruto was unknowingly sent to an island.

Back to the Story

Haruto spent a week wandering around the volcano island as he walks to the mountain, he finds an arena with dragons.

While the dragons were asleep, Haruto sneaks into the arena to see a sword of obsidian plunged into the rock.

As he quietly approaches the sword, a tail moved. He looks behind himself to see the dragon waking up.

As one dragon wakes up, all the others wake up along with her.

The dragons weren't aggressive toward Haruto as other humans. Mainly because Haruto is part dragon.

The queen dragon approaches and touches Haruto's chest and forehead with two talons on the left claw.

The queen of dragons sees his memories and feels his emotions. Seeing that he was the champion of fire and dragons. The dragon chanted his name.

He thought he was blessed with the dragons chanting to him, but he felt a sense of burden in his heart. Because, instead of fulfilling his duty, he ran away.

He went down to his knees a begged the dragon queen for her forgiveness for running away. But the dragons bow to him instead. Haruto looks up to the dragon confused.

Dragon Queen: We forgave you for running away. After all, you were destined to run. So you could live to fight another day.

Haruto: But, so many members of Sword of Logos. Dead. My brother, my sister, my mentor. All gone.

Haruto looks up to the dragon queen. He went down to the ground on his knees and bowed to the queen.

Haruto: I beg you. Please train me. Help me save Velvet.

(Scene Change)

Haruto started training with the dragons to expand his combat skills.

The dragons swing their tails at him, he jumps to dodge the attack, but instead, he got caught by the scale and fell onto the ground.

Every day he trains with the dragons and fails to improve.

Unknown to him, Ikkie watches him over the crater.

[3 years later]

Haruto had successfully improved his combat skills at full highs.

He successfully jumped over an incoming dragon tail, ducked from a fire breath, and avoid a bite attack with ease.

Dragon Queen: You are ready now.

She gestures her claw to the sword.

Dragon Queen: Take it. Pull the sword out of the stone and become our champion again.

Haruto approaches the sword and grabs its handle as flashes of his past come. As he tries to pull the sword out even if he was afraid to.

He tries with all his might but was unable to pull it out.

Haruto: How come?

Dragon Queen: You have something that is blocking your heart that prevents you from lifting the sword. The girl you love...

Haruto: She is captured... By the one person who she sees as family.

A tear was then shed from his left eye.

Haruto: I wish to save her.

He looks up to the queen.

Haruto: I must save her before I can claim the sword.

Dragon Queen: Then go. Save the one you love.

Haruto then ran up the crater to see a storm approaching the island. He then brings out his compass and flashes of Laphicet come as he saw his compass.

Haruto uses his compass to open a portal. He walks through the portal and appears in a small town.

As Haruto left, the dragons start to converse with each other.

Dragon #5: I still wonder why he couldn't pull the sword out.

Dragon  #3: It is the turmoil in his heart.

Dragon  #4: So we had to train him and convince him to pull the sword out for nothing?

Dragon  #2: No, not for nothing.

Dragon Queen: We learned that he would do anything to save the one he loves. Even if she is a daemon.

Dragon: #1: Our queen is right. Our champion will return.

The crater then transforms into a sky-open vault. And that the sword was plunged in an anvil, not a stone.

With Haruto

He then saw...

Seres!

She was walking to the docks as he follows her in the shadows, and unknown to him, Ikkie was following him through the water.

(A/N: Ikkie is a water elf. Very few elves have the ability to know a spell that allows them to turn them into water temporarily.)

???: You know, Haruto. If you were going to follow me, you should try a little harder.

He saw that she found him.

Haruto: So you found me. That's something I expect from Artorius's Malak-

Sere: I am no longer his Malak.

His eyes widened, seeing something unbelievable. A Malak having a will of their own?

Seres: What are you doing?

Haruto: I going to find Velvet.

Seres: I understand. There's a ship is heading for the Prison Island, Titania, that's where she is.

Haruto suddenly froze

Seres: I'm going to free her; do you want to come?

Haruto: I'm in.

Seres: But you're going to need a disguise.

Timeskip

Haruto and Seres boarded the ship and headed to Titania. It was a long journey. He was traumatized by what Artorius has done, and how he could betray them. Haruto only wished that he could have become Saber once again.

They had finally made it to Titania. It wasn't heavily protected because of the number of seals and barriers they had placed to prevent anyone or anything from escaping, but that didn't mean there are more Exorcists around. Haruto beats up a guard and then dresses up in his armor. Seres hid the guard in the closet.

They then venture further in and found a door to an underground cell.

Haruto: Is this it?

Seres: Yes, I'll release the seal.

Seres uses her art to unbind the seals on the cell gate, and the ladder is lowered.

Haruto looked down and all he could remember was when he failed to grab Velvet's hand.

Seres: Something wrong?

Haruto remains silent until he finally speaks.

Haruto: It's just... I failed to save her from falling into that hole back at the shrine. Now here I am... going down a hole to save her.

Seres knew how much Haruto cared for Velvet.

Seres: You go first.

Haruto: Huh?

Seres: You love her right?

Haruto: Yes. I do. I'll go, you follow.

Haruto went down the ladder. As he goes down, he noticed it was getting darker as he went down.

Haruto finally made it to the bottom.

It was so dark he could hardly see what was in front of him. Then, Haruto looks to his left and he sees a wolf-daemon charging straight at him. He readied himself, then all of sudden, a daemon arm grabbed the daemon. Haruto knew who it was, just by looking at the arm devouring the daemon.

Three years and he still remembers that day. It was her...

Velvet!

She came closer to the light, at the point Haruto could see her. Her clothes were torn and she had a gaze of anger in her eyes. But her hair hasn't changed at all.

Velvet's eyes then changed as she see Haruto.

Her eyes started watering with tears, with the joy of seeing Haruto again.

Velvet: Haruto?

Haruto brings out his hand to her. Velvet gently touches it and feels the gentle warmth of his hand.

Haruto: It's me.

Velvet: I know your gentle voice anywhere, Haruto.

She then hugs him while crying into his chest.

Haruto tries to be careful of where he puts his hands because a lot of her clothes were torn or ripped away. But he still held her close to comfort her.

Haruto: Your hair is still so beautiful, Velvet.

As they broke from their hug, she puts her hand on his face.

Velvet: You still feel so...

But as she was about to place her left hand on Haruto's face, she was nervous that she could hurt him with it.

Haruto grabs the bandaged hand and holds it in her palm. And just like last time, the Arm didn't appear.

Velvet was puzzled.

Velvet: But how?

Haruto: I don't know, but it went away like last time. But it proves that you are still yourself.

Velvet then blushed.

Velvet: Why are you here?

Haruto: I came to get you out of here.

Then Seres came down and Velvet's attitude changed completely. She changed at Seres and pinned her to the wall. But Seres used her art to break free.

Velvet: WHERE IS HE?!

Haruto: Velvet, wait! Seres helped me-

Seres: Stand back, Haruto. First, there will be a test!

Seres and Velvet fought each other, but the way it progressed, Seres was holding back.

Velvet: You're holding back?

Seres: You noticed, well done. You pass.

Velvet: Of course. His Malak would never be so weak as that.

Seres: I am his Malak no longer.

Haruto: Come on! Let's get you out of here. They're bound to know we broke the seals to get you out.

As they head to the ladder Velvet fell to her knees. Haruto then rushed to Velvet and insisted that she gets carried by him. She hesitated for a bit, but Haruto felt her arms wrapped around his neck gently. They followed Seres up.

They slowly climbed up the ladder. Velvet wondered how much of Haruto has changed in 2 years.

Velvet: Haruto?

Haruto: Hmm?

Velvet: Where have you been for the past three years?

Haruto: I have been training on an island... Filled with dragons.

Velvet: Dragons?

Haruto: Yes. They have been training for endurance, strength, instinct, and swordsmanship.

Haruto might have changed a bit. But to her, he was still as caring and noble as when they first met. Haruto would do anything for Velvet.

After they made it out of the hole, they then made it to a storage room, where they kept prisoners' belongings.

Seres: This is it.

Haruto: Okay.

He then faces Velvet.

Haruto: I'll keep watch. Grab what you need.

Velvet nods her head and went in. She stops and turns to Haruto.

Velvet: You're not coming in, Haruto?

Haruto: Well... Someone needs to stay guard while you change.

Velvet smiles to see that she was right and Haruto hasn't changed a bit.

It took a while, but Velvet and Seres came out and Velvet was wearing something less ripped compared to before.

Haruto blushes at the sight of her.

Velvet then noticed that Haruto was staring at her.

Velvet: Haruto? Why are staring at me?

Haruto: Ore? Staring? No I-I just thought... that it looks interesting on you, that's all.

Velvet blushes from that comment.

Velvet: Th-This was all they had that would fit. Does it bother you?

Haruto: No. Not at all. You look really beautiful in it.

???: Who goes there?!

Before the Exorcist came, Seres casts a fireball and blasts the Exorcist.

Seres: Let's go, we have to continue moving forward.

The three of them continued finding a way out while trying to avoid any guards. Along the way, Seres told Velvet what's been going on around the world. It didn't matter to her, all she wanted to know is where Artorius was and what it was gonna take to get to him.

Seres: Wait!

They stopped.

Seres: Guards coming, two of them.

Velvet: This way!

They then hid behind the entrance waiting for them to pass.

Exorcist (1): Hey, did you hear? The path around is off-limits now. They say the grounds are weak and that they could collapse.

Exorcist (2): The path goes under the watchtower you said, right?

Exorcist (1): True, but it was a nice shortcut to the dock.

Inner Haruto: A shortcut to the docks?

Inner Velvet: Under the watchtower...

All of sudden, another exorcist came to the other two.

Exorcist (3): A lot of guards are missing. Apparently, we have some intruders on the island.

They then ran off.

Haruto: Looks like they're catching on to us. We need to think of something if we're gonna get out of here.

Velvet: Where are the cells?

Seres: They should be on this floor. Do you plan on involving the other prisoners?

Velvet: I'll use anything to my advantage. What do you think?

Haruto: If we free them, then that will definitely cause a distraction for us to escape. I'm in.

They head in the direction of the other cells. Once they arrived and Velvet told them that they were getting off the island. They did it to encourage the prisoners in order to distract them. Once they got out of the way, they then made their way to the watchtower.

While getting there-

???: Dear me not a word of apology?

They looked around, but they didn't see anyone.

Then Velvet swung her blade out behind her. Haruto looked back and was ready to protect her.

???: Hmph. What is wrong with you people? There I was, taking a nap like a sweet little babe, when suddenly... From paradise down to hell! No worse! A grimy prison cell! You see why I'm not feeling well?

The three just looked confused for a moment by what this weirdo was saying.

Seres: And you are?

???: HOORAY, you asked! I'm thrilled to introduce to you the wise witch who travels the sea's scoffs at the might of even the fiercest dragon. I am nonother than illustrious Mazhigigika Miludin does Din Nolurun Dou! Or magilou for short. (With a smile)

Velvet: Maggie-lou?

Magilou: NO! "Mah", like "soggy shoe" or like "doggie doo" or "call me any of those and I'll turn into froggy stew!"

Haruto: I would advise against doing anything to her if I were you, little miss witch. (Draws out his Sword)

Magilou: Sigh... I suppose you'll never understand, hmph! People can be so tragically unlearned... But hey, like I care!

She then walks away. Haruto then put his sword away and they continue going up.

Velvet: I can't believe she snuck up on me! Who is she?

Seres: This is no ordinary prison, we must be on our guard. Trust no one. She said she's a witch.

Velvet: Did she have a Malak tethered?

Seres: No, I didn't sense any Malakim around her. She's human... I think.

Velvet: Then she is just a magician, not a witch. If she sneaks up again, I'll crush her and be done with it.

They continue to escape until they heard fighting. Haruto took point to see who it was. He readies his sword as they got closer to the sounds of death. As they arrived at the scene, Exorcists and demons both lay down dead. There was only one person standing. The way he was dressed in a Japanese samurai from feudal Japan.

???: Hugh, more?

He turns to face them. Haruto looked at his face. He did not look like a normal human.

Seres: This one... HE'S A DAEMON!!!

Haruto: Get ready!

He charges Haruto with twin blades. Haruto ducks and tries to slash, but he blocks and shrugs it off. Haruto kept trying to cut him, but he matched his blow for blow with just two small blades.

Haruto: Get away!

???: Hmph, not bad, kid! However-

As he comes at Haruto, he blocks, then tries to shrug it off and launch a counterattack. He dodges again by sidestepping. This time Haruto couldn't react in time, he was going to slice his head off.

But then Velvet comes from behind Haruto and blocks his attack with her sword. All three of them keep their distance after that.

Velvet: You alright?

Haruto: Yes. But he's strong!

???: Chips on the blades already? Brittle, these ridiculous Exorcist knives. I've gotta get back "Stormhowl".

Velvet: Wait? That sword we found?

Te Daemon Samurai's attitude changed quickly as soon as Velvet mentioned the sword.

He quickly came up to her, lowering his guard.

???: YOU FOUND IT? WHERE?! DO YOU HAVE IT?! PLEASE TELL ME!

Haruto: In the storage room, down below.

???: Down below? You two have my thanks! But, boy! This isn't over, we'll have our rematch soon!

He then runs off in the direction they came.

Haruto: Ugh... What just happened?

Seres: It seems you made quite the rival, Haruto.

Velvet: He's an odd demon. In any case, what were you thinking Haruto?!

She tilts her head down and shed a small tear.

Velvet: If I had been any slower you would have been...

Haruto then pats and rubs Velvet's head, making her blush.

Haruto: But you saved me, didn't you? When we first met, you found me dying and saved me.

Velvet: I know. In any case, if it's quiet, then will miss our window, hurry!

They continue going through the upper floors, there were both daemons and exorcists they had to face. Luckily, they did not pose so much of a threat to us.

Haruto went first and the other two follow him to the top of the tower as they go outside and noticed what the guards said was right.

Haruto: Whoa!

Seres: The path has collapsed, the rope won't be enough.

Haruto sighs.

Haruto: There has to be some way we can get there.

Velvet suddenly unleashed her daemon arm and went to the ledge.

Haruto: Velvet?

She then jumped, heading for the cliff. Haruto watches and becomes traumatized from remembering Velvet falling.

Haruto then grows out scales, his eyes turn yellow, and his wings open out.

Sere: Haruto? What...? Wait, what are you-

Haruto: I'm not letting her fall again.

He then jumps off after Velvet.

Velvet uses her daemon arm to grip on the cliffside to slow down. Haruto flew closer to Velvet as her daemon arm went away and lost her grip.

Luckily, Haruto caught her and pulled her closer to him. Haruto took the fall impact, damaging his wings while Velvet remains unhurt.

Seres: I see you both are committed to this.

Velvet gets off of Haruto with a worried expression on her face.

Velvet: Haruto! Are you okay?

Haruto: Yeah... Ow... It's my wings, nothing more.

Velvet got shocked by seeing Haruto's dragon scales, yellow eyes, and wings with blood covering all over.

Velvet: Your... part dragon?

Haruto nodded.

Velvet: Why... Why would you injure yourself for me?

She said with tears covering her eyes and with an upset expression.

Haruto: I was trying to make up for not being there for you when you needed me the most. I have already lost one family... I cannot lose another.

She blushes from Haruto's pickup line.

Velvet: You haven't changed a bit.

Seres appears and uses her healing art on Haruto's wing.

Seres: You two are stronger than I thought, especially together. I would almost assume that you two are destined for each other or you two made an oath to each other. 

Haruto: An oath?

Seres: It's not something to be spoken of lightly. It's a ritual that grants special abilities to oath-takers to abide by certain restrictions. The harsher it is, the greater the power one commands. In sense, an Oath is like-

Velvet: A curse, right?

Haruto: He was the one who tore us apart, I should have been there for her...! When she needed someone. After Laphi... her brother was killed.

Seres: I am aware. That is why I chose you two.

The three of them continue their way done the cliff to the docks. They had to get through one more section of the prison. Until they have another surprise on their way.

Haruto: We should be home free after this!

???: That's enough!

An Exorcist with two Malakine were guarding the door.

Seres: Ocsar...? I had no idea an Exorcist Praetor had been assigned to this island.

Oscar: You surprise me, Seres. Aiding criminals now ar you? Did Lord Artiorius request this?

Seres: No, I'm acting on my own.

Oscar: A malak with free will? 

He then looks toward Velvet.

And yet... I sense someone's strings guiding you.

He then looks toward Haruto.

Oscar: And you Haruto, Artorius expected that you would come out of hiding and try to save Velvet. I truly am surprised to see you with scales on your face.

Velvet readies herself and Haruto prepares to draw his sword.

Seres: Hold on you two. He's stronger than a normal Exorcist.

Velvet: We're out of options. And besides if we can't overpower him, then our end goal was hopeless to begin with. 

She then turns to Haruto.

Velvet: You got my back, Haruto?

Haruto: Yes. I'm always with you.

Oscar: Your a daemon, but your still a women. Therefore I will show you due respect-

Velvet throws a brick right by him, cutting him off.

Oscar: Clearly you want to use force, very well, "Graceless Daemon".

Haruto draws his sword out and points it at Oscar.

Haruto: I won't let you lay a finger on her!

Velvet then smiles at Haruto and unleashes her sword. 

They then charged at each other. Oscar and Haruto were equally matched. Haruto's eyes glow brighter with a red fiery flare. He then shoots fire out of his mouth, pushing Oscar back.

Oscar commands his Malak to unleash an Arte to split them apart. Haruto's left-hand turns into a claw and slashes the Arte coming at him. While the other one steers toward Velvet. She then gets out of the way, but the Malak gets hit by the Arte and reacted weirdly.

Seres: What are you doing?!

Oscar then comes up to Haruto with his guard half down. both their swords cross each other.

Oscar: Control your feelings to control the tide of battle

Haruto: More excuse for a reason?

As Haruto continues to clash with Oscar. The Malak had a dark aura around itself and transforms into... What looks like...

A dragon.

Haruto: The Malak...

Velvet: With daemonblight?

Oscar: Damm it! It's lost control.

???: Quite the opposite, dear Exorcist.

Everyone flinched as they heard a mysterious voice.

???: Your Malak is now under my control because it freed itself after you made it attack itself. 

The mysterious man then revealed himself to be...

Storious!

Oscar: Who are?!

He points his sword at him.

Storious: How rude. And to think at Exorcist are supposed to be high of society. But if you must... My name is Storious. The Megiddo of Stories. And your doom.

He then snaps his finger and the dragon knocks the Exorcist back and lungs for Velvet. Haruto stands in front of her to protect her, but Seres steps right before them and takes the blow from the dragon's claw.

Velvet: SERES!

Storious: Oh. Didn't see that coming.

Velvet goes up to her to help, to see that she was covered in blood. 

Seres: My wounds are fatal. 

Haruto stares at Seres, traumatized by the blood covering Seres. Haruto then faces Storious.

Seres: Please Velvet, devour me.

Velvet: I'm not about to-

Seres: There's not much time. My form is bound by an oath... Whose price... Is my life. The time has come to pay... Feeding on my form will grant you strength. The strength to move forward with your beloved Haruto. 

Velvet was shocked to hear Seres expose her deep secret.

Velvet: How did you know?

Seres: I have always known. A flame burns in a heart, too. A flame I cannot quench, no matter how hard I try. Just like you, Velvet.

She then gives her the comb Laphi gave her three years ago. Velvet was shocked to see it again.

With Haruto

Storious: You can't protect that daemon forever, Half-ling.

Haruto: What do you want with Velvet?!

Storious: Her ability to feed on daemons. That's why. When daemons first came to this world, there were times when I come face to face with a daemon that can devour its own kind. With a daemon like that, I could finally make my goal come true.

Haruto: You came all this way to use Velvet as a tool.

Storious: Yes. And that was the reason why your world had that civil war I caused.

Haruto was shocked to hear what Storious said.

Haruto: What are you talking about? The civil war that caused me and my sibling to hide was because all leaders of different tribes were against having the dragons continue to be the leaders.

Storious: My ability to make people go to war is another way by planting the seeds of anger. I told rumors to each tribe to make them believe the dragon tribe will plan to take over the Fire Realm.

Haruto then fell into despair after hearing the truth.

With Velvet

Velvet: This was...

Seres: That is why I cannot abide it... The frozen world... These frozen people... Velvet, hurry! Before my life fades! Do it now!

Velvet looks away and summons her daemon arm. She then placed it over Seres.

Velvet: I offer no apology of thanks.

Seres: I need neither. Our wishes...

The mask over Seres face began to crack.

Seres: Are one... And the same. I treasured those days. When you two and I... and Arthur were... together.

Velvet then begins crying.

Velvet: RRRRAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!

With Haruto

Storious: After the civil war nearly wipe all the half-dragons to extinction.

[Flashback]

In the Fire Realm, humanoid dragons, civilians or soldiers were being chased by kitsune, phoenix, and oni humanoids.

Haruto, Ryoto and Eri hid in a cave. They were waiting for their parents. They then see a shadowy figure.

Haruto and Ryoto cover Eri, as the smoke clears out. 

Storious: "Saber came and rescued you and your family." 

Kamen Rider Saber appears without his rider form. He reaches his hand at them. Haruto was the first to take it.

Storious: "He trained you and your brother, for one of you, to become his successor."

Haruto and Ryoto train with Saber. so that one of them could become Kamen Rider Saber

[End of Flashback]

Storious: But your brother, Ryoto got jealous at you were chosen to become Saber, instead of him.

Haruto then realized everything.

Haruto: It was you.

Storious: I tempted your brother to unseal the sword of darkness. So he could start that coup at the academy.

Haruto: AHHHHHH!!!

(Scene Change)

Haruto's roar ripples across the oceans and lands and to the dragon's island. The obsidian sword then cracked, and the dragons hear the cracks. The ground where the sword is plunged in starts to crack as well. The sword then released itself out of the stone and flies into the sky.

With Velvet

Velvet consumed Seres and her body turns into a bright flame that began to flow through her arm. The fame then took the shape of a ring.

As the dragon gets up, Velvet chose to stand her ground against the monster with Haruto.

Velvet: Move! If you don't, we'll destroy you!

Storious: Kill him! But leave the girl!

The dragon charged at them. Before the dragon could slash them, the obsidian sword plunged into the floor in between them.

Velvet: What is that?

Storious: Kaenken Rekka.

As Haruto sees the sword he hesitates to grab the handle.

[Flashback]

Dragon Queen: Pull the sword out of the stone and become our champion again.

(Scene Change)

Previous Saber: Haruto, the sword chose you for a reason.

(Scene Change)

Eri: Haruto-nii, please find Ryoto-chan and save him.

[End of Flashback]

Without hesitation, Haruto grabs the sword by the handle and was sent to the void.

[???: It has been a while, Haruto.]

Brave Dragon appears in front of Haruto.

[Brave: The time has come.]

Haruto: I don't think I could, Brave. I ran away from my duties of becoming Saber. My own brother go jealous of me for becoming Saber and Storious tempted him to become Calibur. If I couldn't save my brother from the danger of jealousy, what good could I do in becoming Saber? I will never be great as my master.

Brave then placed his claw on Haruto's shoulder

[Brave: Haruto... You ran away because you were supposed to run.]

Haruto was shocked to hear what Brave said.

[Brave: You were always meant to run away. You were given a second chance when there was peace once again. Now, you must do everything you can to bring peace between daemons and humans.]

Haruto: Of course... Brave.

In the Real World

Haruto opens his eyes.

Haruto: With the Strength of Fire. For the Glory of Merlin. Kaenken Rekka is mine to command!

Haruto then finally pulls the sword out slashing the dragon's head off along the way. The sword then absorbs all the dragon's energy and transforms into its original form.

Kaenken Rekka~!

As the dragon's head drops to the ground, the body crashes to the ground.

As Haruto gets surrounded by a fiery aura which made him transform into...

Kamen Rider Saber!

Oscar fires another Arte at them, but Saber slashed it before it made contact with them.

Oscar: Whatever my orders were, I can't allow you two to leave this island! I can't let a nasty daemon and whatever you are, run loose on the world.

Velvet: Velvet!... That's my name.  You can give Artorious our regards. My name is Velvet Crowe. And I will devour Daemons, Malak, and Exorcist alike. And if anyone ever takes, or even harms Haruto... I WILL DEVOUR YOU ALL!!!!! I am a monster. I am a THERION!

She then cast a fireball at Oscar. He screams in pain from the burns. 

Saber: And I... Am Saber... Remember that!

The Malak transports them away. Saber knew what happened and even still, he was by her side.
