Nakagosho, Nagano City: San Marco Church

     One evening, an Unidentified Lifeform appeared on the roof of the church and was watching a woman who had just parked her car in the parking lot.

As soon as she got off the car, the woman suddenly received a phone call from her friend and began to answer and talk happily without even knowing it was her last conversation with her friend on the phone.

?1: That one is next.

After saying that, the monster flew to attack and killed the woman on the spot.

Southern Nagano City

It was morning, Sakurako appeared in a cafe and was watching the news that happened recently.

Sakurako: Unexploded ordnance and bear sightings? What's that all about?

Opposite her in the restaurant was Yusuke, who was sleeping and soon woke up soon after.

Yusuke: *yawn* Wow, that's bright!

Sakurako: No kidding. You've been asleep for 11 hours.

Yusuke: *smiles* Sorry. I feel like I've never been so worn out in my life. Well, it's Friday, isn't it?

Sakurako: Exactly! You don't need to go to school today, I asked your teacher's permission to let you take the day off because you're sick. Honestly, I don't like to lie at all, but seeing you exhausted after yesterday's incident, I have to do it.

Yusuke: Well, I'm so sorry! It's so embarrassing! Heh heh... *laughs nervously*

Sakurako: *sigh*

Yusuke's stomach started growling causing him to order food to eat.

Yusuke: Excuse me, can I get a menu, please?

Sakurako: Well, I wasn't able to sleep. Not after seeing that video. And then the attack by that... Thing. Not to mention when you ended up changing like that. Are you seriously okay? After what happened?

Yusuke: Well, I think I'm fine? I mean, I survived, right?

Sakurako: Could you take this seriously? I was really worried you might end up a totally different person or something!

Yusuke: It feels kind of like I can change into that and fight if I need to. And when I don't need to fight anymore, I change back. Is that intuitive or what *smiles*?

As soon as he finished speaking, the staff in the restaurant immediately gave the menu to the two of them and continued to work.

Sakurako: Let's get back to Kuoh Town soon. You're done with fighting now, right?

Yusuke: Yeah, hopefully I can get back to being a normal adventurer soon. I don't think I could get used to how it felt.

Sakurako: How what felt?

That feeling of Yusuke gave him an unpleasantness that made it a bit difficult for him to speak.

Nagano Prefecture Police HQ

Tsurumaru talked to Kaoru about the recent strange incidents while the two were on their way to the squad car.

Tsurumaru: Wait up! We've gotten weird reports from everywhere since the trouble at the ruins! Children suddenly vanishing, blood drained from livestock... Strange cries in the night! Why do you think the top brass refuse to talk about it?

As the two entered, Kaoru started the car and drove away.

Kaoru: We were unable to identify the bodies of Unidentified Lifeforms 1 or 2. They probably think making any kind of comment while so much is still unknown could cause a panic.

Tsurumaru: Still, though...

Kaoru: We should be getting additional support to make up for that. When the TRCS 2000 is ready, there's a good chance we'll get hands-on priority before Tokyo Metro PD.

Tsurumaru: Wow, that's really something!

On the driveway, Kaoru accidentally saw Yusuke and Sakurako eating at a cafe and stopped the car, surprising Tsurumaru. After that, Kaoru got out of the car and walked over to them and motioned for Yusuke to come out from the other side of the bar's glass window. Yusuke also gestured back to Kaoru to wait for him to finish his breakfast. After eating, Yusuke went out to meet Kaoru and the two started talking.

Kaoru: If I'm mistaken, forget I said anything, but... Last night, were you...

Yusuke: Yeah, I fought that spider-looking guy.

Kaoru: *surprised* Then you really are Unidentified Lifeform 2.

Yusuke: That's what they're calling me? That kind of a mouthful...

Kaoru: How did it happen?

Yusuke: Well, it kinda just worked out that way. I saw some kind of vision at the ruins, tried putting on the belt like it showed me.

Yusuke then pointed at his stomach for Kaoru to see and continued.

Yusuke: And it went "shloop" right inside me, like you wouldn't believe. Or maybe like "whoosh"... Or maybe "zoom" is more like it. What do you think sounds right *smiles*?

Kaoru: *angry* Why would you do something so reckless?

Yusuke: ... It felt like I had to. Like I had to fight that spider thing.

Kaoru: *confused* You had to?

Yusuke: And when I actually did, it felt right. Like my body had changed so that I could fight it.

Kaoru: *worried* This doesn't strike you as odd? You could've ended up turning into a monster, too.

Yusuke: Nah, I knew I wouldn't, somehow. Granted, it was just a feeling.

Kaoru: *angry* You must be stupid. How can you be so confident based on that?

Yusuke: Actually, officer, I was curious about what happened to that spider guy.

Kaoru: This doesn't involve you anymore.

Yusuke: So it's alive?

Kaoru: I told you, it's none of your business! For now, you're coming to the station with me. You need to be examined.

After Kaoru said that, he quickly pulled Yusuke with him.

Yusuke: *surprised* No way! I haven't bathed yet today.

Kaoru: What?

Tsurumaru: *interrupts* Ichijo-san, we need to get going or Ebisawa-san is gonna be pissed.

Hearing that, Kaoru had to let go of Yusuke's hand and took out a small piece of paper and a pen to write something down and gave it to Yusuke.

Kaoru: You head back to Kuoh Town, and then see this man.

On the piece of paper that Kaoru gave Yusuke was the words "Yoshitaka Shuichi, medical examiner". After giving it, Kaoru and Tsurumaru continued to go about their work.

Nakagosho, Nagano City: San Marco Church

Currently there is a massacre scene involving Unidentified Lifeform, Ichijou arrives and meets a police chief who is in charge of the scene.

Kaoru: Sorry I'm late, Ebisawa-san.

Gohei: Hey, sorry to drag you out here.

Kaoru: I'm curious why you'd want to ask us about a homicide.

Gohei: Well, the condition of the body has us a bit puzzled. There are two tiny holes right here, like they were bitten. We have to wait for the autopsy to be sure, but the other wounds weren't that severe. And there have been five cases like this in one night!

Kaoru: *examines the scene*

Gohei: You think it might be the thing from last night?

Kaoru: The mouths on ULF 1 and 2 were nothing like what you'd see on a human.

Gohei: All right... Did... Either of them react badly to light?

Kaoru: No... Why do you ask?

Gohei: Well, not that I believe the guy, but there's this drunk who claims be was attacked by a monster, and he says that it ran off when the sun started to rise.

Kaoru: Could it be... A third one?

Gohei was surprised at Ichijou's comment. Yusuke also arrived at the scene shortly after and overheard the conversation of the mother and daughter who had just passed by.

Daughter: Hey, Mommy, is Father Jose okay?

Mother: I'm not sure. He didn't mention that he was going to be out today.

Daughter: I hope a bear didn't get him.

Mother: Um...

Hearing that conversation, Yusuke then tried to enter the pastor's church. He cautiously entered the empty church and discovered the pastor watching from behind a half-open door.

Yusuke: Oh... Are you Father Jose?

Father Jose: *walks out*

Yusuke: Oh, uh... I was just wondering how you were doing.

The pastor seemed to be about to walk over to Yusuke when the moment he reached the spot where the light was shining, he immediately backed away with a rather painful expression. Yusuke felt a bit strange with that expression of the pastor, but when he looked up at the church window, he thought that the light from there had blinded the pastor.

Yusuke: Well, as long as you're doing okay. Sorry to bug you. I'll be going.

After saying that, Yusuke started walking out of the church. On the way out, he also turned his head to see how the pastor was, but when he reached the door, the vicar spoke in a strange language.

Father Jose: You smell disgusting.

Then he touched his right earring causing it to ring. At the same time, Yusuke, when he heard that echo, turned around and saw that the pastor was nowhere to be found, which made Yusuke feel strange again but he had to let it go. Yusuke just went home without knowing that there was a dead body lying behind the pulpit of the church.

Sakurako is currently on the phone with the person on the other end of the line and she seems to be complaining about Yusuke to that person.

Sakurako: I know, tell me about it! He sleeps all night, and then leaves me waiting for two hours! I felt so awkward waiting at the restaurant!

When Yusuke turned around, Sakurako saw that and went to beat Yusuke, making him a bit confused. The person on the other end talked about the bear incident to Sakurako.

Sakurako: Huh? Bear attacks? Yeah, that does sound bad *smiles nervously*? You've had reports of them over there too, Makoto? *surprise* What? Really?

Sakurako then motioned for Yusuke to keep her cell phone for her to hear and took out a pen and paper to jot down what Makoto told her.

Sakurako: When? Uh-huh. Okay, let's see... Hakoshimizu 4-chome in Nagano, right? Right, got it. Thanks. See you.

Ending the call, Yusuke slowly let go of the phone for Sakurako to take and put away.

Sakurako: I'm gonna be out late tonight, so help me find a place to stay.

Yusuke: Eh?

Sakurako: They're holding a wake for Professor Natsume from the expedition team. I should at least offer my condolences. And you should too, Godai-kun. After all, he's your childhood friend's father

Yusuke: Okay. It's been a long time since I've seen her family. But there's something I'm curious about, too.

Yusuke immediately took their things out of the shop and started looking for a nearby hotel to stay.

Nagano City: Koshibami

It is evening now, Kaoru is in the squad car and he is going to assist the police team that discovered the Unidentified Lifeform without knowing that Yusuke is driving after him. The Unidentified Lifeform was none other than the monster who killed the woman last night, also known by the police as 3. He has now attacked a police member, biting him in the neck and hurling them at officers at the scene while they were shooting at him. Kaoru arrived at the scene a few seconds later, and along with Yusuke, the two went to the group of policemen.

Kaoru: Run! Hurry, get clear!

Yusuke: Ichijo-san!

Kaoru: *stops Yusuke* Get out of here! This is a job for the police!

Yusuke: But Ichijo-san...

Kaoru: I told you to get out of here!

Kaoru quickly used his gun to shoot 3 but unfortunately his body like Gmun, guns couldn't do anything to him. Yusuke then ran to attack 3 and the more he hit him, his body transformed into Kuuga.

Kaoru: *surprised* He transformed?

Kuuga threw a lot of punches at 3 but unfortunately those hits were just scratching an itch for him.

3: Let me show you how to hit someone.

Kuuga continued to attack him but was then attacked by 3 several times causing him to be hit by Dehenshin and fall to the ground with such pain that he was unable to move. When 3 was about to rush in to kill Yusuke, Kaoru shot the monster and temporarily distracted him. While 3 attacked Kaoru, wounding him, it was time for a squad car to arrive and force the monster to retreat due to the vehicle's headlights. The person in that car was none other than Tsurumaru, he ran out of the car to help and with Yusuke brought Kaoru to the hospital.

Nagano Prefectural Police Hospital

     Yusuke was waiting outside the hospital room when suddenly Kaoru came out of the room with the nurse who was trying to stop him.

Nurse: You can't leave, Mr. Ichijo! You need a proper exam. There's a chance you could have fractures.

Kaoru: It's fine. I'm not in any more pain.

Nurse: That can't be true.

Kaoru: I SAID IT'S FINE! I have a lot of work to do.

Kaoru quickly left, Yusuke followed him to talk.

Yusuke: Ichijo-sab!

Kaoru: Are you still here?

Yusuke: That was my fault, what happened.

Kaoru: You need to back off. Whatever's happened to you, you're still a civilian.

Yusuke: But I...

Kaoru immediately grabbed Yusuke's coat and pushed him against the wall.

Kaoru: You can believe that this power you have is for fighting if you want. But you have no obligation to fight. Protecting the public is a job for the police. Don't get involved if you're not serious!

After saying that, Kaoru left. At the same time, Yusuke suddenly saw Kuuga in red armor. Later, Yusuke also went out of the hospital to return to the hotel where he and Sakurako were staying. He was just getting into his motorbike when suddenly someone called him.

?: Hey you, wait a moment!

Yusuke: Huh?

The one who called him was a blonde high school student wearing a Kuoh Private Academy uniform.

Yusuke: Did you call me?

?2: You are Godai Yusuke right?

Yusuke: That's right. What's wrong?

?2: Hi, I'm Kiba Yuuto, a member of the mystery research club.

Yusuke: Oh, so you must know Issei, right?

Yuuto: Yes, he's also a member of that club. Oh, do you have free time? I have something to tell you.

Yusuke: Sorry, I've been busy, I'll leave it for another day.

Yusuke returned to the hotel and found Sakurako waiting for him.

Sakurako: Godai-kun, you're late! What kept you?

Yusuke: I was thinking about the red warrior.

Sakurako: Red warrior?

Yusuke: In the vision I saw, the warrior was red. But when I transformed, I was white... I think I'm supposed tơ be red.

Sakurako: Red...

Yusuke: It didn't work right because I was holding back too much.

Sakurako: I never thought of you as the restrained type, Godai-kun.

Yusuke: Well, I am... Sometimes.

Hakoshimizu, Nagano City: Professor Natsume's Residence

Yusuke and Sakurako attended the funeral, Yusuke volunteered to wait outside because he wasn't properly dressed for the event. During that incident, the daughter of one of the archaeologists who died, ran out and cried, accidentally bumping into Yusuke as he was walking back and forth in front of the house.

3: Sorry... Are you...

Yusuke: *smiles* Long time no see, Mi-chan!

Mika: *realizes* Yu-chan! Indeed, it's been a long time.

Although Mika was trying to keep her sad feelings in front of Yusuke, she was unable to work.

Mika: Sorry, Yu-chan! I'm glad to see you again but... Right now I need to be alone *cries*.

Yusuke: Wait, Mi-chan...

Yusuke was unable to stop Mika and she hid in a corner of the tree next to her house and continued to cry.

Mika: *cries* Dad...

Yusuke could only watch without knowing how to comfort Mika, so he hurt himself by punching the wall hard in anger at his hesitation.

Nagano City: Kurita

It was night time, in a small mobile stall where a drunk person was leaving when Kaoru entered to ask one of the men there.

Kaoru: Are you Masaru Oshima?

Masaru: Whatcha want?

Kaoru: I wanted to ask you about the monster you said you were attacked by.

Masaru: *surprised* You mean you actually believe me?! That thing ran off and climbed through the window of the church! Over at San Marco.

According to Mr. Masaru, Kaoru went to the church without informing his superiors and carried a rifle. At this moment, the sleeping pastor stood on the ceiling like a bat, suddenly the noise made by Kaoru woke him up even though he walked cautiously. The pastor then transformed himself into 3 and charged at Kaoru. 3 knocks Kaoru down but he shoots anyway, hitting one of the benches where the monster lurks. 3 disappeared momentarily before ambushing Kaoru by flying through one of the stained glass windows. In the process, a candle spilled, igniting nearby curtains. 3 grabbed and threw Kaoru, and due to his coat's proximity to the flames, it caught fire in the process.

3: I have doubts about the taste, but I'll still drink your blood.

When 3 approached Kaoru, Yusuke drove up his motorbike and jumped out of it to rush in the monster but unfortunately he dodged and Yusuke's motorbike plunged into the fire and exploded. Yusuke quickly went to Kaoru to put out the flames by using his jacket to extinguish them.

Kaoru: What are you doing here?!

3 continued to rush towards them but the two of them dodged to the side to avoid his attack.

Yusuke: I'm going to fight!

Kaoru: *angry* Haven't you learned?!

3 attacked Yusuke, who both dodged and parried his attack.

Yusuke: I don't want to let these things make anyone else cry! I want people to smile! So please, watch my HENSHIN!

Yusuke attacks 3 and transforms into Kuuga in the process, the only difference from before is that his armor is no longer WHITE, it has now turned RED and the horn is also longer.

Kaoru and 3 were both surprised by this new form of Kuuga.

3: How are you Kuuga?!

Kuuga: Kuuga? I seem to understand what it says. I get it! This is Kuuga! So from now on, I'm Kamen Rider Kuuga.

At this point, the fire raged and Kuuga was forced to carry Kaoru out of the burning building. After that, 3 grabbed Kuuga and threw him into an abandoned building. The two continue to fight, when suddenly Gmun appears to help 3 attack Kuuga.

Gmun: Long time no see, Xu-Goma-Gu.

Goma: You are... Xu-Gmun-Ba!

Gmun and Goma fight each other, causing Kuuga to gradually become defeated. In the middle of the battle, Kaoru entered the building and shot at the monsters, but then collapsed and fainted instantly. At some point, an open window caused light to shine on Goma causing him to retreat, leaving Kuuga to fight Gmun. During the 1 vs 1 battle, Gmun released the thread and blinded Kuuga so that he could not move and was pushed down by him.

Gmun: Time to die!

Gmun took out his claws to stab Kuuga to death but Kuuga immediately broke Gmun's thread and grabbed his clawed arm and threw him away. Before Gmun could react, Kuuga gave him a strong Rider Kick , sending him flying. Unexpectedly, that was his finishing blow.

Gmun: *pain* I'll kill you... You're dead... I'll kill you... I will kill you... KUUGA...!

After those words, suddenly a strange symbol appeared in Gmun's body, causing him to explode. Kuuga was a bit surprised with his finishing blow, but he let it go because today was more than enough for everything.

Then, Kaoru woke up outside, his head leaning on Yusuke's shoulder.

Yusuke: *smiles* Good morning, Ichijo-san.

Kaoru: Why am I leaning on you?

Yusuke: Aw, don't worry about it *giggles*.

Kaoru: I'll never live this down.

Even so, Kaoru still leaned on because his current body was too tired from the fight just now. Yusuke also didn't care much and continued to watch the dawn getting brighter.
