(Renew) Chapter 1: The Eye of the Typhoon

Y/n Pov

Location: Unknown island

The dull ache in my head was the first thing that registered, a ghost of the agonizing pain from being ripped through that damn portal. I blinked, the relentless sun a blinding glare against my eyes. Around me, only the vast expanse of a bright, sandy coast, the dense, unfamiliar jungle at my back, and scattered colossal stones near the waterline. It was clear then: survival on this island was my immediate thought.

Days passing, marked by the steady rhythm of basic survival. I'd managed to find an abandoned, dilapidated school building, surprisingly intact, which I'd claimed as my temporary sanctuary. It offered a solid roof, a rare luxury in this strange place.

My first priority, after securing the hideout, was to scout the island for supplies. What I discovered was as perplexing as it was isolating: the island itself was a pocket of unnatural calm, nestled within a relentless, impenetrable wall of storms.

I stood over the Juuga Driver, sitting on a makeshift table in the school's dilapidated classroom, its intricate design a stark contrast to the dust and decay around it.

"Hmmmmmmm," I murmured, my voice a low rumble in the quiet. "Well, it looks like I can't escape right now. I need to check my Driver. And fulfill my stomach, because I haven't eaten yet. Lucky, a chicken was trapped yesterday. Tonight, I will cook for myself a chicken soup." My stomach gave a hopeful grumble in response.

Meanwhile on the Island...

Zuikaku's POV

"Haaah... we managed escape from that storm, desu!" I sighed, looking out at the churning chaos that encircled this strange island. "And ended up on this island with Iron Blood and the rest of Sakura Empire girls after our fight against Azur Lane. Truly a fortunate turn of events, ne?"

I turned to Prinz Eugen, offering a grateful smile. "Eugen-san... you really saved us back there. I'm very thankful, desu."

Eugen merely offered a nonchalant shrug, her eyes glinting. "I didn't do anything special, ja." She glanced towards the churning wall of storms.

We both stare at the storm.

Zuikaku: ""Sakura Empire lore calls this 'The Eye of the Typhoon', the weather's clear here, but the island itself is surrounded by a great storm. It never goes away... it just lingers... Do you think this is also the Siren's doing, desu?""

Eugen: "Hmm, perhaps. Anyway, how about we take a breather on this island for the time being? Relax a bit, eh?"

Zuikaku: "Considering our current situation, we don't really have any other choice, do we, desu?"

We walked back to our allies, relaying the proposition. Predictably, some protested, ready to keep up the fight, but others, seeing the logic of a temporary ceasefire, agreed. I extended my hand to Eugen.

"And so, there shall be no further objection," I declared, a faint smile touching my lips. "Both of us... we shall share leadership for this temporary peace."

"I don't mind," Eugen replied, her own smile enigmatic.

Cheers rose from a few girls. Z23, as expected, still frowned, but Eugen simply patted her on the shoulder.

"Es ist gut, Z23. A little peace won't hurt... zu viel."

Zuikaku: "The way out of this forest is just right ahead."

However, my excitement proved premature as my foot caught on something unseen, sending me tumbling into a surprisingly soft, yielding patch of... something. Just then, a cacophony erupted from the undergrowth, and we found ourselves face to face with the Azur Lane girls we'd just been fighting. Kami-sama, what rotten luck!

I was in the midst of setting a snare for something larger than a chicken, my focus entirely on the intricate knot, when a distant scream, unmistakably feminine, cut through the jungle's quiet hum. My hands stilled. Was that... real? Or was just my imagination?

Perhaps someone was genuinely lost out here, or maybe my ears were wrong. I shook my head, dismissing the thought for now. My traps were set, and dinner was secured. The scream, whoever it belonged to, could wait. Tonight, I would hunt, and tomorrow, I'd investigate if that sound truly came from someone.

Back with the Shipgirls

Eugen: ""Guten Tag, Azur Lane ladies."

Z23 immediately tensed, pointing. "Spee! Kontakt mit Crimson Axis!"

Spee, ever literal, looked at her comm device. "Verstanden! ...Ah. There are no signals, like with my phone."

Z23 (facepalming): "Ach... Richtig! Mein Gott, I completely forgot."

Hammann (nervous): "I can't believe you didn't realiz that."

San Diego (burst out laughing): "Hammann just did the same thing."

Unicorn: ""Lady Formidable, I think this is not a suitable time to fight each other. It seems there is no sign of Dark Cube here. There is no reason for everyone to fight, right?""

Ah, a smart girl. Eugen decided to take advantage of their current predicament. We were all trapped, after all.

Eugen: "Alright, I get it. We should follow your cute little lady's wish and halt our fight for the time being."

Everyone seemed shocked by Eugen's agreement, even Formidable, who eventually nodded, accepting the temporary truce. Shoukaku, Minneapolis, and Spee volunteered to explore the island for resources. A logical step.

Then, all the girls introduced themselves, a bizarre tableau of erstwhile enemies exchanging pleasantries under a sky of unnatural calm.

Minneapolis Pov

I set off to explore the island with Shoukaku and Spee, though Spee seemed utterly flabbergasted to be working alongside Crimson Axis members. While I managed to catch some fish down by the shallows, Shoukaku, with Spee's help, found some promising mushrooms deeper in the jungle. We decided to head back to our friends once we had enough supplies.

As we crossed through a particularly dense bamboo jungle, we accidentally stumbled upon an undeniable sign of recent human activity.

"Girls, isn't it weird to see a fishing rod on a deserted island, right?" Shoukaku whispered, her eyes wide.

"Agree," I replied, scanning the surroundings. "Maybe someone lives here?"

Spee fidgeted, a nervous energy radiating from her. "Uhh, maybe we need to go back our friends before the owner of this rod comes back to take it.''

Shoukaku: "Agree."

When we came back, we just happened to stumble upon a surprisingly peaceful scene.

It seemed it wasn't so important to immediately report our discovery on the island. We decided to talk about what we'd found tomorrow, allowing this uneasy peace to settle.
