Kamala, Doug and Devi have had an extremely busy day thus far today!

Kamala, Doug and Devi all woke up like they would usually do on any other day of the week but today, they all took showers or a baby bath earlier in their day before they all got dressed to head to the airport!

Once at the airport, Kamala, Doug and Devi all got on Air Force 2 to head to California for a political rally for Gavin Newsom's recall election!

This was the first time that Kamala and Doug have been to California since Kamala became Vice President in January and this was Devi's first ever plane ride and first time ever in California!

Kamala, Doug and Devi all enjoyed their peaceful and relaxing five hour plane ride from Washington DC to California!

Once in California, Kamala, Doug and Devi all loaded in the Vice President motorcade and headed to where Gavin's Newsom's recall election rally was!

Kamala and Doug both really wanted to do this political rally today because they are both very close friends with Gavin and his wife Jennifer as well!

At the election recall rally, Kamala gave as passionate speech about Gavin and the many issues in hand in California! Devi also made his first ever public appearance and first political rally at just one month old!

After the election recall rally, Kamala, Doug and Devi all hung out and caught up with Gavin, his wife Jennifer and their four children Montana, Hunter, Brooklyn and Dutch!

Montana, Hunter, Brooklyn and Dutch have grown up a lot since the last time Kamala and Doug saw them, which was right before the pandemic!

Gavin, Jennifer, their four kids, Kamala, Doug and Devi all part ways after hanging out for a few hours and Kamala and Doug went to In-N-Out to enjoy a special late lunch they don't get a lot anymore since Washington DC sadly does not have In-N-Outs.

Kamala, Doug and Devi all load up back in their SUV that is in the Vice President motorcade, ready to go back to the airport where they will all get on Air Force 2 to fly the five hour flight back to Washington DC, which is home to the Emhoff-Harris family for at least the next four years.

"Did you have fun being home for a few hours, honey?" Doug asks Kamala as he buckles a happy Devi into his car seat to get him ready for the twenty five minute drive to the airport, where Air Force 2 is waiting for them!

Devi is wide awake and is happily enjoying the sights, smalls and sounds of California, which Kamala finds so precious.

Even though Devi will have no memories of this special trip to California, Doug and Kamala will and they will also have many pictures and videos from this special day as well!

"I really did, honey. This quick trip back home was very much needed for my soul. I love Washington DC and I absolutely love and adore my job as Vice President, I get home sick sometimes." Kamala says as Doug sits next to her and wraps his arm around her, holding her close to him.

"I am very glad that you enjoyed today's trip, honey. I really enjoyed it myself. Today was filled with many happy memories for us and for Devi, even though he won't remember a thing." Doug says as he and Kamala both chuckle and smile at Devi who is getting sleepier by the minute.

"Well, we will have many pictures and videos from this day for him to look back on when he gets older." Kamala says with a smile as she kisses Doug and Doug kisses her back.

"We sure do." Doug says with a grin and Kamala smiles back at Doug.

"I love you, Dougie." Kamala says to Doug as she lays her head on his shoulder.

"I love you too! Are you ready to head back home?" Doug asks Kamala as he tenderly rubs Kamala's back.

"I am ready to head black home. However, there is one place I would like to go before we head back home." Kamala says to Doug softly.

"What place is that, honey?" Doug asks Kamala softly as he continues to hold her close to him.

"My mother's gravesite. I haven't been able to visit her since the pandemic started and it's been breaking my heart because I usually went a few times a year." Kamala says, trying to not tear up.

Even though her mother passed away in 2009, the pain is still raw for Kamala and she misses her mother dearly. Kamala knows her mother would have loved and adored Doug and she most have definitely loved having a grandsons and two great granddaughters from Meena.

"Well, let's go then. We will do anything for you, honey." Doug says softly to Kamala as he rubs her back, comforting her before placing a kiss on her cheek, causing Kamala to smile.

"Thank you, honey. Thank you so much." Kamala whispers to Doug as she continues to lay her head on Doug's shoulder.

"You are very welcome." Doug says to Kamala as he softly kisses her again.

The Vice President motorcade heads to Piedmont Funeral Services and Mountain View Cemetery in Oakland California, where some of Shyamala's ashes are buried.

After a half an hour drive, Kamala, Doug and Devi have made it to Shyamala's gravesite.

"We are here, baby." Doug says to Kamala and Kamala looks up at Doug, hugging him tightly.

"Thank you again, Dougie." Kamala says softly to Doug.

"You're welcome, baby. I know how important this is to you to visit your mom. Let's go and see her and introduce Devi to her too." Doug says and Kamala nods in agreement.

Doug, Kamala and Devi all get out of the SUV and they walk over to where Shyamala's gravesite is.

Doug has been to Shyamala's gravesite a few times with Kamala in the past. However, Kamala, Maya and Meena usually all go together. It is a special tradition they have as the three Harris girls.

Kamala holds Devi close as they walk over to Shyamala's gravesite. Doug follows behind Kamala and Devi, being protective as always with Secret Service watching from afar.

Kamala sits down on the ground with Devi in her arms, sitting on her lap.

"Devi, this is your Nani. This is your grandmother, Shyamala. She is Mama's mommy. Yes, she is." Kamala says softly to Devi and Devi coos some.

"Your grandmother brought you to Daddy and I. You are a miracle and your grandmother loves you so so much. She would have spoiled you rotten just like she did Cousin Meena." Kamala says softly to Devi.

"Your grandmother was a scientist and she wanted to cure breast cancer. Isn't that so cool?" Kamala says to Devi and Devi coos some more.

"But sadly she got cancer. Not breast cancer but colon cancer. She fought so hard and now she is an angel in heaven, watching over all of us." Kamala says as she begins to tear up.

Doug sits next to Kamala and rubs her back, comforting her as Kamala begins to cry.

"Your grandmother would have been so proud of Mama for being the first ever woman Vice President. Yeah!" Doug says in a babyfied voice and Devi coos.

Devi then smiles at the tombstone causing Kamala and Doug to both smile too. 

"Do you see your Nani? Can you see her? Dougie, I think Devi can see her." Kamala says to Devi and then Doug.

"I always heard that little kids and babies can see spirits." Doug says with a grin and Kamala giggles.

While Kamala, Devi and Doug all visit Shyamala, pictures and videos of the trio are posted online from bystanders and Americans all begin to react on Twitter.

Kamala, Doug and their son Devi take time to visit Kamala's late mother gravesite before heading back home to Washington DC.

After visiting Shyamala's gravesite for an hour and a half, Kamala, Doug and Devi leave to head back to Washington DC.
