Ash's POV:

Today was the day I would fight Tyson....AGAIN. But this time, I was sure the result would be different because I had gathered TONS of experience and I was more in sync with my Pokemon.

"Ash, it's time!!", Max informed me. I grinned back and nodded. Raichu smirked at me and let off some sparks through his cheeks. He then punched the air and let out a loose Thunderbolt.

"We'll get him this time!!", I told him pumped up completely.

"To 'get' him, you'll have to go and battle. The battle begins in half an hour!", Max told me poking me in my sternum.

"Alright, alright!", I told him defensively and began to pack up my things. We then began to leave and reached the stadium in the nick of time.

"LET'S GO AND LET'S GET IT!!", I yelled in excitement before walking towards my side of the Battle Arena. After reaching the spot, Tyson gave me a smirk and a thumbs up which I returned. Then the MC came to the podium.

"Dear Ladies and Gentlemen, we are gonna have a different sort of battle today. The competitors will choose their type of battle except.........their choice won't exactly be what they have wished for!", she announced and I had no clue as to what she meant. Neither did Tyson as I saw him scratching his head.

"Let me, explain. The competitors will together spin the wheel and the battle will be based on the region the spoke of the wheel lands on"

The wheel had 5 regions. 1v1, 3v3, 6v6, 2s2 and 3s3. Tyson and I shrugged and walked towards the wheel and spun it. The spoke landed on 2s2.

"IT'S DECIDED!! THE BATTLE WILL BE A 2 ON 2 SIMULTANEOUS BATTLE WHERE THE TRAINERS BATTLE WITH BOTH OF THEIR POKEMON AT THE SAME TIME!! To those who still do not understand, it will be like the Gym Battle you would have had with Olympia"

So that kind of a battle, huh? Fine! I can still do it, no problem.

"You can DO it, Ash!!", I heard a crystal clear voice yell. I turned and saw Serena waving at me with Dawn in her usual cheerleader outfit with Lopunny and Piplup cheering with pink pom-poms. May was yelling at Max....again.

"The battle between Ash Ketchum of Pallet Town and Tyson from Mauville City. Each trainer will use 2 Pokemon simultaneously and when both of a single trainer's Pokemon are unable to battle, the match will end. Let the match, begin!!!"

"Persian, Sceptile!! Time to take another step towards victory!!"

"Staraptor, Talonflame!! I choose YOU!!"

Both of them came and gave each other a smirk before observing that they were on the same side and slapped their wings together and made a peace-out kind of a movement which lasted for 10 seconds.

"Persian, start off with Feint Attack!! Sceptile, Bullet Seed!!"

"Staraptor, fly above Talonflame!! Both of you, use GUST!!"

They were strong in their own but their combined strength sent Persian flying to his end and Sceptile's Bullet Seed returned and bit the both of them dealing a decent amount of damage.

"Damn, they're strong! But we are stronger!! Sceptile, use your tail to jump up and use Leaf Blade!! Persian, use Hyperbeam!!"

"Soar up!! Staraptor, protect Talonflame! Talonflame, use Flare Blitz on the field! We'll shake up the field with this attack"

Staraptor narrowly dodged one melee attack but took the second Leaf Blade head on which stunned him temporarily.

"Don't let them rest, my friends. Persian, use Feint Attack on Staraptor by jumping on Sceptile. Sceptile, try to stop Talonflame by repeated Bullet Seed attacks. They are the most efficient and effective", he ordered.

Talonflame was charged by the Flare Blitz so he was able to dodge the attacks.

"Staraptor, dodge by Double Team!! Talonflame, keep up the Flare Blitz!!", I ordered which they executed perfectly. But the repeated attacks took a small toll on Staraptor's energy and he was panting in exhaustion.

"Staraptor, fly down and take some rest! Talonflame needs you to help him! Talonflame, you're on your own for a minute!! Keep using Flare Blitz!!"

Staraptor began breathing heavily but regained his strength soon and flew above Talonflame again to protect him while Talonflame was busy scorching the field.

"Persian, use Sceptile as a trampoline to hoist yourself up and finish off Staraptor with a set of Fury Swipes!!"

Persian did as he was told and was close to Staraptor.

"Close Combat!! Do it when he's just about to attack you!!"

"WHAT?!"

While Tyson was getting over the surprise attack, Staraptor had finished clobbering Persian down and sent him flying up and was intercepted by Talonflame in his Flare Blitz and fell down knocked out.

"Persian is unable to battle! Tyson has to continue with Sceptile alone!!", the referee announced.

"Persian, return!! You did well and I'm proud of you for that!! Sceptile, use Bullet Seed to knock down Talonflame. We need him out!!"

"Corkscrew!!"

"What the heck is that??"

He didn't understand a single thing as Talonflame used Steel Wing and rotated like a motor while all the Seeds ricocheted back to Sceptile who gracefully dodged them this time.

"Staraptor, Hyperbeam!! Talonflame, Flare Blitz!!!"

Both of them came together and attacked while Sceptile had just taken his breath from dodging all those of his own attacks.

"Sceptile, stop them using Frenzy Plant!!"

Sceptile nodded his head and tapped his hands on the ground and caused lots of roots to pop up. We had trained for this situation and both of them dodged it easily and all that dodging and hitting took a massive toll on Sceptile's energy. Talonflame was no better but Staraptor had some energy left and while Talonflame managed to stun Sceptile, Staraptor gave the knock out blow.

"SCEPTILE!!!", Tyson yelled in concern.

"Tiiiiiiiiile!", Sceptile drawled.

"Sceptile is unable to battle! Staraptor and Talonflame are the winners! The match goes to Ash Ketchum of Pallet Town!!", the referee announced.

"Rap! Rap! Staraptor!!"

"Lon!! TalllonFLAME!!"

They cheered in delight as we won the battle.

"Return, Sceptile!! Ash was the better battler today. You did a magnificent job in the battle. You've made me proud my friend!!", he thanked Sceptile returning him to his Pokeball.

"Good match, Ash!! You have grown INSANELY powerful. My Persian and Sceptile have never been defeated so badly ever before. Do your best in the rest of the tournament!!", he wished ms offering his hand for a handshake which I gladly accepted.

Meanwhile, Staraptor and Talonflame were flying around the battlefield yelling their names in joy and occasionally giving wing-fives to the spectators.

"Nice birds you've got!", Tyson complemented. I just grinned in return.

"They are so alike you might mistake them for twins", I told him laughing.

"Alright, Ash! I've gotta go. I'll keep in touch!", he told me and he left.

Then I left the battle Arena and went out in search of my friends and I was suddenly tackled by a hug from behind. I knew who'd give me such a hug.

"What a BATTLE, Ash!! I knew you could do it!!", my beautiful girlfriend screamed before attacking me with kisses.

"Can we keep it PG13 here?", I heard someone ask. It was Max, typical Max and right after that comment I heard someone swat him. That was definitely May. She was the only one who had the permit to legally abuse him in the name of sibling affection.
Dawn had somehow gotten out of her cheerleader outfit and back to her usual ones while Serena was in a purple shirt and a white hat which complemented her looks. I now realized that her usual clothes didn't do so.

"When is your battle, Max?", I asked him hugging Serena from behind while she just gave a satisfied sigh and cuddled into my embrace and Raichu jumped onto my shoulders. Talonflame and Staraptor landed after their victory celebration and began chatting with Raichu.

"I think it's tomorrow", he told me in a not so confident tone.

"Will you EVER grow up, Max?", May yelled face palming.

"At least I'm not the one running around a guy wagging my tail like a little Shinx!", Max retorted and lit the fire of yet another sibling bicker fight.

In a minute, Dawn caught them by their ears and yanked them away mumbling something about horrid brothers and sisters. We followed suit and as a victory gift, I allowed Talonflame and Staraptor to fly around till we reach the Pokemon Centre.

After that I gave them to Nurse Joy and while she was healing them, Serena updated me on her journey. Palermo had given them the day off. They were gonna go to Sinnoh in a month as a Tournament was gonna begin there and Palermo wanted to see the benefits of her training. Serena's Pancham had evolved to a Pangoro and he still wore her glasses on his forehead though it looked awkward. Pancham was cute so the glasses looked nice on him but Pangoro was intimidating and the glasses didn't exactly complement his looks. Sylveon had learnt new moves apparently and their routine had won her the 2nd place in a Coordinator Tournament in Hoenn where they had gone about 2 months back.

After a few minutes, Nurse Joy and Wigglytuff returned my Pokeballs and we left the Centre to take the rest of the day off. I simply wanted to lay down and watch some battles on TV.

Serena's POV:

Since Ash decided to take the rest of the day off, I decided to take us on a date. As expected, Ash still had no idea as to what a date is and I tried explaining the meaning of a date but in vain.

"You know what? Fine!! Get ready in 5 minutes. I'll be ready in 10!", I said and left his room leaving him totally confused and so was Raichu as he tilted his head in the same manner how he'd do it when he was a Pikachu.

About 10 minutes later, I went and knocked his door and entered. To my surprise, he had actually dressed well. He had ditched his trainer's clothes and wore a good looking casual outfit. It was blue however. I still don't understand his addiction towards the blue colour.

"Come on, let's go!", I told him and dragged him out grasping his hand.

"Where are we going?", he asked me. The beach seemed like a good idea. It was close by, a 5 minute walk would take us there.

"To the beach", I told him.

"I didn't take my swimsuit, and it doesn't seem like you have taken yours either", he complained.

"(Huff) We are simply going for a walk around the beach shore!!", I whined. He nodded his head and simply followed me.

The beginning of the date was horrible but it was amazing as it progressed. Ash wrapped his right arm around my waist and I snuggled into his embrace and leaned my head on his shoulder as we walked.

"Why don't we sit here for a while?", I suggested and we sat down and saw the sunset together. It was so typical and a cheesy move but it was amazing. Suddenly I heard a voice squeal.

"Fffreeeeeeee!!"

I saw a dark blue butterfly with red eyes and a yellow scarf flying towards us. I presumed it had lost its way but when I turned around and saw Ash, he was grinning in joy.

"BUTTERFREE!! You came BACK!!", he yelled in joy. The butterfly Pokemon it's head and it's red eyes were filled with mirth. He immediately went and hugged it and after he released the Pokemon, it began to circle around his head in joy.

"Hey, Serena! This is Butterfree. He is the first ever Pokemon I have caught!", he introduced me to Butterfree. I simply waved at him and gave him a sweet smile and he flew around me squealing.

"She is my girlfriend, buddy. Isn't that AWESOME??", Ash asked him with his voice oozing in joy while Butterfree suddenly grew sad. Ash gave him the oh-that-happened look.

"She left you, huh?", he asked him to which he nodded.

"Don't worry, buddy. If she doesn't want you, it's her loss. Any Pokemon would be lucky to have someone like you!", he encouraged Butterfree who returned to his happy state. Suddenly, I heard another squeal but this was more girly.

"No WAY!! Lapras?!", Ash asked the Royal blue Pokemon who giggled and cuddled with him while Butterfree looked at them confused.

He then introduced me to Lapras, we went on a Lapras Cruise and had some ice cream. That was the BEST date I could EVER imagine. After our date, Ash and I walked to our hotel with Lapras and Butterfree in tow. Lapras found it difficult to walk but Ash gave her the idea of freezing the land in front of her to slide through the ice to walk. ANYTHING related to Pokemon, Ash would have an answer to it, that's my boyfriend.

Before going into our respective rooms, I brought him into a kiss which ended in a short make out session and we went into our respective rooms. Finally, I told May, Dawn and my Pokemon about our date. I admit, I rubbed the date on May's and Dawn's face once in a while, but I was happy. For the first time in 2 months I was GENUINELY happy. Suddenly, I heard a voice. What was with me and hearing voices that day, I had NO idea.

"ALRIGHT! WHO'S UP FOR SOME LATE NIGHT TRAINING???!!!", the most familiar voice asked. All of us groaned in annoyance. Well, there goes our sleep.
