chapter three.

"hmm? why do i see so many mistakes today?" the boy with grey framed glasses looked at hyejin, his gaze tearing away from the notebook where laid numerous red crosses and scribblings.

hyejin blinked her eyes rapidly, his voice dragging her out of her trance and peeped at the notebook in a curious manner. the boy handed her her notebook with pursed lips on noticing her curious yet questionable eyes. on scanning the notebook, she too was left awestruck by the number of silly mistakes she had done today.

she glanced at the wall clock for one last time before facepalming, a way of telling herself to hurry up and grabbed the pen, starting to correct the mistakes.

"is there somewhere you're supposed to be today?" the boy asked, scanning each and every move of her.

pink tint crept up on her cheeks before shaking her head violently while she corrected the equations once again. sounds of laughter filled her small room as she stole a glance at him, her cheeks heating up when she noticed the dimples appearing on the sides of his soft lips.

"alright, let's end today's study session here. make sure you perform well tomorrow," the boy said, closing the math notebook on the low table. "see you tomorrow, hyejin." he gave her a tight smile, his dimples on show again as he stood and grabbed his bag and walking out of her room.

she accompanied him outside as she smiled at him for the last time. "see you tomorrow, namjoon."

once she was done bidding him a goodbye, she darted to her room, eyes moving to the wall clock once again. ten minutes before five o' clock. she sprinted to her wardrobe, pulling out the first dress which came to her view. after getting dressed in them, she rushed to her bedside table, pulling out the camera she had found earlier, from the top drawer and dashed downstairs, nonchalant about how her hair or face appeared.

"i'm going to the cafe, mom!" she yelled while wearing her sneakers and grabbed one umbrella from the umbrella bucket before slamming the door open and shut in a matter of seconds.

the cafe being in a walking distance from her home was one of the few reasons on why she preferred that cafe over all other. though hoseok had advised her yesterday to not to visit there for a few days, she couldn't sit idle and kick her heels. not when she had decided to keep the camera to herself and had felt like it was her responsibility to reveal the mystery with her own hands. she was frustrated on how she had to embarass herself in front of her freshly formed crush; her tutor, namjoon. but well, that has a different story.

"creepy bastard." she cursed while slamming open the glass door of the cafe, gaining attention of everyone sitting inside along with an annoyed hobi shooting daggers at her from the counter.

with her head lowered, she moved and sat on the corner most seat of the cafe, a seat which she was not familiar with and would never sit on in the normal days. from there, her eyes cornered to her usual table which was located right in the middle of the cafe.

"why are you here?" a stern voice startled her as she shifted her gaze to the owner of the voice.

and beside her stood an annoyed hobi.

"that hurts." hyejin referred to his choice of words and clenched her chest as if she was in great pain.

"stop exaggerating and tell me why you're here." hoseok slammed his hands on the table before meeting her startled eyes.

it wasn't everyday that you would find the sunshine boy being dead serious and appearing as if it was thundering over his head. and if you did, then congratulations, you have now summoned trouble.

"won't you help me, hobi?" she shimmered her puppy eyes at him.

"the usual?" he asked her, avoiding her question while she shook her head.

"i would say a-- no. as you can see, i'm too busy here to drink hot chocolate." hobi rolled his eyes as he went back to the next customer, behaving as if he had never faced the girl.

the customer puffed out a laugh before placing his hand above to resist himself as he looked at the barista. "what was that exchange of conversation i just witnessed? i have never seen you behave with her like that." the customer remarked while letting his face relax with his dimples subsiding.

"don't mind her today, joon. that girl is acting as if she's high on drugs. she should be fortunate that she's a regular here and everyone knows her, or else she would have been dragged out by the staffs." he shook his head as his eyes moved to the said girl who sat in the corner with a bad posture, her eyes and her body facing the empty table suspiciously before a customer flashed her a look and occupied that table.

"nah, she's cute when she's determined." chuckled namjoon.

"nope, a total headache. but don't tell her you found her sneaking on an empty table or she'll combust at me." while the two laughed at the girl's behaviour, the girl was busy feeling herself as some detective in a mystery movie with her face hidden in a hideous scarf.

she found it. this was the place where they always took photos of her from. the table was a perfect place for hiding as one could easily blend in with the wall and no one could ever figure out that they clicked photos of someone secretly as a hobby.

once satisfied, she stood from the chair, ready to leave the cafe. it was like a brief moment when her eyes found a pair of alluring eyes staring at her through the damp windows of the cafe. tall and beige coloured outfit hugged his lean figure as he stared into her eyes with fondness. mysteriousness loomed around him. she had never seen someone so beautiful ever in her life. every feature on the boy's face was so perfect that she wanted to touch them at least once in this life. it was only for a brief second that their eyes got locked together. three seconds. she rubbed her eyes once again to reassure if that godly figure was indeed looking at her. and once she opened her eyes, he was gone.

maybe, she shouldn't have rubbed her eyes.

a/n:- personal opinion: namjoon with glasses is too hot to resist!
