chapter six.
hyejin sat down on her bed while rubbing her knees and taking a deep breath. she looked around her room and smiled to herself as she recalled today's happenings. her eyes fell on the camera laying on the study desk. feeling uneasy at the sight of it, she gulped while pursing her lips.
there were a lot of questions that had popped in her head when she found out that she was being watched and captured without her permission. she didn't know why someone would chase her in the first place. she didn't fancy herself.
clenching her fists, she walked down to the mirror standing across the corner of her room. she looked down at the girl standing before her with baggy clothes and messy short hair. the girl was short, petite, her baggy clothes making her appear tinier than usual. acnes and pimples rested on her cheeks and temples while her baggy eyes had emerged with fatigue from staying up at nights.
tsking at her baggy self, she walked to the table to pick up her rounded glasses and putting them on.
"i look better with these." she smiled to herself as she looked at the mirror again, satisfied with the hidden dark circles surrounding her eyes.
as she was facing herself, she got reminded of what namjoon had said earlier today.
"you should know that no one can define your worth rather than yourself. no matter what people say about you, at the end of the day what matters is how you think and feel about yourself."
but that only confused her more. what did she think and feel about herself? she questioned herself while still looking at her reflection on the mirror. she sighed once again before moving from the mirror and walking to her desk and taking a seat on the chair.
she always felt inferior when she looked at herself. short, full of acne, dark circles, scars around her body for playing around, birthmarks on the places of her body that she never admired.
unsure, she picked the camera from the table once again and went through the photos in there. there weren't any explicit picture of her. rather, there were pictures of her gossiping with hobi at the counter, her sipping her precious hot chocolate, solving maths equations with a chocolate moustache and munching waffles with her head dug in a book. the camera was clear and free of any kind of vulgarity. she wondered how she missed this point out when going through the camera on the first day. only now she wasn't sure whether she should laugh at her quirkiness or get embarrassed for getting her behaviour captured by someone else.
scrolling down, she found the timeline before the person started stalking her in the cafe. there were photos of a sleepy turtle, a lonely cell tower, abandoned railway track covered in snow, busy streets, old couples laughing bashfully, including half of the camera filled with sky, skies during evening, sunset and sunrise, cloudy skies, skylines, horizons and endless seas.
she was fascinated, awestruck and baffled.
she was impressed by this person's photography skills. it wasn't possible for someone to capture these types of pictures with no knowledge in this area. this confused her a lot more. why would a brilliant photographer like them would try to focus on a person like her?
a/n:- what are your opinions on hyejin's thoughts? are her thoughts escalating too quickly?
