30- A Massive Red Flag?
"Grumbles..." That noise comes echoing out from Sion's stomach as he lies on his bed, staring blankly at the ceiling of his dimly lit room, now only wearing a pair of shorts and a baggy shirt. He then closes his eyes, trying to count sheeps, but another rumble comes alive, this time greater. So his bloodshot eyes open wide. He lets out a sigh as he lifts his sheet and rises up from the bed.
Thinking back, he didn't make any dinner for himself. Perhaps it's his motherly instict that causes him that error. Sure, he likes to cook but that was the first time ever he did it exclusively for somebody else. Nevertheless, a bag of chips should be enough to pause his hunger until morning. He should also save his appetite for another five star course at breakfast, so that's a win-win in his part.
So, he opens his door and exits his room, yawning as he steps his chitinous feet onto the floor towards the kitchen. He opens his fridge, letting its light shines upon his dark, moonlit living room. He then pulls out an wrinkled and opened bag of chips before walking back towards his room.
But then, "Whoosh," The wind blows hard, shivering his back. He turns around to see the window open, revealing a full moon, its curtain being blown back.
A sudden shudder crippled through his veins as his eyes widens. He pauses for a second, then he glances towards the sofa, "Aza? You there?"
A few seconds later, no response.
He puts the bag of chips back onto the counter before approaching her, or at least he hopes it's still her.
But to his dismay, it is something worse.
"Pretty moon, huh?" A familiar, deep and coarse male voice. A voice belonging to someone he'll rather forget.
Velion, the tattooed lesser demon rises up from the sofa where Azayaka should've been, turning around to give Sion a smirk.
"You... What the hell are you doing here?" Sion immediately tenses up, his tail rising tall.
"Oh me? I'm just chillin'. I want no trouble. Just want to talk," The demon says, smiling his razor sharp teeth as his red eyes glow in the dark.
"Well, either way, you're still trespassing my property. Get the hell out!" Sion spits, furrowing his brow at the demon.
Veli shrugs as he rolls his eyes, "Your property? Last time I checked, you missed your due rent and almost got evicted. Oh wait, wasn't I the one that payed that and saved your ass?"
"So? That doesn't change anything!" Sion grows more agitated.
"Maybe for you, it doesn't. But for me, it does," Veli's red eyes narrows, "I was really, really trying to fit your little standard... Y'know?" Looking down at the floor, he asks with a gloomy tone as he hides his gaze, "So tell me. How was I... Not good enough for you?"
"Tch!" Sion then slams his way towards a locker beside his apartment door. He opens it then pulls out his beloved, modified M24, a sniper rifle with six scopes designed just for his eyes.
Without any hesitation, he aims it towards the lesser demon, his gritted teeth hardening as he yells, "Out! You hear me!? Out!"
"Heh..." His voice quickly brightens up. He raises his face to give Sion a smirk, a mocking one at that, "I already expected you to react that way."
The second Sion blinks, the demon is already in front of him, face to face, widely glaring his bloodshot eyes as his smile curves in the most savage of ways.
Sion stumbles back but keeps his eye contact. He then points his gun's barrel directly at the demon's forehead. Its cold tip touching his deathly pale, dark brown skin.
"You're feisty. You've always have been," The demon tilts his head. Dark fog of sinister aura starts to emanate from his back as he sharpens his glare, "It's one of the things that'll always make me remember you..."
"Get. Out!" Sion prepares his index finger, touching the trigger, "Or I'll shoot!"
"Heh... Really? Well, we all know you're too much of a pussy to actually do that," Calmly, he pushes his forehead harder onto the gun's barrel while widening his smile, "Beside, why so pushy? You didn't forget to ask where that Fairy is, right?"
"Tch..." Sion grits his teeth, his hold starts to turn feeble.
"Oh, look. You're trembling," Veli mocks, "Once again, I was right," Calmly, he pinches the gun's tip away, letting his crimson glare takes over Sion's vision, "You've always been weak. Useless in every but one mostly unlikely situation," His fingers start to trace across the scorpion's jawline, before arriving at his chin, "That's why you needed me to protect you."
Sion is frozen silent, put in a trance of the demon's crimson eyes. Eventually, he lets go of his gun, causing its clank to shake the whole apartment.
"Now... What do you say?" The demon moves closer to the scorpion's ears, "I'll protect you again," His whispers enter, keeping the scorpion still as if posessing him, "You just have to... Stay with me. This time."
But at that one particular word, Sion regains his consciousness and pushes the demon away, "You're the one who left..." He clutches his fists, closing his eyes as he furrow his brow in a fury, "You're the goddamned asshole who just couldn't say no to some random-ass bitch at the bar! And somehow, until now you still like me!? You still want to fuck me!? Huh!?"
"Really... Heh... You're the one that refused to fucking understand," The black fog he emits intensify, starting to flare like raging flame, "And just so you know. You'll always be mine. And I won't let anything of mine be taken away. Neither that fairy or your emotions will change anything..."
"Speaking off... Bet boss is having fun right now..." He gives Sion his one last smirk before he turns around to face the window, "Better go and join then, right?"
The back of his neck suddenly feels cold as Sion opens his eyes agape. Without thinking twice, he jumps forward, reaching for the lesser demon.
A mere milisecond after he touches the demon's shoulder, the two vanishes in a puff of black smoke.
-----
The clankings of crimson blade and black feathers decorate the sky. As a floating, decapitated head and a fallen angel duet in a raging ballad. The Krasue floating and swinging her blade in a mesmerizing display, her entrails swaying gently through the air like fragile ribbons used by performers as they slices through the Archangel's powerful yet quickened moves. Their session full of wicked laughter and rageful grunts as it continues on and on.
Azayaka stays seated on the concrete roof as she watches below them, still too weakened to do anything. She could only hope that a miracle would turn things to her favor.
On top of a taller building right beside the one where Azayaka is on, a puff of black smoke explodes out of thin air, bringing with it a lesser demon and a scorpion brood. The latter having his hand touching the former's shoulder.
"What the-" Veli, the demon turns around with widened eyes only to be met with an incoming fist.
However, the demon flawlessly blocks it with his palm, "You did not just-" His words are cut by an incoming thrust of the scorpion's tail, which he dodges by swinging his head to the side.
Through that opening, Veli grabs the base of Sion's stinger before pulling it forward, causing the scorpion to front-flip and drop to the roof, back first.
"Akh!" Sion grunts, him now lying on the floor.
"Gotta say, I guess you're not that much of a coward anymore," Veli huffs as he stares down at the panting Sion, giving him a proud smirk, "But that also means you're becoming more dumb than before."
"Did you really think your measly little insect arms and little bee stinger are gonna stop me?" From the tattoo that circles around his left wrist, a string of black fog emerges, slithering its way onto his outstretched hand, "Well, fucking use your brain!" That fog then turns into a pole before the right end grows out a crescent shape. Right there and then, the fog materializes into a pure, vantablack scythe that oozes out some trails of the fog that forms it.
The demon then curls his tail around the pole of his newly formed weapon, putting it neatly behind his waist as he jumps onto Sion, him now squatting over the scorpion as he smiles his razor sharp fangs.
"But... You do deserve something for being this brave..." Veli roughly cups Sion's chitinous cheeks, pinching them as he moves his head closer. Then, Velion opens his mouth wide, unhinging his jaw like a snake as the skin in between his lips rip apart. His lizard-like tongue then slithers across the left side of Sion's face, smoothly as it trails through his chitin and skin as it wets three of Sion's eyes with its saliva.
"Hm... You taste just like I remember. Salty and sweet... Haah... You just make me want to eat you so fucking bad..." Those words come out simultaneously with the demon's widened smile and glare, "Heh... It'll be just a second... It'll be quick..."
Sion widens his eyes. A gulp taking all of his words away. Gritting his teeth, he raises his feet to his chest and sends a kick, pushing the demon away.
"Stay... The fuck... Away from me!" He demands with all of his six eyes shaking. His brow furrows as his elbows move him back, trying to keep his distant away from the demon.
"Oh, and if I don't want to?" The demon waves his tail and scythe around as his smile keeps on widening and widening, "What are you going to do about it?"
Before Sion could respond, Veli already poofs in front of him, tackling him to the ground.
"Oh that's right!" His giddy tone grows more contrast with his fixated smile, "Y'can't."
Sion's eyes open agape, seeing the demon drooling above him as he lies helpless on the ground.
"Heh..." Veli then closes in to Sion's ear, whispering softly, "I'm going to have so much fun, playing with you again."
-----
"Khikhikhikhi! Is that all you got!?" Flying through the air, swinging her entrails Keris like a lasso, Eliana cackles as her battle against the Fallen Archangel rages on.
As the aerial banquet plays high above her, Azayaka tries to stand up, but the pain ravaging her stomach would quickly spread throughout her body everytime she tries.
Looking up, she sees the Krasue's intestinal blade brandishes againts Yuu's black wings repeatedly, creating harmonized clankings that spread all across the air.
With a widened smile, the Krasue dashes towards the Archangel with her blade raised. She sends a strong stab towards his chest. Luckily, he manages to cover himself with both of his wings. The momentum of her blade causing him to be pushed back, though he regains his balance with a few flaps.
With his teeth gritted and his fists hardened, Yuu dives towards the grinning head, thrusting the sharp ends of his wings forward as if he's a javelin.
But the Krasue only slightly ascends her self up, causing him to miss only with a few mere inches. As he passed below her, the tentacle-like threads that hang loose from her neck wrap themselves around the base of his wings and around his ankles, forcefully halting his path.
"Going somewhere?" She mocks, before she swings him up like a reverse pendulum, then throwing him towards the roof below. The momentum causing an explosion of dusts and debris upon impact.
Groaning, Yuu keeps his teeth gritted as he tries to raise himself up. But before he could manage, the Krasue is already floating right above his face and holding his , staring at him with her glowing, yellow eyes.
"Boy, you're quite the feisty one aren't you?" Her smile grows as her eye sockets stretch wider. Her pupils becoming mere dots to the darkness that is her schleras, "If you've just simply... Surrender yourself to me. My curiosity wouldn't have peaked," Her raspy growl reverberates, shaking the air around her as she moves her face closer and closer, "I do wonder how your blood taste... Must be quite exquisite if those demons want you so much."
Her smile keeps on widening and widening, until the corners of her lips reach her ears. A crooked, uncanny smile, similar to ones those children sees lurking from out their windows.
"Now..." Her lizard-like, slender tongue slithers out of her cavity, causing Yuu to widen his eyes, "I'll have a sip."
Her hanging tongue glows crimson, so does each of Yuu's facial orifices, "Akh- Ggh!" A gurgle echoes throughout Yuu's throat as his neck jumps up, as if magnetized towards her tongue.
"Yes, that's it... Let me see your blood..." Each of the crimson that lits up his features starts to fade. Each manifesting into a droplet of blood. Those droplets then swirl towards each other, before finally forming a single drop of red. It then floats towards Eliana's agape mouth, now chanting repeatedly; "Come to me... A single drop. A single memory..."
But just as that drop of blood almost touches her tongue, a figure blocks the moonlight hovering over Elianna, casting a shadow.
"Get the hell away from him!" Azayaka screams before swinging a loosened brick right onto the center of the Krasue's face.
With the monstrous head send flying away, Azayaka falls to her knees again beside the Archangel as she covers her stomach with her hand.
Panting, she glances to him, seeing him silent and unmoving, eyes closed and lips slightly parted.
"Yuu... Yuu!" Azayaka gently lifts him up in her arms. His warmth thankfully fueling up her hope for him.
"Dear, Miss Azayaka... Are you sure you want to interfene?"
The Dark Fae turns her gaze towards that growl, seeing the monster smiling her widest grin.
"Tch... Why... Why are you doing this!?"
To her frustration, the Krasue only laughs, bending her entrails back as if trying to contain her amusement, "You're quite the jest, aren't you?"
"I've told you already, didn't I?" Her smile fades into a solemn stare, "I want him. Not you. This is your last chance to leave."
Despite the pain, still wriggling about in her stomach, Azayaka checks her tights. A slight gasp comes out when she reminds herself that all her weapons has been confiscated. Now, the only thing she has is the loose brick she got from a broken roof tile.
She glances back to Yuu. His eyes starts to shake as his lips mumble. A brief silence later, they slightly open. His eyes still has traces of red in them, bringing the concerned Azayaka into his reddened vision, "A-Aza..?"
"Please... Aza..." His lips tremble as he slowly shake his head, "I-I... I don't want to... I don't want to go... I don't want to go back..." His voice is full of fear. Different from the usual huffs and grumpiness she's used too. As such, she widens her eyes for a second before calming herself, putting a gentle caress to his cheeks.
"Don't worry, Yuu... I won't let her lay a finger on you..." She smiles slightly, before averting her glare towards the Krasue, the beastly floating head, "Now, this is my turn to protect you."
-----
"Ggh!" Sion's roughly impacts the roof's edge, his back now leaning against it as he falls limp onto the concrete. His neck is now littered with scratches, blue blood oozing out from them. Gritting his teeth, he sharpens his eyes to the demon's figure approaching. His slow steps taunting him even further as a scythe hangs from the demon's tail.
Though, in a blink of an eye, the demon is already infront of him. His fingers holding the scorpion's jawline as he lifts the latter's face up.
"It will be much easier if you stop fighting back, y'know?" With such a mockingly childish tone, Veli tilts his head as he pouts. Then he moves his face closer, whispering into Sion's ear, "And maybe... If you do just that... I'll be more gentle with you.
To a faint click coming from underneath, Sion agapes his eyes and grabs the demon's shoulders, trying to push him away, "Get the fuck away from me!" Last resort, he lifts his stinger and thrusts it down, only for the demon to grab it midway.
"Really? This? Again?" Veli hums, holding down Sion even harder, "I thought we've grown past sting-play..." He looks at the stinger in his hand, its turquoise tip glimering with venom, "But, really... I do miss those days-"
"!!!" An elbow to his cheek cuts off his words, the impact causing him to stumble to his side.
Sion already make his run, quickening his pace towards the roof's stairs. But the demon poofs in front of him, staring with a morbid smile.
"Well, that was bold."
Sion stops his steps, almost stumbling down. In contrary, the demon stands tall, focusing his narrow eyes towards the little scorpion.
Sion is about to turn back, paying no attention to his taunts. But a tug to his tail sets his motion backwards. Back to the demon's strong and fiercesome hold.
"You know you're going to get some punishment for that, right?" He whispers, again into Sion's ear, "How about we go back to the start? Hmm?" His hands snake their way downwards, despite Sion's raging struggle.
Then, as the demon is about to reach for the buckle, a change in the air tingles his skin, causing him to glance to his right.
An object is flying towards him, fast and sharp like a shooting star. He casually tilts his tail towards it, blocking the object with his scythe.
A clank commence, concealing the rounds of footsteps coming towards the demon.
Only catching a glimpse, a tailed figure already made their way behind the demon's back. In their hand, a glowing, sea-blue trident, which they thrusts forward towards the demon.
Sion takes his chance to kick himself off from his captor. He stumbles out of his grasp and onto the concrete floor. The demon leans himself back, letting the trident passes through the gap between him and Sion.
"Now... What do we have here?" Veli raises his scythe up as Sion crawls further away from him. As the newcomer makes their way in front of him, hiding Sion from his sight.
A tin of light blue coloring his skin, down to his shark-tail. Rocking his pajamas, his loose silver hair flails with the wind. As his heterochromatic blue and magenta eyes narrows, staring with rage, he spins his glowing trident behind his back, finally ending his act with a warrior pose.
"K-Kao!? H-How did you..." Sion yells, dumbfounded by the sight.
"Don't worry about that now!" The sharkman simply answers, his gaze serious and concerned, "I just know that..." Turning his glare back at the smirking demon, he sharpens his eyes and grips his trident even harder, "This guy is a massive red flag."
