- 5 - ~ The Unarranged Meeting
---5---
I hated myself for it. I was internally kicking and screaming. But it was what I had to do. I had two days, and I was going to have to make some sacrifices to achieve my goal. It just sucked that it had to happen sooner rather than later.
I marched myself towards the training grounds, where Kakashi had tried to drag me earlier to meet this squad of his, right before I stormed off and ran into Itachi.
I shuddered, angry at myself for allowing myself to appear so vulnerable to him earlier that he felt he could reach out. I forced my thoughts away from Itachi and focused them on my new task.
"You can do this," I mumbled to myself. I clenched my fists and gritted my teeth, coming to a halt. It really pissed me off that Nagato thought I was going to be the one to screw everything up. And what pissed me off more was the fact that the Master wasn't doing anything about it. And he was supposedly on my side.
I stared ahead of me, my eyes cold and my face hard. Shaking my head I carried on and soon came within earshot of a training session. As I approached, I noticed that the training grounds were fenced off from the pathway back to the Leaf Village. Dotted around the fence were large, tall trees. I decided to take advantage of the trees and his slightly behind one, watching and observing what was going on.
Kakashi and two others, whom I assumed were his students that he was so desperate for me to meet, were all training and sparring. I heard the sound of bells jingling as Kakashi moved and after a brief moment, I clocked that the bells were somewhere on his person and the aim of his students was to retrieve them.
I stood and watched for a short while, still concealed behind the tree. I observed each of their fighting styles in depth, gathering any information, detecting weaknesses in skill or possible traces of old injuries. All of these would be key to my mission of exterminating them.
From watching, I observed that the pink haired girl had admirable strength, beyond normal measures. The blonde lunatic was skilled in creating clones and he used them for a lot of his jutsus. My brother was quick, stealth like, and I noticed a new ability that he had never once had had. His eye that was usually masked by his headband was now on show. From where I was standing, I couldn't really see much. Maybe he needed glasses? Curious, I decided to come out of hiding and introduce myself.
I wandered onto the training fields, my hand resting on the hilt of my no-dachi. Kakashi noticed me first, his eyes wide and for a moment, he was distracted. However, that short moment of distraction was enough for the blonde kid to release a knock out blow on Kakashi, using his clones. Kakashi went flying and the bells came loose, dropping to the ground. The pink haired girl gasped.
"Kakashi Sensei!" She yelled, obvious concern and shock in her voice. She shot a glance at the blonde kid before sprinting off to Kakashi, who had gone from laying on his back, to sitting up and rubbing his head. I noticed blood oozing from a small cut on his head. My spine tingled and I shivered ever so slightly. The blonde haired kid followed Pinkie, who was now kneeling at Kakashi's side and healing his wound, using medical ninjutsu.
"Naruto, hold him up straight," she ordered, focusing on the wound. The blonde kid, Naruto, did as he was told and held Kakashi up.
"Kakashi Sensei are you okay?! How many fingers am I holding up?" Pinkie yelled, holding up three fingers on each hand.
At this point, I realised that I had lost control over my body and had began walking over to the three of them. Unable to stop myself, I knelt down in front of him.
"He's fine," I answered, grabbing his wrists and pulling him up. "Just a little...stunned," I looked him hard in the eye as he stared back in disbelief.
"Hey! What do you think you're doing?! He could have concussion and what you're doing won't be any good for him!" Pinkie yelled, yanking on my arm. I shook her off with ease.
"Look kid, I know what I'm doing, I know medical ninjustsu too. Like I said, he's fine, he was just stunned," I snapped, and began healing the wound myself. I wasn't a medical nin, but I took some training in it because I never knew when it would prove useful and found I was quite skilled in its practise. It soon became a useful tool for my work should I ever need to use it.
I finished healing the wound. I looked at Kakashi, no emotion on my face.
"Get up," I told him, placing my hands on my hips. He nodded, rubbing his head as he stood.
"Who is she, Kakashi Sensei?" the blonde kid asked, his face wrinkled up in disapproval.
"Naruto, Sakura, this is Breis, Breis, Sakura and Naruto," he said, putting his hands in his pockets. I folded my arms.
"Nice to meet you Breis-sama," Sakura smiled. I nodded in response.
"And how do you two know each other?" Naruto asked. He suddenly nudged Kakashi playfully. "She your girlfriend, heh Sensei?" he sniggered. "You can finally ditch those pervy books!"
I looked at him in disgust.
"You still read those? Eww, you're gross," I said, my voice low and cutting. Kakashi rolled his eyes.
"Not now Naruto, and no, she is most definitely not my girlfriend. She's, heh, she...Bries is actually my younger sister," he said, scratching the back of his head. Both of their mouths dropped open.
"Yeah, she's my sister," he mumbled quietly.
"But, but you never mentioned that you had a sister before, Kakashi Sensei!" Sakura stammered.
"That's right Sakura, I didn't, because, I don't know, we didn't stay in touch, I guess,"
I scoffed.
"Yeah right, shut up Kakashi. The most likely reason he didn't mention me kid, is because he was under the illusion that I was dead, these past twelve years or so," I cut in, rolling my eyes.
"Dead? How could he think that you're dead if you're here?!" Naruto asked, pouting and scratching his head.
"I don't know kid, shit happened before so who knows," I waved a hand dismissively. "Anyway enough about me, apparently I've got to follow you guys for the next few days because that Hokage of yours, ol' Big Boobs, said I had to,"
"You've kind of got big boobs though," Naruto pointed out. I gritted my teeth and narrowed my eyes at him. If looks could kill, this runt would be long gone.
"Does Sparky here want to shut his mouth already, or I'll shut it for him," I said, my hand on the hilt of my no-dachi.
"Sparky?!" He complained. "How do I get stuck with Sparky?!"
"Not my fault you're dressed like an electrician, runt,"
"Bries will you cut it out? Naruto, just don't talk for a while, okay? Look we've got some errands to run today and we can't get them done with you lot bickering. Okay, let's move out Team 7,"
I glared at Naruto who glared back at me. I could sense that this kid felt there was something off with me already. Despite his outward appearance, he was clever and if he sussed me out, the whole mission went up in smoke, as if it wasn't already destined to fail with it being cut short.
"Looks like you're the only normal one here, Pinkie," I muttered, shaking my head.
Kakashi lead the way and we all followed. Naruto and Sakura ran after my brother whilst I followed behind at a slower pace. I felt a breeze which made me stop and turn.
Itachi stood hidden in the shadows on the edge of the Forrest. I stared for a moment, my heart really aching, before turning back, ignoring the aching heart and following my three targets.
