-1- ~ The Plot against Konoha
---1---
I was alone, training, working on my shiruken aim, when he approached me.
'Breis,' a voice came from the shadows. It was him...I threw a shiruken and hit it smack in the middle of the target. I grunted in reply.
'The others are waiting for you,' he said.
'I'm busy, can't you see?' I hissed, reaching for the hilt of my no-dachi, (a two handed Japanese sword) that was strapped to my side.
'I see that, but this is more important now, we have some information about the Jinchuriki, and another target for you,' he said, his tone changing. I stopped and turned, a scowl on my hard face.
'Obito is waiting, he'll escourt you to the others, then we can get down to buisness. Understood?' he asked. I nodded and Obito came from the shadows, a smirk on his scarred face.
'Breis,' he smirked.
'Ugly,' I teased.
'Always lovely, you are,' he started.
'I hope that was sarcasm,' I snarled. Obito chuckled.
'Maybe it was,'
'Put your mask back on, I'm finding it hard to take on the sight of that ugly face of yours,' I rolled my eyes.
'Would you two quit your childish bickering and get on with what I've ordered you to do?!' his voice came again, this time angry.
'Fine,' I gave in. I smirked to myself and glanced at Obito. I considered Obito my best and only friend, as he did with me. He'd been taken in by our Master, a few years after me. Turns out he'd nearly been killed, only to be rescued by the Master.
'Alright, Breis, let's go,' Obito smirked, leading me away. We walked through the darkness of the deep caves. Obito soon put on his mask.
'Thank you,' I sighed. Obito rolled his visible eye at me and playfully punched my shoulder.
'Let's keep moving, the others are probably getting impatient,' he said, changing his tone slightly.
'Alright...Tobi,' I said, speedin up my pace to match his. We came to the mouth of one tunnel into a large open cave, with a random water pool in one corner and large stone pillars, randomly scattered around the cave. Waiting for us were the remaining eight members of the Akatsuki.
We made our way into the centre of the cave. I sat down against a large slap of rock and began picking at the dirt. Obito, known as Tobi to the rest of the Akatsuki, sat down next to his partner, Deidara. The orange-haired Pein stood up and spoke. He babbled on about something to do with the remaining Jinchuriki, stuff that I didn't find important nor interesting.
'But before we capture the Nine Tails, we'll have to overcome some...obstacles. Breis...' Pein said. I looked up at the sound of my own name.
'I guess this is where I come in, hm?' I started, standing up.
'You guessed correctly,' Pein said, walking forward too.
'Who's the unfortunate target?' I asked coldly.
'Targets, you mean,'
'Great,' I said emotionessly. Pein nodded.
'First, you will go to the Hidden Leaf, undercover as a transfer Ninja from Iwagakure. You're to then befriend the Nine Tails and his friends. Two days before we attack, you will recieve a signal, that is when you will take down your targets. After your targets have been taken down, you're to flee the Leaf and return so you can prepare for the attack,' Pein started.
'Easy,' I nodded.
'Your targets are Sakura Haruno, Sai and Kakashi Hatake,'
No sooner had that name left his mouth did I freeze. My eyes widened and I flinched. But no sooner had it happened, I returned back to my normal emotionless expression. That name sent shivers down my spine.
'Scum,' Obito spat, only loud enough for myself to hear. I clutch the hilt of my no-dachi and grit my teeth together.
'When do I leave?' I asked.
'In the morning, so I ssuggest you go and make preparations now,' Pein ordered. I nodded and left, I felt all eyes on me as I left the cave. I kept on walking, not daring to look back and face my comrades. Finally, when I knew that no one would be able to hear nor see me, I stopped and drove my fist through a large boulder, resting against the tunnel wall.
'Argh!' I yelled, glancing at my chalky knuckles, that were pretty grazed now.
'Breis,' a voice came from behind me. I clenched my fists and turned.
'What?' I demanded. Before me stood Itachi Uchiha.
'Sorry, did I startle you?' he asked, stepping forward slowly.
'No, sorry, I thought you were someone...else,' I started. Itachi chuckled.
'That's quite a punch you've got there,' Itachi smiled. I blinked.
'Oh right. Thanks,' I said.
'You know, you remind me of someone I know,' he started.
'Really? That's funny,' I sighed.
'It is, you're just like him in many ways. In fact, I used to think you were a replica of him,' Itachi trailed off.
'Used to?' I asked, raising an eyebrow. Itachi smirked.
'What I saw just now and back in the cave, that changed my mind,' he started again.
'You didn't see anything,' I said, narrowing my eyes at him.
'It's no use faking. You've been putting on an act, a strong character who would not hesitate to kill, a killing machine belonging to the Akatsuki, but the mentioning of one single name, faulters that act, all those years of emotionless and hardcore training, all the blood, sweat and tears, showing the real girl behind those hard eyes of yours. Am I right, Breis?' he asked, staring into my eyes. I stared long and hard back at him, before turning to leave.
'I don't have time for this. Sorry Itachi, I've got a lot of preparations to do before I can complete my mission,' I said, my voice trailing off as I walked away from the Uchiha. He was wrong, so wrong. This mission would be easy, I'd prove to him and to myself...
