7: Finding the truth
Kin's POV
After cleaning up my vomit episode, Sakura and Ino escorted me to one of the examination rooms to check me over. They ordered (threatened) Sai to stand guard outside and took me inside. Sakura moved behind the scan machine, and Ino got right in close to me and rubbed her fingertips on my face in little circles, while asking me the basic questions.
"Does this hurt?" Ino asked. I knew exactly what she was asking for (since I was the one doing this to the kids all the time) and gave a shaky nod.
"How's it going, Sakura?" Ino asked, glancing back to the pink-haired girl who was still examining me.
"Wait.....the machine is reacting strangely to her," Sakura answered, staring at the screen. "There's definitely something wrong with her.....her plasma is low, but there are no broken exits from which she could have lost blood. At the same time, her heart has sickle-cell anemia, and the blood flow isn't even halfway through the heart veins before it slowly backs out, then tries to force its way in. I also believe she has viral hepatitis."
Yup. Sounds about right.
Why are you looking at me like that for?
Remember that I work with children patients?
Do you recall that I am trying to cure them of multiple unknown diseases?
Well, apparently, those diseases decided it would be a fantastic idea to come infect me every time I came in contact with a patient.
Although I do have a pretty strong immune system, after daily taking a dose of an infect air, I pretty much caught it too. I managed to keep everything down under the bed with extremely strong medications and constant washing and cleaning, thanks to the rest of my subordinates, but I'm not getting any better.
On the other hand, since I'm using myself as a living experimental patient to test new medicines and such, I discovered different ways to "post-pone" the children from dying so quickly. However, I may have cut of a year of their lifetime for doing such things. I'm going to do whatever it takes to keep those kids alive long after I find cures for them. No matter what.
"Kin, we are going to perform some medical Justus on you, alright?" Ino said softly to me. "Take a deep breath and relax."
I nodded once more, hoping they could cure me at least a little, so that I could get around a little easier.
Sakura's hands came in contact with my bare stomach. Ino rest one hand over my heart, slightly near the throat, and the other on my spine. The two began their ninjutsu treatment.
After thirty minutes.....
"It's not working," Sakura realized. My heart sank, but a part of me expected this. If the kids were unable to be cured through ninjutsu, then there was no way I could be relieved of this physical curse through the same treatments.
"Maybe it's not strong enough?" Ino suggested, collapsing on a chair.
"I don't know for sure," Sakura said, observing me again through the scan machine. "If we use too much power and force, it will overwhelm our ability to be stable and calm and hurt her instead. We're going to need Lady Tsunade."
"Got it." Ino trudged to the door and threw her head out. "Sai! Get Lady Tsunade!"
I heard a murmured response, and Ino poked her head back inside the room. "There. Done. Anything else?"
"We might as well a sample of these disease she has right now, is that alright, Kin?" Sakura asked me. I shrugged.
"Do what you wish."
Ino and Sakura took multiple samples of whatever was in my body. Suddenly, Sakura remembered.
"Wait, we need to tell Kakashi-Sensei as well. Can you go inform him?" Sakura asked.
"Kakashi-Sensei?"
"Yeah, she's his daughter."
"What?!"
"Just hurry up, please."
"Uh, o-okay then."
