11: That's fine by me

Author's POV

"Naruto! How could you just lose her like that?!" Sakura hissed, punching her friend on the head harshly. "Where did she go?"

"I don't know? She fell over there!" Naruto said vaguely, rubbing his head. "I'm sorry, Kakashi-Sensei. I definitely find her."

Kakashi said nothing, only hoping that his daughter wasn't dead by the time they found her.

"Let's go! We need to find Sasuke and Kin now!"

The four ninjas began running through the hideout, throwing open every door. Sai and Naruto were paired up together, Sakura and Tenzo another two-man team, and Kakashi on his own. Strangely, no one was around.

"Sasuke! Kin!" Naruto shouted, opening a door to an empty room. "No! Not here!"

Sai, on the other hand, decided it would be a wise idea to knock out Naruto.

So he did.

Then, after sending out his ink rats, he found the room Sasuke was in and approached the door carefully.

Meanwhile, Sakura and Captain Yamato (Tenzo) ran around, looking for either Kin or Sasuke.

"Kin!" Nope, another empty room.

"Sasuke!" Not in there either.

"Kin--Naruto?!" Sakura stumbled upon an unconscious Naruto. "Naruto! Wake up!"

"No time for that, Sakura! Give him to me and keep looking for Kin, Sasuke, or Sai!" Captain Yamato ordered.

Yippee. Let's add another person to the "Must Search For And Find" list.

"Yes sir!" Captain Yamato carried Naruto on his back, while following the pinky around the hideout.

Suddenly, the base shook violently, causing the two Konoha ninjas, excluding their unconscious comrade, to grab onto the wall for support. However, Sakura's leg was trapped and injured under a falling chunk of the ceiling. Luckily, Yamato was around to get her out safely.

Kakashi ran towards the cause of the mini-earthquake, hoping to find his former student Sasuke or his daughter. He was already exhausted, having to run around the entire base with his Sharingan to the fullest extent. He was already weakened considerably, but he kept going. Like father, like daughter. Neither of them were worried about themselves and kept doing suicidal missions for others.

"There we go," Kakashi muttered, spotting the walls of the hideout had blown up. He rushed towards the exit and shocked to see the scene before him.

"Sai! Kakashi-Sensei!" Sakura yelled, spotting her teacher. All Konoha ninjas arrived upon the scene of Sai blowing up the hideout, revealing the bright sun shining above the bombed clearing Sai had made.

"So everyone is here, huh?" A dark voice said calmly from the edge of the cliff surrounding the clearing. "Kakashi, Sakura, and Naruto. Is this guy my replacement?" He scoffed at Sai who did not react to his taunt. "And I suppose the other is supposed to be Kakashi's replacement."

"We are from the Hidden Leaf Village and here to take you back to Konoha under the orders of the Fifth Hokage!" Captain Yamato shouted.

"Take me back?" Sasuke repeated slowly. "Do you even have time for that, Naruto? After all, aren't you aiming to be Hokage?"

Said ninja woke up, getting on his own feet. "What kind of Hokage would I be if I couldn't even save one friend?!" He yelled, creating an extra large Rasengan.

"Friend.....?" Sasuke echoed, jumping into action. "We are no longer friends, Naruto."

Just as Naruto and Sasuke were about to clash, Sai intervened, swiping his tano against Sasuke's sword. In a split second, Sakura, Kakashi, and Yamato created a protective barrier around the nine-tailed demon host.

"Sasuke, that's enough," a slimy voice slithered, giving an extra hiss in the end of the sentence. The Uchiha survivor looked to see his mentor of the past two years, giving him a stern glare.

Well, this fellow was none other than Orochimaru.

"Orochimaru," Kakashi seethed.

"What?" Sasuke lashed out, prepared to impale his sword into the snake sannin.

"Now, now, Sasuke. There's no need to waste energy and time on them. After all, we have more pressing matters to attend to," Orochimaru said, smiling widely. "Kabuto, are you ready?"

"Yes, I have her in my possession," Kabuto answered, stepping out of the shadows.

"Kin!" Kakashi recognized his daughter walking along side their enemy.

"Oh? Someone you recognize?" Orochimaru asked teasingly, reaching out to wrap around the disease life-threatened girl. "She was very kind and nice to give up herself as a human experiment--"

"No I didn't!" Kin snapped, cutting the sanin off, annoyed. "I said 'human lab pet'! Not 'human experiment'!"

"Very well. Kin has agreed to join us as a human lab pet. There are so many things we have in store for her," Orochimaru said smiling comfortably at the terror-stricken faces of the Konoha ninjas.

"Kin! What are you doing?!" Naruto screamed. Kakashi wasted no time, trying to run towards his daughter, but Kabuto blocked him and soon went one-on-one with him, keeping him away from Kin.

"Hold on, Kakashi," Orochimaru said calmly, his snakes helping Kabuto. "We can't let you take away our precious human lab pet."

"What are you doing?!" Sakura yelled, trying to fight her way to get Kin back. However, Orochimaru used his snakes to keep her away. Kabuto raised his Chakra-enhanced palms to knock her out, but Captain Yamato took on the attack with his wooden arm.

"Kabuto send for them to keep those Konoha ninjas away. Let's go then," Orochimaru suggested, turning the girl around and had her walk away from the cliff.

"KIN!!!"

Kabuto called for Orochimaru's minions, then followed his master and their new test subject.

As they walked, Sasuke turned to Kin.

"Who are you anyways?" Sasuke asked. "You're not a ninja."

"I am Doctor Kin Hatake, at your service," Kin answered politely. "Kakashi Hatake is my biological father. My mother was Umi. She's dead, though."

"Hn."
