Kajsa|Three
"You know you could be a bit subtle at times when it comes to your arrival, right?" Kajsa shakes her head at the rain pouring down from the sky due to Thor's landing on earth. They'd arrived in London at an abandoned factory.
Luckily, she didn't have to worry about being caught in the pour because she was standing near him.
"Have I ever been subtle about anything?" Thor asks with a cheeky smile.
"I guess you have a point," Kajsa takes in the shipping containers surrounding them. For a moment, it seemed there was no one around until sirens rang in the distance, coming their way.
"Come on," Kajsa took the lead.
Dressed and ready to battle whatever may have been the reason Jane was in trouble, the two Asgardians followed the sirens to the side of the building.
A bunch of cop cars was pulled up to the scene and standing amongst a frantic Jane and Darcy.
Thanks to Thor, the two women weren't affected by the rain. Unlike the policemen who were confused by the sudden weather change.
Jane and Darcy were so busy going back and forth that they overlooked Thor and Kajsa until they realized they weren't affected by the rain.
Jane noticed them first and didn't take a second to walk over, leaving Darcy in the pour.
Kajsa stayed close to Thor as he met Jane halfway. She expected the two to have a romantic reunion but was surprised when Jane slapped him across the face.
Though it didn't hurt, Thor hadn't seen it coming either.
"Sorry," Jane said with relief. "I just needed to make sure you were real. It's been a very strange day."
"I am," Thor confirmed. "Jane what . . ."
She gives him another slap to the face, only this time out of anger. "Where were you?!"
"I'll leave you two to talk," Kajsa awkwardly walks away, putting her cloak hood over her head as she steps out into the rain.
"There she is!" Darcy greets her with a massive smile as she holds her jacket over her head. "I saw you out there on T.V. kicking ass."
"Oh, yes," Kajsa shrugs slightly, a bit flustered. "Well, when your husband, who you thought was dead, comes to take over the world, you can't idly sit on the sidelines."
Darcy's jaw dropped, "say what? You mean . . . the same guy who tried to kill Thor?"
"Yes, that's him. He's uh, in prison now and um we're not together anymore so . . . there's that."
"Yay!" Darcy said without thinking. "I mean, yay that your evil husband was put away, but aww because no one likes breaking up with the bad boy."
Kajsa laughs, having missed Darcy's dry humor. "Yes, well, it was for the best."
"So, what are you up to now? How'd it go with that Coulson guy?"
"Good," Kajsa smiles sadly at the mention of the late S.H.I.E.LD Agent. "I was living in New York. Then Loki came, and now I'm back in Asgard for a while until I have to go back to . . . "
Kajsa trails off, noticing the policemen looking over at them. "Um, Darcy, are you guys in trouble?"
"Damn it," the brunette had forgotten the cops were even there. She runs over to Jane and Thor; Kajsa follows after interrupting the couple before they can kiss.
"Hey! Is this you?" Darcy asks Thor, gesturing to the precipitation.
Without a lift of his finger, Thor stops the rain.
"Finally," Kajsa pulls her hood from her head.
"Uh, we're kind of in the middle of something here," Jane points between her and Thor.
"Um, I'm pretty sure we are getting arrested," Darcy reminds her.
"Hold that thought," Jane tells Thor and goes to talk to the cops.
"Look at you, still all muscly and everything," Darcy pokes his armor. "How's space?"
Thor smiles, "Space is fine."
In one snap, things escalated rather quickly. One second, Jane was talking to a cop. Then he touched her arm, and a red blast shot through her, hitting every police officer in close range while shattering the windows of their cars.
At the sign of danger, Kajsa's forcefield grew around her, Thor, and Darcy. It prevents them from being caught in the blast.
Once it diminishes, Thor runs over to check on a confused and groggy Jane.
"Oh dear," Kajsa had a gut fielding that something dark was upon them. "We have to go. It was nice seeing you, Darcy," she quickly runs over to Thor and Jane.
"Place your hands on your heads. Step back," the cop held one hand out cautiously, and a baton in the other as Thor helped Jane to her feet.
"This woman is unwell," Thor tries to explain.
"She's dangerous."
"So am I," Thor said protectively, igniting a mighty thunder.
As the policemen called for backup, Kajsa stood in front of the couple, ready to use her force field if needed.
"We'll take it from here," she said nicely, having had her run-in with many policemen since working with S.H.I.E.L.D.
They were just doing their job, so it was best to be respectful and keep the situation as deescalated as possible.
"Father!" she calls up to Heimdall, looking up to the sky.
"Father?" Jane frowns in confusion.
"Hold on to me," Thor pulls her close.
"What are you doing?"
The Brifost sigil burns into the ground, and orange power blasts through the sky, propelling them into space.
An amazed Jane holds on tight as they ride the plane to Asgard through the galaxy.
When arriving, they run onto the platform, stumbling a bit from the gust of wind pouring through the portal until it closes.
Jane lets out a laugh, partly speechless. "We have to do that again," she turns around, stopping short at the sight of an enormous Heimdall.
"Jane, meet my father, Heimdall," Kajsa introduced him as she took off her cloak.
"Hi," Jane said with a breath.
"Welcome to Asgard," Heimdall smiles.
* * * * *
Everything seemed to be well with Jane on the outside. So, Thor took her to the infirmary so they could see what was happening on the inside.
The brunette lay across the medical table with an orange field surrounding her. A group of female nurses worked quietly and diligently around the infatuated scientist.
Kajsa smirks a bit, finding it ironic that she was in Jane's shoes not too long ago.
Getting a thought, she whispers to Thor. "Should I go?"
The two stood off to the side.
"No, why?" Thor frowned a bit.
"I don't know, this seems like a . . . personal matter. Being here feels a bit weird now that Loki and I aren't together."
"Don't be silly. I need you now more than ever," Thor grasps her hand.
Kajsa frowns, not understanding.
"You and I have experienced earth in a way that no one on Asgard will ever understand," he explains. "My father especially."
Kajsa grew worried at the mention of King Odin. There was no way that he'd be okay with Jane being in Asgard.
Knowing Odin, he was probably already on his way to tear his son a new one.
"What's that?" Jane pokes at the field.
"Be still," the lead medic puts her hand down.
A hologram of Jane's body departs from her being and floats above her.
The hologram showed a red entity that was harboring inside her.
Kajsa's eyes bulged out of her head as she recalled seeing the entity in a vision when hugging Queen Frigga. The screams she heard and the sorrow she felt were intense.
It was as if she was experiencing the vision all over again.
Now there was no doubt in her mind that something dark was upon Asgard, and it had something to do with the entity inhabiting Jane.
"This is not of Earth," Thor whispered to the nurse standing on the other side of him. "What is it?"
"We do not know," she gulps, visibly concerned. "But she will not survive the amount of energy surging within her."
A look of agitation washed over Thor as the nurse left him to his troubled thoughts.
"That's a quantum field generator, isn't it?" Jane asked the working head nurse.
"It's a soul forge."
"Does a soul forge transfer molecular energy from one place to another?"
Shocked by the brunette's knowledge, the nurse looks down at her, "Yes."
"Quantum field generator," Jane whispers to Thor. He smiles; his eyes beamed of love.
"Thor," Kajsa gulps.
He notices the worried look on her face. "What is it, sister?"
"I had a vision about that . . ." she gestured to the red entity. "I can't tell you much, but whatever it is, wherever it came from - there will be bloodshed, here, in Asgard."
Before Thor could respond, the booming voice of his father grabbed their attention. Their heads turned to see the angry king standing in the entryway.
"My words are mere noises to you that you ignore them completely?" he asked his son.
"She is ill," Thor made clear.
"She is mortal," Odin puts down the shield with a swipe of his hand. "Illness is their defining trait."
The medics quickly backed away from Jane, bowing their heads to an agitated Odin.
"I brought her here because we can help her," Thor tries to explain.
Kajsa quietly watched the king circle around Jane. "She does not belong here in Asgard any more than a goat belongs at a banquet table."
Insulted, Jane pushes herself up. "Did he just . . . who do you think you are?" she snaps.
The entire room was baffled by Jane's sassy attitude considering no one in their right mind would ever talk to their king in such a manner.
Odin stopped in his tracks, looking her right in the eye. "I am Odin, King of Asgard. Protector of the Nine Realms."
"Oh," Jane calmed down, "well, I'm . . ."
"I know very well who you are, Jane Foster," Odin was anything but impressed.
Flattered, Jane looks at Thor. "You told your dad about me?"
Thor fights a smile, trying to focus on the dier matter. "Something is within her, Father. Something we have not seen before," he gestures to Kajsa, who was her usual quiet herself when it came to arguments.
Even when she wasn't saying anything, everybody knew she was listening and waiting for whatever the real issue was to come out.
"Her world has its healers," Odin argued. "They are called doctors. Let them deal with it. Guards, take her back to Midgard."
At the king's instructions, two guards marched right up to Jane.
Bracing herself for what occurred, Kajsa's force field appeared as she covered her face.
"No, I would not -" Thor tries to stop them, but the moment they grab her arm, they are blasted by the red entity within her. " . . . touch her."
An annoyed Thor approaches Jane, who passed out like last time.
"Jane, are you all right?"
"Yeah," she nods, groggily nodding her head.
Kajsa looks around, making sure everyone is unarmed. All while a stunned Odin shines magic over Jane's arm so he can see the power running through her veins.
"It's impossible," he was stunned.
Amazed, the head nurse comes to take a look. "The infection. . . It's defending her."
"No," Kajsa said knowingly. "It's defending itself."
"Come with me," a troubled Odin takes them to see the Yggdrasill, the world tree that connected and protected the nine realms.
The tree was taller than the eye could see and majestic with its many swaying branches. The realms were different color vortexes that shined like bright stars.
"There are relics that pre-date the universe itself," Odin explains. "What lies within her appears to be one of them. The Nine Realms are not eternal."
He then takes them to the library, where he shows them a book.
"They had a dawn as they will have a dusk. But before that dawn the dark forces, the Dark Elves, reigned absolute and unchallenged."
Odin turns the page.
"Born of eternal night the Dark Elves come to steal away the light," Kajsa and Thor looked at each other, reciting the book without having to look at the words.
"We know these stories," she wearily eyes the daunting picture of the Dark Elves.
"Mother told them to us as children," Thor recalled as well, coming to get a closer look.
Jane leans in next to Kajsa, captivated by the story.
"Their leader Malekith made a weapon out of that darkness, and it was called the Aether," Odin goes on. "While the other relics often appear as stones, the Aether is fluid and ever-changing. It changes matter into dark matter. It seeks out host bodies, drawing strength from their life force."
Kajsa awkwardly clears her throat at the dark end of what could be Jane's life while the couple exchanged a look.
Odin turns the page, "Malekith sought to use the Aether's power to return the universe to one of darkness. But, after eternities of bloodshed, my father, Bor, finally triumphed, ushering in a peace that lasted thousands of years."
"What happened?" Jane asks.
Odin looks at her, his one good guy intimidating as ever. "He killed them all."
"Are you certain?" Thor questioned. "The Aether was said to have been destroyed with them, and yet here it is."
Odin said calmly, though the sharpness in his voice made it evident that he didn't appreciate Thor questioning his father's deeds.
"Does your book happen to mention how to get it out of me?" Jane asked.
"No. It does not," was all Odin said before walking out.
"Wa -"
"I'll tell him," Thor quickly stops Kajsa before she warns Odin of what she's seen.
She tilts her head at him, "Thor."
"I will tell him, I promise, but if we tell him right now, he'll send Jane back. Give me some time to think."
"What if we don't have time?" Kajsa worried.
"Don't worry, sister. I'll handle it."
Thor's assurance didn't put Kajsa at ease no matter how much they hoped it would.
Knowing Thor, no matter what the book said or didn't say, he was going to figure out how to save Jane.
Even if she weren't the woman he loved, Thor would help her because it was the right thing to do.
"All right," Kajsa reluctantly agreed. "I'll give you guys some time to catch up. I think it's time that I go catch up with an old friend myself."
Patting them both on the arm, Kajsa leaves out the library, abruptly bumping into Odin.
"King Odin, my apologizes," she bows.
"It's all right," he assures her. "I just remembered that I've meant to talk to you."
"Is something wrong?" Kajsa couldn't help but feel a bit concerned.
It wasn't surprising that she was closer to Frigga than Odin. Since she lost her mother at such a young age, expectedly, she gravitated to the queen.
Even though Odin thought of Kajsa as family, they never spent as much time together as she did with Frigga.
"No," Odin motioned for him to follow her. "There's something I've meant to tell you since your return. I know things have been a bit chaotic for you."
"Yes, it has," Kajsa nods, following his stride as they walk down the hall. "But I'm doing better. Taking things step by step."
"Of course, you're a strong girl. You always have been."
Kajsa smiles at his compliment.
"You've fought for Asgard, gave my wife the daughter that she never had, and supported my children in ways that I should have." Odin stops in his tracks, turning to her. "You even loved one of them, and as a father, I let you down."
Kajsa's eyebrows furrowed, "I'm not sure I'm following."
"I wasn't blind to the romance transpiring between you and Loki. I can even admit, like your father, I wasn't in agreement. Not because of you but because of my son. You see, Kajsa, many people think Frigga and I were oblivious to what Loki was becoming. We weren't . . . we just hoped for the best."
"You and me both, sir," Kajsa chuckled dryly.
"I thought . . . I thought you could love Loki's greed for power and mischief away. Just as Frigga did for me."
Kajsa's eyes widened a bit.
"Between you and me," Odin was transparent. "I haven't always been the best king or person. I've made mistakes. I thought Frigga made me a better man, and she did, but I realized that I wanted to be a better man because of her. By the time I realized this, Loki had already broken your heart, and I feel partly responsible."
Kajsa clears her throat, fighting the tears that dotted her eyes lid. "Oh sir, it's not your fault. It's not even mine. Loki chose his own path."
"You're right. He did," Odin didn't argue. "But as a father, I should have said something. I should have protected you, and for that, I'm sorry."
"Thank you," Kajsa sniffles, wiping her tears. "Though I would never blame you for what happened with Loki and me, it feels good to hear that I mean as much to you as you mean to me. I am the few people in Asgard who are lucky to have gotten to know you personally, and it's something I'll cherish forever."
"Speaking of cherish," Odin reaches into his pocket, pulling out a gold necklace with a perfectly round, shiny green gem.
"This is a Viridian Simhurite, one of the rarest jewels in the galaxy. I want you to have it."
Kajsa lets out a breathy chuckle, amazed. "Sir, I don't know what to say."
"Don't say anything, just turn around."
Kajsa does as he says, letting him clasp the necklace around her neck. She turns around, holding the gem in her head. "It's stunning."
Without thinking, Kajsa hugs him tightly. "Thank you so much."
Odin embraces her before pulling away and taking her hands. "Promise me something, dear."
"Of course, anything."
"Don't let my son be the reason you avoid finding love again. Women like you deserve the world, someone better than Loki or even an old fool like me."
Kajsa frowned a bit, not understanding why King Odin was so down on himself. It was as if he was telling her something without actually saying it. She chose not to question it, however, since it wasn't her business to pry.
"I promise," she nods.
"Good," he kisses her on the forehead and walks away.
Kajsa clutches her necklace, watching him go curiously.

I've been in a low place for a while and I'm desperate to get back to my usual passionate writer self.
If you are still with me and looking forward to this series continuing, comment! I would love to hear from you guys.
Also, are there any Venom fans because I am itching to write a fanfiction ever since I saw Let There Be Carnage. Let me know!
I hope you guys are doing well.
