"Who?" Saguru frowned as he looked at the child, he'd almost mistaken the boy for Conan before remembering that Shinichi had regained his true form. Another factor was that the boy's hair was more unruly than Conan's could have ever been.

Wary indigos stared at the detective as the boy took a few steps back to create more of a distance between them "Kidnapper" The boy accused. It was the only explanation of why he was no longer at home and was instead,all alone with this strange man. He glanced around, searching for an escape, unfortunately the strange blond man was blocking the only exit. He bit his lip, what did this guy want from him?

Kidnapper? "How did you escape?" Saguru was alarmed "And who kidnapped you?" A child kidnapper was horrible since they often involved an innocent child. His gaze darkened, he wouldn't let the culprit escape.

The boy shivered, not liking the look in the other's eye, it was scary "Liar!" He was trying to play innocent! But he wouldn't believe him! The last time he trusted a stranger he'd been... Indigos watered, he didn't really remember, but it'd been bad.

Liar? The blond was silent for a few moments before he realized what the boy had meant. He pointed a finger at himself "You think that I kidnapped you?" It was the only explanation, but it also didn't really make sense. His brows creased in confusion when the boy silently nodded "Why do you think that?"

Indigos narrowed "I'm in an unknown place being cornered by you" The boy opened his mouth to speak once more, but instead clutched his chest, a pained whine passing through his lips.

Saguru watched in awe as the child somehow became even smaller, about the size of a five year old. Gold suddenly widened in realization, the boy had looked like Conan, who was a younger Shinichi, and Kaito looked like Shinichi "Kaito?" He inquired, voice soft as he knelt down next to the boy. The boy had fallen over from the pain.

Teary indigos glanced up into gold "How you know my name?" All previous hostility from before was gone.

The blond frowned, did that mean that Kaito was actually a child, and not just the size of one? That was worrying "What do you remember?" He should collect more information before proceeding further.

Kaito's face scrunched up in concentration, indigos narrowed in thought "Mommy and daddy were trying to make me nap" He frowned "I no wanted nap, nap no fun" He crossed his arms, a firm pout on his lips. He didn't feel tired at all! So why did he have to keep taking naps.

Saguru couldn't help the small chuckle that escaped his throat, tiny Kaito was kinda cute "I'm sorry that you think so Kaito" He offered the other a soft smile "Your parents decided not to make you nap, so they told me to look after you" He wasn't sure if a Kaito this young knew what kidnapping was, but he didn't want to risk being accused again. It would have been a hassle to have to regain his trust.

Indigos blinked, a wide grin crossing over his face at the aspect of not having to take a nap "Yay! No nap!" He waved his eyes excitedly before pausing "Who are you?" He didn't forget the guy's name did he? That would have been rude.

"Hakuba Saguru" He offered. Now that Kaito wasn't going to run off scared, he needed to check up with Akako. Kaito had said that he'd been planning to help out the witch today since he'd owed her, so the other's age problem was probably her fault. Or Kaito's, the magician really knew how to get into trouble. He took out his phone to call the witch, she'd recently gotten a phone thankfully.

"Hakuba" Akako's tone was suspiciously cheery "I take it you found my little gift for you?"

The blond let out an exasperated breath, so he'd been right "What did he do this time?" Why couldn't the idiot just refrain from antagonizing the one person that could quite literally turn him into an ant and stomp on him?

Akako let out a nervous chuckle "He was actually quite well behaved today to be honest" She was silent for a few moments "I just so happened to add the wrong ingredient to a potion and Kuroba got caught in the backlash..."

So Kaito had been surprisingly innocent, that was odd. He pinched his brow "Please tell me that he isn't going to get any younger" He really did not want to have to change Kaito's diapers...

"How old does he look now?" Curiosity laced her tone "He was 14 when I dropped him off a few hours ago" Though she'd also drugged the magician a bit to put him to sleep.

"He looked to be around the age of 5" He couldn't tell for sure since he hadn't known the other when he'd been that young.

The witch was silent for a few moments "He shouldn't get any younger, enough time has passed"

Saguru breathed a sigh of relief, no diapers, thank god "Will the potion wear off on it's own, or will a cure be needed?" At least the other's clothes seemed to change along with Kaito's size.

There was the sound of something clattering on the other end of the phone "I gave him to you to look after so that I could make the cure without worrying about him getting in the way" She let out a small laugh "Kuroba was being a handful and kept getting in my way" It was too hazardous to work with potions around a continuously de-aging person. The risk of another magical accident had risen significantly with the other's presence.

"Okay..." That made sense... The witch didn't have many others that she could have given Kaito to since magic was generally a secret. Shinichi knew about magic, but the sleuth got into enough trouble on his own. So he'd of course been the obvious person to give Kaito to "Thank you Koizumi-chan, have a good day" He hung up.

Now all he had to do was keep an eye on Kaito to make sure he stayed out of trouble. Wait... He glanced around, where was Kaito?

Me: This seems like it's going to be interesting to write~

And yes, Hakuba had to lose track of Kaito right away~
