Much to Kaito's great displeasure, his heat had ended up getting prolonged an extra 7 days. It had been horrible, especially since he'd never had one last more than 3 days before. The only silver lining was that despite how much slick he'd produced, Kaito hadn't felt the urge to act out any sexual desires that he usually had during his heats. So he'd just felt extra sensitive, sweaty, and all sticky. It was probably because despite the fact that he looked properly healed down there, it had still stung something fierce whenever he moved wrong.

The magician grimaced as he placed the last of the soiled clothing into the washer, his heat had completely left his system. That meant that he could call Shinichi over so that they could reconcile. He'd forgiven the other. Kaito hummed softly, should he make Shinichi work for it anyways? The thought was very appealing. Shinichi could be very sweet when he wanted to.

A faint wetness making itself known on his inner thighs caused Kaito to let out an aggravated groan. Why? He'd just cleaned himself up! He did a quick search on the web and scowled. It was common for leftover slick to be released after any heat that lasted for over a week. Gross, some people had to deal with that after every heat? No wonder some passed out from dehydration if that was the case.

Kaito cleaned himself up, again, this time using a slick pad to line his underwear. They were more absorbent than period pads. The magician shuddered at a sudden thought, female omegas really must have it rough... Gah. The magician shook his head at the horrifying thought, nope. He had enough problems, he didn't need to think of ones that won't affect him.

Once Kaito was confident that he wouldn't be requiring another change of clothes, he called Shinichi and told him to come home. He felt a lot calmer now that his hormones weren't being messed with via either heat nor the horrible contraceptives. After making the call he flopped down on the couch.

When Shinichi stepped into the house, it was hard not to smirk at how the other's pupils had dilated at his heat scent. The omega in him purred pridefully at how much he could affect his mate with just his scent. The way the other was hesitating at the library entrance was also nice "You can sit next to me" Kaito stated, indigos soft as he sat up to make room.

The sleuth wasted no time settling himself next to the other "Are you doing okay?" Shinichi asked, concern plastered all over both his face and tone. He kept his hands to himself, despite how much he wanted to check Kaito over.

"I only feel a bit of pain occasionally" Kaito leaned against the other, smiling as Shinichi seemed to relax at the touch. Indigo met azure "The chocolate you kept sending really helped to distract me from most of it" He'd been sent the really good stuff. Kaito took in a long whiff of his mate's scent, the familiar bitter coffee aroma was comforting, even if it was tainted by the other's regret.

Shinichi's shoulders drooped "I wish I could have done more to help" He sighed, looking sad. His help wouldn't have been appreciated, nor even wanted. Knowing that Kaito wasn't well but being unable to help had been a punishment in all itself.

Kaito smiled softly, physically taking the other's arms and wrapping it around himself "You did what I told you, that's enough" His request had been respected, not all alphas would respect such a request, especially when their mate was in heat. Shinichi was special like that, he truly respected him as himself and not just an omega in heat.

The sleuth cautiously scented the other, allowing his scent to wash over Kaito. He breathed out a small breath of relief when Kaito mirrored the action "Thank you for putting up with me" He hadn't wanted to hurt Kaito, he never wanted to hurt him. It would probably happen again though, maybe not in the same way but he just knew that he'd hurt the other again. Shinichi jolted when he felt a sharp nip on his ear.

Indigos glittered darkly "Stop feeling all sorry, I forgive and still love you" He'd been nice and refrained from using his fangs "I knew what I was getting into when I agreed to mate with you" He'd seen Shinichi ditch Ran countless times for a case. Unlike the female alpha, he was understanding. He understood that a wonderful date wouldn't be worth the guilt of letting a murderer run loose. Hell he'd joined the chase himself countless times.

Azure softened "I know, I just can't help how I feel" He was so lucky to have Kaito by his side. To have a partner who was truly understanding.

"I know" The magician smiled when he felt himself get hugged a little tighter, Shinichi had finally caught the hint that he was okay with being touched "Just maybe be more gentle next time, or ask if I want to help?" He'd missed the other's coffee scent. Just making a pot of coffee to replicate the scent hadn't been enough.

Shinichi nodded "I'll try" Being in heat meant nothing to Kaito when there was a life on the line, he'd seen the other do some pretty crazy but amazing things while in heat. The adrenaline temporarily snuffed out the faint weakness that came with the other's heats. Kaito's self control was just that good.

Kaito hummed "If we have a repeat, I'll kick you where it'll hurt the most" He'd barely stopped himself from doing so reflexively.

The sleuth shuddered, mildly horrified at the thought "Even without that threat, I wouldn't have wanted to repeat that" The threat only reinforced the thought.

"I know, but it feels more fair for me to give you a warning first" Kaito replied sweetly, looking as if he hadn't just threatened him with severe pain.

Shinichi felt a shiver run down his spine "You won't need to act out that threat" And if he did, then it would be well deserved.
