Extra update that I'll regret posting early
Kaito grimaced as he glanced down at his bloodied side, the red was still spreading albeit quite slowly at that, further staining his clothes. Not that they weren't already beyond repair anyways. The magician felt oddly calm as he measured his breaths, though that was probably the blood loss at work. What had happened? The teen wasn't really sure of that himself, hadn't he been walking home from the store? So how had he ended up in this warehouse? And injured at that?
Tired indigos stared at the blood trail, he hadn't been dragged that was for sure. The blood's spacing made it look like he'd run, but from what? Kaito brought a hand up to his head, a sharp pain shredding through it as he did so. Thinking hurt, but he had to think. Kaito slowly got to his feet, using the crates he'd been leaning against as leverage. Now that he was looking at the spot, he must have passed out for a bit? The accumulated blood told him that he'd at least been there for a little bit. Feeling both pained and confused, Kaito checked his pockets. He clicked his tongue when no phone was found. Great, he was lost, bleeding, and without his phone.
With a pained groan the magician forced his feet to move, both arms pressing against his side as he did so. He needed to find someone with a phone before he passed out and stayed out. Kaito wouldn't allow himself to pass out, he was Kaitou Kid! Dying confused like this was not something he'd allow to happen. Though... Kaito stumbled, a whine passing through his lips as his injury was jostled, that was easier said than done.
Kaito didn't really put in any effort into being stealthy as he moved. The magician was tired and very dizzy, he didn't want to waste any time, especially since he wasn't sure of just how much blood he'd already lost. Hopefully whoever had hurt him had already been lost... Kaito was retracing his own blood trail... So he had to hope that whoever had attacked him had already been taken down or had given up the chase in favour of leaving him for dead. He couldn't recognize where he was, though that may be due to the head injury he might have.
So Kaito walked and walked, using what energy he had to complete the task. A task that was getting harder and harder to accomplish due to the blood becoming more and more spread out. It was probably from when he'd had enough energy to move fast instead of the slow pace he was currently going at. It felt so slow, but that was probably because he was in pain...
Eventually the magician began to sway, steps becoming more and more difficult with each one. Just how far had he run? And why wasn't anybody around? Surely he would have come across a homeless person taking advantage of night's cover by now shouldn't he? Kaito pursed his lips, of course not... He probably ran to somewhere secluded to prevent others from getting caught up in whatever had happened... He was, really regretting his protective tendencies right now.
Kaito stumbled, this time unable to catch himself before his chin hit the hard concrete. The magician laid there stunned for a few moments as his bleeding hastened and his jaw throbbed. With trembling arms, Kaito just barely managed to push himself up enough to be on his hands and knees. Gritting his teeth, indigos clenched shut as he forced himself to continue until he was back on unsteady feet. He couldn't stay here.
Blood wet his mouth where it'd previously been dry. He must have bit his cheek when he'd fallen. That was fine, it was a small thing, he just needed to keep moving. It was harder to start after stopping so he just needed to make sure that he didn't stop again. Kaito wasn't sure if he'd be able to get back up again if he did.
At least the coldness in his limbs somewhat helped with how sluggish they felt. Kaito didn't want to think much about it, it wouldn't matter in the long run so long as he kept moving. Surely there wasn't that much farther to go until he left the warehouse district right?... Sure his stamina was good, but he couldn't have gotten that far while wounded... It was possible, maybe that was why he was so bad off now.
Wait... Indigos lit up slightly. Kaito could hear the faint sound of cars. It wasn't heading towards him, but the sound might be from a nearby road. A road meant people, which meant that they could call for help. He just... Needed to get there first. He could do that, he had to. He would not allow himself to die like this.
Kaito changed his route, limbs shaking as he took to hugging buildings in order to stay on his feet. It ended up being slightly easier than having nothing to support him, though the gaps between the warehouses were the worst. He could do this.
He was so close! Kaito just knew it! His vision was mostly blurred by now, that was fine though. He didn't need to see, he just needed to keep moving and reach that road. That was all that mattered, everything would feel better once he was fixed up.
Kaito felt his breath leave him as he was suddenly yanked from his feet. Confused, Kaito struggled, panicking as he felt something cold touch his neck moments before a hot pain hit him. Had... Had his neck just gotten sliced?! "Goodbye Kudo Shinichi" Kaito made a gargled sound as he was dropped to the ground, frantically grasping at his neck until he had no energy to continue.
The assailant let out a sigh as he watched the target's struggles come to a still before pulling out his lighter and lighting a cigarette "That had taken more effort than I thought it would" Taking a long drag from his cigarette, they nudged the body with their foot a few times before leaving.
Me: Kaito's pointless struggles ended in failure~ And he was so confused in the end... This was really fun to write~
A very unsatisfying end...
