Indigos were alight with curiosity as Kaito inspected his newest creation's results. Visually the slime was one hundred percent perfect, it's smooth pink glittery surface hardened quickly against skin. The glitter particles blended in perfectly with the sticky substance, preventing people from feeling any of the glitter. So visually the project was a complete success...

Unfortunately, despite it's visual appeal, the glittery concoction was not something that he'd ever be able to utilize at one of his heists. The reason? It was slightly flesh eating apparently, thankfully the process wasn't dangerously fast, but it was still not acceptable.

Kaito sighed, poking at the hardened slime that he'd plastered onto his left side. The burning had gone down to a more numb feeling, leaving the skin around the slime uncomfortably warm to the touch. Maybe he should have figured out how to remove the slime before testing it on himself... He'd just been so excited since it'd been a while since he'd made new slime.

Prying it off didn't seem too safe, it was likely that he'd end up a bloody mess if he tried. Kaito had already tested his previous solvents for slime removal but none of them had worked. That hadn't surprised him though, he'd been intending for there to be need of a new solvent since the task force had probably memorized most of them already.

The magician mentally calculated how long he'd have before he should really start to worry, it was a few hours at least, maybe even a day or two. He wasn't bleeding so his skin wasn't being eaten too fast. Kaito hummed, he was tired, having not slept in a few days. Maybe he should get someone else to find the solution while he just rested. Plan now formed, Kaito headed over to Shinichi's house. Saguru's was closer, but the blond was more likely to fret than scold him. When he arrived, Kaito didn't bother knocking, instead he just picked the lock and headed inside.

"What are you doing here Kaito?" Shinichi sighed as he spotted Kaito enter the library.

Kaito just smiled, offering a sheepish grin "I have flesh eating slime stuck to my side but I'm too tired to figure out how to remove it" There, simple.

Azure narrowed as Shinichi snapped the book that he'd been reading shut "Didn't I already tell you to stop testing things out on yourself?" Shinichi stated as he got up from the couch. Concerned that his friend might be underestimating his predicament. It had happened before so it happening again wouldn't be too much of a surprise.

The magician shrugged, not looking guilty in the slightest "It's hard to replicate the effects things have on real skin" He's tried multiple times, it never really worked properly "I'd rather get a few scars than hurt someone"

Shinichi scowled "Let's go over to the professor's, I'm sure Haibara would have lots of fun poking you with needles"

Kaito took a step back "Why would she need to do that?"

The sleuth just smiled "She probably wouldn't, but she'll do it anyways" As punishment for being stupid. The tiny scientist really didn't like it when people did unreasonably dangerous things. Especially outside of life or death situations.

"Maybe I should have gone to Saguru instead..." Kaito sighed as he allowed Shinichi to lead him over to the house next door.

"Maybe you shouldn't have stuck flesh eating slime onto yourself" Shinichi countered, lifting up Kaito's shirt to make sure that his friend wasn't actively dying "That stuff looks awful, too gaudy" Kaito's skin looked highly irritated but he at least seemed to not be missing visible chunks of flesh. That was good.

Kaito wrinkled his nose, batting the other's hand away before stifling a yawn. His lack of sleep had suddenly hit him, it was hard to stay awake "I should have plenty of time"

Shinichi's gaze sharpened as he noted that Kaito was swaying a bit "Let's hurry, I don't want to end up carrying you" Right as he said that, he was forced to catch Kaito who'd passed out. Significantly more concerned than he was a few moments ago, Shinichi rushed Kaito inside "You better not have poisoned yourself" He scolded even though Kaito couldn't hear him.

"What did he do this time?" Ai drawled, looking up from her phone.

"He made a weird slime, it's stuck on him but is apparently slowly eating his flesh" Shinichi paused "He just passed out a few moments ago"

Ai clicked her tongue "Bring him down to the lab"

The sleuth obeyed then left, passing Ai on the way back up. He didn't want to get in her way. She also preferred to work alone in her lab. After around two hours of waiting, Shinichi spotted Ai leaving the lab "Is he okay?"

"Yes, the slime also had an sedative effect, his resistance to such things is what took so long for him to pass out" Her gaze narrowed "He must have mistaken some chemicals, probably from his lack of sleep"

Shinichi winced, that was dangerous. What if it'd kept him under long enough for the slime to truly harm him? "I'll buy you that designer purse that you've been eyeing"

Ai nodded, looking a little less annoyed "And the boots"

"And the boots" The sleuth agreed.

"Make sure he keeps his side bandaged up, he didn't bleed much but the skin is raw and sensitive. With such a large area, it'll easily get infected with all the stunts he does daily" Honestly, the magician should have used a smaller amount or at least plastered it in a place that wouldn't constantly be flexing.

"I'll buy you the coat too" Kaito would probably have to be brought in again at a later date.

Ai hummed "I'll look forward to it"

The sleuth headed down to the lab to go bring Kaito out of it, not wanting the magician to wake up in the lab. Kaito would surely want to mess with the things in it, Ai wouldn't like that. At all. So transporting Kaito out of it was the best option to avoid that sort of problem. Shinichi paused when he spotted Ai again, she was holding an unnecessarily large needle.

Me: So Kaito really shouldn't test things out on himself... At least Ai is getting some pretty nice stuff as payment~

So 'random woes' or 'A Reason' ?

Berry at school: *Shifts while my back is to the wall*... *Crunch noise is made*

Person: Did you just fart?

Berry: No! QAQ My spine crunched *Shifts multiple times to prove my innocence*

Person: *Cringing at the crunching noises I made* Oh...

... It happened a lot °^°
